What lip gloss colors look best on someone with olive skin and light brown hair? Pls read details!?

First, thank you for reading these, nobody really does anymore.

Second, I am lightening my hair soon, to a caramel color with some honey blonde highlights and I prefer to wear lip gloss in berry-like colors (deeper reds/pinks) but now I'm worried they'll make me look washed out.

Can I still wear any dark shades (I have olive skin)?

If not really, then what colors would work well on me?

Thank you all so much for your help!

What lip gloss colors look best on someone with olive skin and light brown hair? Pls read details!?
i think your skin tone is hottttttttt all natural
Reply:i think more natural things are beautiful try a creamy bronze color or light pink....since its gloss u can prolly still wear ur normal shades and if u like it wear iT
Reply:nude tones, rich cranberry reds or a soft pink.
Reply:I'd say light pinks but not to heavy you want to keep a natural kind of look.

Deeper colors can wash out your face just don't go to dark and you should be fine.
Reply:i have olive skin and brown eyes and everyone allways says red looks awesome on me
Reply:Make-up is so much fun! Go ahead and buy colors that interest you. If a color ends-up not looking good on me, I just mix it with another color to make it darker/lighter.
Reply:I definitely think that natural colors go best, but if you're looking for something on the pink side, go with a rose color, so it's dark enough, but not too dark to where it draws too much attention. Dark shades are fine too, but once in a while not every day; but be sure to use something like a brown tone.
Reply:I really really know you would look so stunning with a chocolate lip liner and the liptox sheer in contessa by Bee Luscious Cosmetics, or the liptox in starlit with a berry lip liner

WOW you will be a total knock out !!

Why are penis and testicles deeper in color than the rest of a man's skin?

Maybe because of increased blood flow.

Some examples of celebrities with light olive or beige skin?

I can easily tell who is deeper-olive complected...I'm nowhere near that dark, but I am not fair; I have light beige skin with a lot of red in it. I'd like to get some ideas about what colors to wear in clothes and makeup. I can never tell who is fair-toned and who is olive-toned.

Some examples of celebrities with light olive or beige skin?
Some say Megan Fox is olive skinned, I would say Jessica Alba definetly has some olive qualities to her skin. Super model Alessandra Ambrosio is supposedly olive skinned. You know what really helps is if you look up 'olive skinned celebrities' on Yahoo! search engine.
Reply:right. and you care so much because...?

i am olive skinned. dont know what shade.
Reply:I think Jennifer lopez, jessica alba, and Nicole sherzinger but she more lighter!
Reply:Maybe you should put up a celebrity's name of who's skin you are most like, then I could give you an idea of your shades; Theres 4 main 1s: Light, Medium, Tan, Dark

Lights: Queen of England, Nicole Kidman, Madonna

Medium: Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz

Tan: Haley Berry, Beyounce, Lindsay Lohan

Dark: Naomi Campbel

All Mediums and Tans are of a biege tone.

I already know you can get skin cancer?

hi guys! I am wondering about the different levels of tanning. At my tanning salon there is level 1, 2 and 3. 3 is the "best" and 1 and 2 I'm assuming suck? because they always say try level 3 try level 3! well I did 2 because it was MUCH cheaper. and I got tan. but yesterday the girl told me that if I moved up to level 3 I would get a much deeper tan. So whats the difference between the different levels of tanning beds?? and I already know you can get skin cancer from it. I am very much aware so people no answers telling me what I just stated. thanks loves =]]]

I already know you can get skin cancer?
You must be very young. My guess is High School?

If you want a deeper tan go with a 3. It just means that the exposure to the UVA rays is more intense. I wouldn't so much worry about cancer if you do it once in a while. Everything is healthy if in moderation. Tanning beds are also recommended for people with depression who reside in cooler climates.

I do not recommend consistenly hitting the salon as cancer is not the only thing you should be worried about.

As a woman, who evidently wants to look good, you will want to look your best for the rest of your life. If you expose yourself to harful rays, you will damage your skin. When you hit mid 30's you will look mid 40's. So always keep that in mind before you start a habit.

How do you get rid of skin infections?

My husband gets skin infections. Terrible skin infections. He gets them in his underarms. But worse where his belt lays and the insides of his thighs. The ones under his belt are worst they weep all the time. They have puss pockets the size of nickles. He has been to the doctor and put on medication but it didnt work. And the doctor refuses to send him to a dermatologist. (Medicaid) But he wont take a sample to test them either. The puss is green and yellow and bloody and nasty. The only way he can walk sometimes is if I pop them.

I know if you mash them you can make the infection go deeper. So I put on gloves and clean the area with alchole and iodine. Then take a new autoclaved peircing needle and make a hole in it. And drain it. But that doesnt get the infection gone, just removes pressure. What can we do to heal this up and make them all better.

He needs to go to www.notaquitter.com and get some Silver Cream which is a 100% Natural antibacterial agent. It is inexpensive and they ship worlwide. I use it for the same purpose and it works great.
Reply:what kind of doctor do you see ..... Have he seen a dermatologist. I have haad all kinds of problems with skin and they solve them. It s necessary to make sample and test of all kinds. Allergies, viruses. Go soon as u can to the specialist, change doctor.

How do I heal the skin on my nose?

For the last three months there has been a place on my nose that has been scabbing over and then the scab comes off and then it re-scabs and then I try a cream and band-aids and it still does this, and then I use a different cream or ointment and it does it again, and on and on. The way it came about makes my feel that there's a deeper problem to this. It's not from a wart or a pimple, but the skin there became different of a different texture. No discoloration though. Then the initial chafing and scabbing. I would accept any answer. I'm curious about a homeopathic answer.

How do I heal the skin on my nose?
I recently discovered Melaleuca oil. It is a natural antiseptic. It is good for sooo many things. My first testimonial about it is when my son had a very itchy rash on his back and I decided to try the oil and it stopped itching almost instantly after I applied it. If you want to find it, it is on their website, melaleuca.com It is safe to put on open wounds, even in your mouth. It is in all of their products, including their toothpaste. If I were you, I would try it. It sounds kinda odd that the sore keeps coming back. Take care! By the way, I've heard that the oil helps rosacea.
Reply:May be you have Rosacea.

Reply:At night put a thick layer of zinc oxide on your nose and make sure to stay out of the sun or where sunscreen. I get a scab on my nose every year because of the sun. Hope this helps!

Fair skin how to get a dark tan?

i am fair skinned with rosey tones in my face, and i tend to burn, after the burn settles down it turns into a tan. i'm wondering (without using self tanners) how to get a deep tan?

Fair skin how to get a dark tan?
Well, you can get naturally darker but you have to be in a hot area like California or Florida. You still have to use sun screen though to protect yourself from cancer, I don't know if it will work for you because you're fair skinned but it sounds like you can get a tan naturally.
Reply:I forgot to also say, don't go to the beach and sit there getting burnt thats how you get skin cancer. Just walk around a lot! I hope you kinda get the idea because I don't really know how to explain it. Report It

Reply:use something with a bronzer
Reply:Please dont tan... its really bad on your skin. And if your fair skinned you are more susceptible to premature aging and skin cancer, I highly recommend just going to a salon and getting a professional spray on tan, they look really nice and last several weeks.
Reply:If you don't have adequate melanin in your skin, you won't be able to tan naturally and will always need to chemically dye your skin with "bronzers" or you will need a spray on tan.

I would suggest you look up Michael Jackson and he might give you the melanin he removed from his skin.
Reply:there is no way for you to get deeply tan skin because your skin is fair unless you WANT skin cancer
Reply:u cannot achieve a deep tan with ur skin, however, you can tan. Personally, I prefer pale skin and I would suggest using ur paleness to ur advantage, but if u r really headstrung on tanning, maybe try a tanning salon or buy a nice, deep tanning oil. but seriously, the next time u pick up a fashion magazine(like Vogue or Runway type)take a look at the models and you'll notice how many pale models there are...pale skin can be very very classy and sexy.

but oh well, if u want a cancerous tan, go for it^^

lol - i love how people ask questions then thumb down the correct answers - makes me wonder why they bother wasting 5 points
Reply:I'd love to know x
Reply:wash your face with cold water, it closes the pores. Also try 'skin wisdom thermal face mask' from tesco, it's amazing.
Reply:Well, I was told by my dermatologist not to put any kind of oil on your face. What I do to close my pores is spash ice cold water on my face. You may want to use Pro Active for a month and see how that does for you even though you don't have an acne problem, it will still help with your pores.
Reply:Polyfilla?????????
Reply:I have the same prob and it seems everyone here has no idea splashing water on ur face doesn't get rid of deep pores it just tightens them for a few mins. Ok so do you have a face sauna/steamer these help alot try buying one from amazon or use a bowl of hot water with a towle over your face and use it at least once a week, if you place a blackhead strip on after a face steam it will be really effective! I find the best way is to aviod oil and to use tea tree based products its very good, wipe your face down with any scrubs/face wipes before and after bed. Hope this helps
Reply:Noixia, I brought it recently for deep pores, I use it on and off- but you are supposed to use it continuously. But when I do use it, I do notice a change in skin condition- the set contains, something to get rid of scars, tighten deep pores and stop spots.

Another good thing, is that its all made from natural products and has been recommended by various medical journals as a proven effective way to get rid of scars. Unfortunately can only be brought form the website and shipped over from the US, but mine came in great condition and very quickly.

The website is www.noixia.com
Reply:You can consider using Miho White Essence. It will help to moisturize, whiten the area and it has another function. Lightening of fleckers or pigmentation.

Skin cleaner?

I feel like i have dirt on my skins...any product you can suggest to help by deep moisturinging or cleansing......i tried with dove, and other body wash.....Please help

Skin cleaner?
I used to work in a skin care clinic. The best things you can do are: clean (dove soap is wonderful) exfoliate (use baking soda) protect(use a sunscreen every single day and be sure it has zinc oxide in it. I use vanicream that I get at www.coolibar.com) use a chemical exfoliator such as glytone. Those 4 steps are the basic care that all beautiful skin needs. I don't even use foundation anymore.
Reply:using an aspirin mask is a great (and cheap way) to very nice soft clearer skin. i wouldn't use it everyday. some women suggest 3 times a week. however, do not use the aspirin mask if you have a sensitivity to BHA’s or if you have very sensitive skin.

How do you make it?

The Aspirin mask must be made with uncoated, dissolvable tablets. Take two or three tablets and dissolve in a teaspoon/tablespoon of warm water.

To Apply

Spread the mixture on the face, avoiding the eye area and leave for a few minutes until it dries. Very gently rub the mask for about 10 seconds, to exfoliate the skin. Rinse off with tepid water. Remember to moisturize as BHA’s can be drying.
Reply:Try to buy a body scrub and massage it onto dry skin before taking a shower. Moisturize with a body butter after.
Reply:If it's your face a really great cleanser is Witch Hazel lotion it cleans everything off without drying your skin. If you are talking about the rest of your body then try Neutrogena bars, really they're for the face but I treat the skin on my body well they really clean everything off. You can also try their Body Clear body scrub or use a regular body wash and then follow with a scrub like St. Ives Apricot scrub it really makes your skin glow. Good luck!!!

I want to dye my hair black but I'm not sure that it will go with my skin tone..?

I have olive skin which gets very dark in the summer so it's more brown than olive. Right now my hair is a deep brunette with lots of natural red highlights. I like a lot but I want to try something different that will really make my eyes stand out. They're a light brown- almost amber. I figured dying it all one color might get that affect since my eyes really stand out w/ a black shirt and eyeliner.

I want to dye my hair black but I'm not sure that it will go with my skin tone..?
For the season I think it would look awsome, Im just like you olive skin tone, dark eyes and i get dark in the summer fast also! When you dye your hair dark you might be a little suprised at first but i know it would look very cute on you, also try using some bronzer (being that its winter) Where some jeweled colored clothes that would definently make your eyes and hair stand out! Good luck show us pics when you do it!
Reply:once you go black you can never go back

and youll have nasty roots unless you keep dying it

i wouldn't do it youll regret it

but it would look fine with your skin tone
Reply:You should do what you feels best, The colour should be fine as long as your willing to live with it, after all it is your head. You only live once so I wouldn't be afraid of a bottle of dye-Tabitha%26lt;3
Reply:black looks good with olive. make sure you get red base though and not blue (since you have red highlights already) so when it starts to fade, it won't go greenish

Are topical treatments for tendins and and muscles really able to be absorbed through the skin?

I recently had tendinitis and found a product called "tendin resscue". Its a cream which you apply to the affected area and its supposed to be "deep penetrating"' and will actually help your tendins and connective tissue in some way. But I have trouble beliving that a cream I apply to my skin can actually seep through into my tendins. Am I wrong? Do products like this work?

Are topical treatments for tendins and and muscles really able to be absorbed through the skin?
My doctor told me that topical creams are able to "penetrate" but only if you rub them hard enough. The cream will then sorta "pass through" the skin when you rub the cream. But you have to keep rubbing for a couple of minutes. However, the amount that goes through is minute compared to oral medicines like pills.

You should ask your doctor about "tendin rescue" though, incase the situation is different.

Hope this helps.
Reply:Topical patches and creams do seep into the pores of your skin and do help the problem, but do not solve the problem. They help relieve the pain- usually you feel cold and warmth, which is what is relieving the pain. For inflamation (minor/acute) you want to use cold and for chronic you want to use warmth. Or both would be just fine. Also, you need to look at the active ingredients to see what is working and why. Extra strength is usually just that- so if the pain is really bad look into the extra strength formulas

Please help me with my kitten, something is wrong and I dont know what (skin problem)?

My boyfriend's mom recently got 2 kittens from a lady who was overwhelmed with litters. Theywere outdoor kittens, since we got them they were only outside once and were under constant supervision. I noticed a few days ago that one of the kittens had a bit of fur behind his left ear matted down. We didnt think much of it, maybe it got wet or they were playing and got a little too frisky. But a days went on and he lost some hair, in a circular pattern and we noticed some bleeding in the middle of the circle. I cut the fur and saw a scab. We thought maybe it was ringworm and the scab was from scratching, but soon we noticed a deep, but small (in diameter) hole. Our treatment (given by myself a freshman in Pre-Vet and an RN.. not exactly the best diagnostic team for a kitten, Im aware) has been anti-fungul cream on the bare skin and iodine on the hole.

As far as his spirit goes, he is still really playful and loveable. Were just playing the waiting game to go the vet due to $ reasons.

Please help me with my kitten, something is wrong and I dont know what (skin problem)?
Sounds like a cuterebra, or bot fly larva.

"What pet owners typically see is the swelling at the air hole and matted hair from the pet’s over-grooming. Cats often groom to the point of irritation. Sometimes the pet has pain at the site. Some sites become infected and pus can be seen."

Check out these links:

You should definitely see a vet. If money is a concern check your local humane society. They can sometimes pull out a larva for free %26amp; give you medication if needed, and if not may be able to offer you a payment plan or discounted services, especially since they are rescued kittens.
Reply:She's right it must be a but fly larva Report It

Reply:I don't know much about parasites - but I had a friend tell me of something like that, that the cats eat an egg of some kind, and it grows into a worm and the worm crawls up through the skin and makes that hole - then the worm will nab fleas and other bits of food that are on the surface. From what he told me, the worms just pop out of the hole, grab what food they find, and pop back down into the hole. I could be wrong and silly, but get it check out just in case...
Reply:Do you believe it to be a puncture wound? Using the iodine is fine. I would be more concern using the anti-fungal cream at this time. Especially if it carries steroid in it. Keep an eye on it and if it seems to be getting worse or the kitten stop eating, drinking, starts vomiting and having diarrhea then get him into your vet. If the wound is healing with your help %26lt; mind you to use the iodine deluted when cleaning%26gt; since this is a young one, then you should be fine until you can get him in for his first check up and set of VXNS. Oh yea, lets not forget to get his neutered when it's time :-)

You may still want to have them checked for ringworm...... just in-case

What can I do about the effects of hard water on my hair and skin?

I live in an apartment and we don't have soft water. My hair used to be beautiful but now it's a mess; frizzy, dull, dry, etc. Does anyone know how I can "fix" my hair?

I already use hot oil treatments and I deep condition and I condition it every time I wash it (I have to wash it daily because of my job-I have ALWAYS washed it daily).

Also my skin is really dry even though I moisturize faithfully. Moving is not an option because I still have 6 months left on my lease).

What can I do about the effects of hard water on my hair and skin?
It's definitely a good choice to have a water softener installed and It needn't be expensive. Washing hair daily is bad for hair and scalp and washes out essential oils, makes unhealthy. And if you blow dry that also harms hair. Hard water results in rashes and skin and scalp problems because it changes the skin's pH and soap remains on the skin, clogging pores makes skin dry. When bathing, you generally need more soap or shampoo and must rinse more thoroughly. Check out shampoos made for hard water.(Do a Google search) Ordinary moisturizing will never be sufficient. You need a mild cleaner like tea tree oil face wash and to frequently massage thoroughly with tea tree oil. You will see a difference in as little as a week.

Calcium and magnesium react with many soaps and detergents, diminishing their lathering or cleaning capability and forming a scum that is difficult to rinse away. Also causes spotted dishes and scale on cookware.%26amp; causes bathtub ring and tile scum - meaning more cleaning and cleaners. Also In the laundry you need more cleaning products and other products and you get gray, stiff clothing. So considering everything and extra water usage, even if only for 6 months, you will probably be much healthier and better off economically getting a softener.

In addition to selling and installing a water softener, some softener firms provide a service where they regularly exchange exhausted with charged units.

Sears for one are pre-screened water treatment installers

Reply:I don't know what to do about your skin. When I have had to live with hard water, I used "clarifying shampoo" on my hair. Suave brand makes a clarifying shampoo that is inexpensive and really works. (there must be other brands too that make a clarifying shampoo) It gets all the minerals off your hair. The reason it doesn't help your hair to put oil treatments etc. on it, is because then you're adding even more stuff onto the hairshafts. Try the shampoo.
Reply:I have the same problem, I think! One thing I'd suggest, which is something I'm also considering, is Jonathan Product's Beauty Water Shower Purification System. It hooks right up to your shower head. Pricey, but looks to be worth it.
Reply:Clarifying shampoo, deep conditioning once a week, condition your hair more frequently, don't blow dry your hair as often)...I use something called Beyond the Zone to help with fly aways. You can get it at a beauty supply store.

How can I get rid of horrific stretch marks? What about the loose skin?

I'm 17 and gained close to 60 lbs in the course of a year due to an eating disorder and reliance on comfort food for emotional stress.

In the process I gave myself HORRIBLE deep purple stretch marks all over my chest, thighs, lovehandles and especially on my stomach.

It's worse than a pregnant woman!

I'm losing weight now that over the last few months I've tried to change my ways. If I lose weight slowly, will I still have loose skin?

What are your remedies/product suggestions to help fade the stretch marks?

How can I get rid of horrific stretch marks? What about the loose skin?
* Skin Creams and Lotions – Lotions containing cocoa butter are rumored to not only help reduce stretch marks, but to help prevent them entirely. Any cream or oil that is made specifically for the prevention or treatment of stretch marks will help keep your skin healthy and elastic.

* Vitamin A, E %26amp; C – Supplementing these vitamins may help increase the strength and elasticity of the collagen within your skin and reducing your chance of forming stretch marks.

* Stay hydrated.

# Time – Stretch marks, like all types of scarring fade over time.

# Retin-A (Tretinoin) – 0.1% Tretinoin creams have been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of stretch marks. These creams work best when used on fresh stretch marks.

# Exfoliate daily – use a loofah or scrunchy to remove daily.

# Stretch Mark Creams and Lotions – Using creams and lotions that heal and beautify your skin can reduce the appearance of stretch marks. The following ingredients are widely accepted as beneficial for this purpose:

* Cocoa butter

* Rose hip oil

* Emu oil

* Jojoba oil

* Castor oil

* Shea butter

* Vitamin A, E %26amp; C

# Vic’s Vapor Rub – Many people have reported success using Vic’s Vapor rub by applying it to a washcloth or paper towel and rubbing it forcefully into the scarred skin on a nightly basis for a few weeks.

# Increase Circulation – by taking hot baths and massaging the areas regularly.

# Tanning – Go sunbathing! Tanning can diminish and even eliminate minor stretch marks. Be sure to use sun screen.

# Vitamin E Gel – Break open vitamin E capsules and rub the oil into the skin over the stretch marks daily for 2 weeks.
Reply:At your age, the loose skin should go back to normal, whether it is a slow weight loss or not. The plasticity of a person's skin depends on your genetics.

For the stretch marks, I recommend using cocoa butter, or lotion specifically designed for pregnant women to use on stretch marks.

What would cause hair and puss to ooze out of a skin pore?

I know somebody who has a very deep poor on their face. Occasionally puss will ooze out of it with a bad odor. It has been there for a couple of years. Recently the person was squeezing the poor and several small hairs and puss came out. I know this is gross, but I really care about the person and am concerned that it could be something serious. There is also a bump under the skin close to this pore.

What would cause hair and puss to ooze out of a skin pore?
I think it is an ingrown hair. Next time, try to get a pair of tweezers to pluck the hair out and there are special creams that sell in drug stores for ingrown hairs. If neither of these things work, your friend need to see a dermatologist.
Reply:sounds like a seriously ingrown hair
Reply:that is considered a ingrown hair. the only way to fix that is laser hair removal
Reply:its just an infected in-grown hair, no big deal
Reply:that person should be dead
Reply:Ahh..the old "I know somebody" routine...this somebody wouldn't happen to be YOU now, would it? :P Just playin. My girl read this question, she says it is either an in-grown hair or an infected folicle...whatever that means...hope it helped!

My face is feeling stiff and flaking because of the weather change. What's a good deep moisturizer?

I've got acne prone skin, and I use Benzoyl Peroxide to keep it under control (and it's working great). The problem is that now the weather is getting drier here and between the drying effect of the BP and now the dry air outside my skin (mainly my face, since that has both drying sources on it) is feeling very stiff and it's starting to flake.

I do use a daily moisturizer, but it's just not enough right now I guess. What is a good, oil free (or otherwise non-comdengenic) *deep* moisturizer?

Do those mask moisturizers work well? I'd feel funny in one but if it worked I'd get over it lol.

Anyway, I just need some advice on products that work for you.

Thanks :)

My face is feeling stiff and flaking because of the weather change. What's a good deep moisturizer?
I have a solution to both your acne problem and your dryness problem! It works great for me when I over-clean my face. Peroxide is not really good for you, because it eats your skin like acid.

Pop all your pimples, then wash your face thoroughly with regular bar soap (not liquid soap, because it leaves a residue), making sure to rinse well. Dry your face with a towel, not paper, because paper cuts your skin with tiny splinters. Rub Neosporin liberally all over your face, and go to sleep. When you wake up, you may have to use a towel to get the rest of the Neosporin off of your face, but your skin will be moist and pimple-free! Neosporin kills bacteria that cause pimples, and (believe it or not) your skin needs oil to stay moist!

The only drawback to this is that the towel and your pillowcase will get Neosporin on them, and since Neosporin is oil-based, it's hard to get out in the laundry. Pick a towel and pillowcase that is old, and only wash them together, using bleach to kill germs and remove dirt that doesn't come out with regular laundry detergent.

You can feel free to take a shower in the morning after you do this treatment, and even if you wash your face (as long as you don't scrub too hard or use BP), your skin will stay moist all day.

Like I said, your skin needs oil to stay moist. Why do you think your skin puts out oil? The oil protects the top layer of cells, and helps the dead cells to stay smooth and not pull the healthy ones loose. That's why people who wash thier hands a lot have cracked skin. The oil that should be helping to smooth out the dead skin is gone. The reason that you don't like oil is that it makes your nose shine. Well, that's simple - just use a towel to wipe your nose free of the excess oil - gently.
Reply:Ponds.

works VERY well

all different kinds for different skin types
Reply:To get rid of the flaking you can wash your face with milk.

Skim milk if your skin is oily. Regular milk can be used otherwise.

A paste make from powdered milk and water can be used as a mask at night. Let it sit for as long as you want the rinse it off.
Reply:Do you use a toner? So many of our problems with skin can be remedied with a toner. A toner brings the skins mantle back to the proper pH balance.

My Arbonne website is listed below if you want to check it out. I would be happy to send you a free sample of our mens skin care line. Arbonne uses botanically based ingredients and are pH correct, which is good for your skin.

I also found this article on CCN about mens skin care you may find helpful.

Reply:hey. get the hydrating creme concentrate from Bee Royal. it hydrates. it works different than moisturizers because it doesn't have oils or petroleum that just sit on top your skin and smother it. this moisturizer is absorbed and let's your skin breath.

Cat Bite Healed but now I have lumps under my skin??

I got bitten by a cat 3 weeks ago and the puncture marks healed but then over the last week I noticed lumps coming up from underneath where each tooth hit.... I thought at first it was just scar tissue building up underneath because the cats teeth sunk in pretty deep but its not that. I know its not scar tissue because they are GETTING BIGGER! And there is also one long and thin lump that is in between the bite marks. It feels almost like there is a little tube in my arm. There is a total of 4 lumps --all different shapes and sizes-- they do not really "swell out" on my arm they are hard balls underneath my skin...sorry for all the details I am just confused as to what they are... The doctor gave me antibiotics to take when the bite first happened and I took them (well ok I took 2 days worth of the 10 day presciption but I did take some of them)

I just dont know what they are I have looked at webmd and healthline and etc. and none of the websites mention this at all DOCS PLEASE HELP

Cat Bite Healed but now I have lumps under my skin??
Go back to the doctor ASAP. This time, take ALL of the antibiotics or request a penicillin shot; they give you a ten day supply for a REASON.
Reply:Please go to the doctor or an allergist even. It sounds like you might be somewhat allergic to the cats saliva that bit you, even if you are not allergic to cats all together this is still possible. You probably need to take an entire script of antibiotics or something else like an allergy shot. Some cats saliva can be very harmful so please go soon, I speak from experience!!!!
Reply:Cat bites can cause serious illness. It is not to be taken lightly. You have an infection and need to go back to the doctor or at least get back on those antibiotics and don't miss a dose!! I strongly recommend going back to the

doctor. He will not be happy but better safe than sorry.
Reply:When a doctor gives you medicine, especially an antibiotic, you are supposed to take them all! Finish taking your prescription of anti-biotics. Why do think he gave them to you? Now, you're going to have to back to your doc and tell him you didn't do what he told you to do. He may give you more and stronger medicine this time.

Hi I waxed my upper lip myslef and i ripped out alot of skin its now a red wound will there be any scarring?

Should i be leaving it alone totally or should I be applying vaseline to it my mom said thats good for that kind of stuff ... plz help

Hi I waxed my upper lip myslef and i ripped out alot of skin its now a red wound will there be any scarring?
Did it bleed? Then you really, really need to see a dermatologist, who might be able to give you special medicine and bandages to prevent scarring. If not, use your own judgement.

My friends were just talking about a lady who had permanent scars from waxing her upper lip . . . . Better safe than sorry.
Reply:Use triple antibiotic ointment. It will reduce the chance of scaring and infection. You can buy it at the pharmacy without a prescription.
Reply:Ouch! I did that once but to my chin. The price we pay for beauty, huh? It shouldn't scar but just to be sure, try a neosporin or cocoa butter. Vaseline is good too. Anything that will keep the skin well moisturized should aid in the healing process and help prevent scarring
Reply:I did that once too, it hurt like a ***** and it looked horrible afterwards.. It sucked. I didn't have any scarring though...

What is a good fall 07 hair color for me?I have medium to pale skin, natural dark brown hair & blue/green eyes?

What is a good fall 07 hair color for me? I was thinking maybe a deep/dark red... what do you think? I want a color that matches my skin tone. If I dyed my hair a dark red, would it look weird with naturally dark brown eyebrows? Do you know of a website for good hair colors with pics? THANKS!

What is a good fall 07 hair color for me?I have medium to pale skin, natural dark brown hair %26amp; blue/green eyes?
Check with your hair stylist at the saloon.
Reply:Auburn.
Reply:i would go with black hair sort of wavy style would look best
Reply:Your eyebrows will look fine...don't know of any websites but I color my hair all the time. If your hair is already dark brown, I'd try mahogany or chocolate cherry. Don't know of any websites either..sorry!
Reply:i think you should keep the color, dark hair and blue/green eyes are pretty
Reply:i have same skin and eyes like you and my hair is nice honey blond/brown.i think dark red will suit you as well but you will need to do somthing with you eyebrows.
Reply:Deep dark red isnt the color to go if you have pale skin.. I have pale skin aswell and ive gone red before and it just doesnt suit because it makes you look even more pale and alot of people think it makes you look like your sick.. I suggest a dark brown.. if you want the red.. go for a Auburn kinda color.. get a tint of red/orange.. dont go red though..
Reply:Dark auburn dye or auburn highlights would probably look nice with your complexion and still look natural with your eyebrows. You could also try medium to light brown highlights in your hair. Sorry I don't have a website. :/
Reply:I'd say an auburn possibly with lighter highlights like a strawberry blonde. I used to dye my hair fire-engine red in the fall and I have light blue eyes with dark brown hair and light skin. It made my eyes pop and complemented my complexion perfectly
Reply:I would suggest going into a wig shop and trying some wigs on in the colors you are courious about, that way all you have to do if you are not sure is take the wig off and you haven't made a goof with your hair. if you have light to medium skin with dark eyes you might want to think of multi highlights, copper, dark bronze, mahogany this would play up your features and eye color and look much more natural than dying your hair one color. Blended natural looking highlights are big this fall.
Reply:Try Temporary Dye first to see how you like it.

Hey! What kind of face wash is the best for your skin?

I have some noticable pores but other then then my face is pretty clear. I generally don't use face wash with the microscrub cause i always thought when I looked up close it was like damaging my skin. Not very noticably but if you looked real close. idk. Are they better tho cause they get deep done to the pores or are they worst and is ity just better to use one without the microscrubbers.

Hey! What kind of face wash is the best for your skin?
Well, Biore has a great line for pores. It's called Pore Perfect and can be found in all kinds of stores, even Wal-mart. For acne, try proactive, or clearisil.
Reply:Netrogena
Reply:Use cottom balls and listerine to clean your face nightly. Regular toothpaste for breakouts, no whiteners or bleaching agents, just regular toothpaste.

What are these lumps on my neck under the skin.....?

There are a few odd lumps of something under my skin on my neck. The last side of my neck where the main ones are also has a lot of pain if I move it the wrong way and just in general.

Sometimes I get tingley pain up my neck when I take deep breaths that feels like when your foots asleep and u wake it up.

lump A is long on left side of my neck, where the pain seems to be, it almost feels like a hardened vain (thin hard feeling which can be followed up my nect ) leads to a hard mass slighter larger then the hard vein feeling part then ENDS. It is hard and unmovable. Directly below and to the right within a inch is a movable mass which feels like a lymph node (lump B).

Lump C is on the back of my spine on my neck almost like a ligament attached wise, not sure if its a lump but it just appeared one day and seems to be movable and raised up from the other spine parts. directly above and below it are deffinately lower then it. Not painful...

What are these lumps on my neck under the skin.....?
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww om u got orangotitus
Reply:possibly swollen lymph nodes. See a doctor.

What are some tips for applying make-up to deep set eyes?

I have very deep set hazel eyes and I feel like eyeliner or mascara ends up giving me raccoon eyes. I have dark brown hair and mid-toned skin (not pale, not tanned). Any good tips for colors of eye shadow, too?

What are some tips for applying make-up to deep set eyes?
i have deep set brown eyes and mid toned skin tooo. this is what i do.... okay never skip mascara! mascara is a must. but dont put it on the bottom. dont use dark eye shadows on the lids becasue your eyes wont stand out from those. try some eyeliner just on the top of the upper lash line. use whatever color you like as long as it is dark. to make your eyes pop use a light sparkly eye shadow on the brow bone. shimmery beige colors look great on lighter skin tones. for your eye color...blue and olives will for sure make your eyes pop out.

Good Luck!!! :)

never use vaseline...it is horrible for your face, save that for hands and feet.....go to the drugstore and get hydrocortisone cream, 1%...this will help immensly and you will see results immediately.....
Reply:Hello,

To prevent dry skin on your face, use Clinque dramatically different lotion. It works great. One squirt goes a long way. = ]♥
Reply:I would get a prescription medicine for eczema. It is a condition that runs in my family and those medicines that a doctor prescribes are the only ones that help!

Also, this sounds weird, but Mary Kay sells this "satin hands extra emollient night cream" that has helped me and my brother when we can't make it to the doc!
Reply:For sensitive areas you should used good thick lotions. I use suave sensitive skin. Its not greasy like other lotions.

Hope this helped.
Reply:Dove moisturizers may not work very well for dry skin. Try switching your moisturizer- nivea works well on a lot of dry skin types.

If you would like to try something natural, try rubbing clotted milk cream (malai) on you face every night.

Please avoid using soaps on your face. you will have to choose your face wash carefully. Avoid the ones that contain salicylic acid. After your face regains some moisture , you could try an apricot scrub.

hope this helps.

Massage your face with nourishing night cream every night before going to bed.

Avoid soaps that contains highly alkaline and detergents like washing sodas and powders which contain highly alkaline and drying ingredients

A home remedy is::- Mix together yoke(the yellow partof an egg),1 teaspoon of honey, 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil, and few drops of rose water.Apply this mask once a week.

Apply a sunscreen before going out.Avoid sun from 10am to 3pm.

I'm going to a class reunion and I want to look classy, sophisticated and successful. I have fair skin and I'm a big girl. I already have the right outfit and hair and jewelry... just don't know what to do for the nails. I have a deep brown MAC nail color that i love... Are the acrylics outdated?

yea acrylics look trashy now

go for the short nails with a reverse manicure you'll look classy and sheek!!

Who do I get my natural skin color back?

My natural skin color is about 10 shades lighter then I am right now. So my body is two toned (so my face and neck is a deep dark brown and the rest of my body is a medium brown). I don't tan and it didn't happen over summer. Does anybody know any skinlightening creams or anything that could help me?

Who do I get my natural skin color back?
it is because of constant sun exposure...first is avoid the sun (if possible) if not...use sun block...even if you are dark skin you still tan....a tan can take month to disappear..because of the constant exposure to sun on the most common areas...such as face , v-neck area, arms and legs...

Do CRT/TV screens damage your skin/eyes/face???

I remember reading somewhere that the large(deep) tvs and similar monitors(CRT) use Cathode rays to illuminate them, and that this radiation leaks out a little bit and can effect the eyes of someone who is watching closely. I assume the electrons will stop nearly instantly once the hit the air, rather they will almost stop but still drift. is it possible that they can effect our skin by ionising the molecular structure of the cells. if so how could this be healed/countered. and is it the same with 'flat' screens?

Do CRT/TV screens damage your skin/eyes/face???
There are several urban myths about this, but the reality is that crt's are harmless. You are likely to have problems due to poor posture/ ergonomics when working in front of a crt or flat panel monitor for extended periods of time - but you have nothing to fear from the monitor or t.v. itself.

this is what i would do

black liner with light gray eyeshadow just above your top eyelash.

blue liner with a dark blue eyeshadow jsut above your top eyelash mized with a light blue.

or purple liner with a cream eyesahdow jsut above your toplash.

it sounds crazy, but try it.

it looks great.
Reply:Purple and green eyeliners work best with brown eyes.
Reply:I would say dark brown eyeliner for the rims, not black or blue or green.

Eyeshadows: Find a different type of bronze. You could also try different shades of brown or even pink, but dont go for blue or green coz i tried them and it looked weird.

Warm colours for warm skin in earthy tones is best.

PS: Nothing is going to lighten up your eyes but you can make them stand out. Dont use dark colours though.
Reply:You should definitely try a light purple, light blue, or a sage green color. With dark eyes and a tan your eyes will definitely pop and look a lot lighter with a lighter eyeliner. Try it!!! GOOD LUCK! :)
Reply:Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is made from natural ingredients and makes your skin look great!
Reply:try a white eyeliner
Reply:jet black or charcoal work best on my dark brown eyes...it brings outthe red earthy tone of my iris :) should work for you too!

How do i get rid of deep scars on my face?

I have a habit of scratching the layer of skin that is even a little bumpy because sometimes I am OCD and cannot withstand anything like that. I keep trying to scratch it thinking that it is a pimple and eventually the crap will come out of it. This has caused deep scars on my face and they arent going away. I have been using coco butter for a while and it hasnt helped. Any suggestions? I need to get these to go because i will be attending a wedding soon and i have stopped scratching the layers out now as well.

How do i get rid of deep scars on my face?
Soon? You're out of luck there. Scars don't go away overnight - even if you treat them well, you're looking at months or more likely years to see significant results.
Reply:there for ever
Reply:Don't use cocoa butter, it causes mor ebreakouts and get a scar peel at the drugstore. Also try some Maderma(scar gel or cream.)
Reply:ok.a little facts here.cocoa butter is the worst thing to put on your face, when you put a fatty substance like that on your face, no wonder your pores will get clogged and breakout.Just wash it, drink ALOT of water, and stay out of the sun, and get enough sleep.Over time you will notice that they will start to get lighter, and sometimes when you dont pick on them, they will heal...but if you aggitate them constantly..then your asking for more trouble.glad to help in anyway.

Is it better (a good thing) to stay away from the sun forever to protect my skin from sun damage?

I like to stay indoors, especially away from the sun since sun ages your skin faster. If I go out, I would like to have an umbrella over to protect my skin from the sun. I don't ever want to expose my skin to the sun ever again after getting many sunburns (I've had at least 8) in my lifetime. All those years of sun damage has given me wrinkles and deep, fine lines under my eyes. So I really regret not using any sun protection.

I've been thinking of using sun protection (like SPF 50), but I'm afraid that it might not protect my skin completely from the sun. So isn't it better to keep my skin away from the sun forever (meaning never expose my skin to the sun)?

Is it better (a good thing) to stay away from the sun forever to protect my skin from sun damage?
It seems like you don't want the sun to ruin your skin but to me, you're taking it a little too far. I bet no one even notices those lines either. I'd rather have wrinkles than be like Jacko and walk around with an umbrella.
Reply:hum? well i would say not for ever but yea a Little bit try to stay out of the sun

xoxoxo Vanessa.m
Reply:I think it can be bad to totally avoid the sun because the sun provides us with vitamin D which is really necessary for our bodies to have. But in the strong sun you should wear sun protection, and its good you use factor 50, I use that one too cos I'm scared of getting badly burnt. But that will definitely protect you from sun damage, you won't need to worry about staying indoors if you're using a factor that high.
Reply:Well, sun are good and human could ab-sort the vitamin from the sun. I like to stay indoor do my daily works, or stay in the shopping centre such as West-field where are also indoor. But sometime I like to contact with the sun, do not expose under the sun for long hour. May be, you can stay outside have a walk in the morning or in the evening to avoid the sun burns. That is some exercise I like to do (walking). I think the sun won't hurt you so deeply.

For the winkle or lines, you better drink more water daily, and put some facial moisturise cream on you face and skin will improve.
Reply:as long as you wear sunscreen (SPF50 is good enough), you can expose yourself to the sun.. that doesn't mean overexposing between the hours of 10am-3pm.. avoiding the sun forever can affect your regular daily routines.. enjoy life but protect your skin. :-)

Can't shave because of an infection//dry skin//hair removal not working well =[?

Hey guys. So, I have boils. I had to have some lanced, and one even surgically removed because the infection was so deep. Anyway, because of the MRSA scare, and since I tested positive in my cultures, NOT my blood. (BIG difference, MRSA is the blood is what is hitting the news and killing people. MRSA just means a staph infection). Anyway, I have been fighthing this for months, and its not getting better. I went to a new surgeon the other day, and sadly I am on my anti-biotics, which can actually give someone boils, but only for 10 days and then Im off for good. The problem is, that my surgeon sad NO shaving for atleats one month because if I have any open skin, I am asking for another one.

Another problem isthat I have EXTREMELY dry skin, and my legs usually get so bad in the winter that I end up scrtach them until the bleed. So, I can't let them dry out anymore than they already have. But I really need to get this hair off my legs. I used the Senstive Nair, it didn't really work. =[

Can't shave because of an infection//dry skin//hair removal not working well =[?
Hi. I recommend you use Revitol hair removal Cream. Being that you have really sensitive skin this product is perfect for you. The cream is made with all natural ingredients, also this product comes with a 100% money back guarentee. If you would like more information I am more than happy to provide you with the website.
Reply:Any hair removal method, like waxing or epilation, could potentially open your skin and spread the infection. You have to listen to your doc. It will itch like hell, but can you use lotion? It sucks, but you don't want to make it worse. It's kind of like having chicken pox. Can't scratch them either.
Reply:sounds messy
Reply:hi i seem to understand you however you still can shave!! get one of those razors without no blades!! i think they are Veels or one like that!! and as for as the itching legs, i use palmers cocobutter after i get out of the shower of bath. This lotion has a lot of vitimans and oils for which your legs need. just reapply when needed!!
Reply:well if i were you i would stick to tennis shoes and jeans for a while because i remember when i was 13 and i had the chicken pocks so i put calimine lotion on and hid it under my pants and long socks . ps. hope you get better : )

Body Wash Sweatin Out Of SKin ?

i use dove deep moisture body wash and about an hour after i use it n dont really put lotion on i start to smell the body wash like its sweatin out of my skin should i stop usin or ? is it cuz i dont put lotion on

Body Wash Sweatin Out Of SKin ?
I don't think it's coming out of your pores or anything. What is probably happening is that it leaves a small amount on your skin when it dries. Then when your body heats up or gets sweaty, the smell of the soap is activated again... that's why they tell you to put perfumes on your pulse points- it is warmer so it lets off the scent more readily.

Recommend some good products to cover the seriously deep freckles.?

my skin color is not quite white, but a little yellow,I'm Chinese. There are many deep color freckles on my face,I want a product which can cover up all the freckles so that no one can be seen.

Recommend some good products to cover the seriously deep freckles.?
i have freckles too, and fairly pale-ish skin.

you'll never be able to cover them up completely, unless you really cake on the foundation.

best thing to do is just wear a light foundation (mainly for day time and a heavier when when going out at night) and apply a bit of powder to make it stay.

it wont cover them completely but it'll help blend it all in and make them not stand out quite as much.

you should love and embrace your freckles, because you've got them for life!
Reply:No such product is yet in existance.

If you are really intent on removing them, talk to your friendly neighborhood plastic surgeon.

I use the yellowish concealer for under eye and the greenish one for red blemishes, then the foundation over it. It covers really well and lasts all day. They have some warm foundations that look kinda yellowish.

What's the best skin product for... ?

I have dry skin and sometimes I have small blemishes. I need a brand that I can wear make-up but during the night I can get a wash or scrub for deep cleaning on my pores. I wear non-comdegenic, non-acnegenic, and hypoallergenic make-up. Plz help!

What's the best skin product for... ?
OK Use this product called Papaya Enzyme Cleanser and use Papaya Scrub. Both are made by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics and it uses all natural papaya enzymes to gently and naturally strip away oils, dirt and dead skin. Plus the papaya enzymes will help normalize your pH levels. Do a Google search for Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. I would post the link but I have been having trouble with that. Yahoo keeps giving me an error code. Don't know what that's all about. Your skin will look and feel great with these.

Right now I'm going thru a dry patch due to early menopause, and Olay is the best product that I have found. Grain of sand splintered deep into my finger?

i was at the beach yesterday and i threw a sandy rock into the ocean and a grain of sand cut through the skin and lodged into my fingertip. i tried to get it out, but my fingers were dirty. i let it be after about 20 minutes assuming there was nothing in there, but today it's a little red and hurts to put pressure on it, as though it were a shard of glass. it looks like a tiny water blister, but the pain makes me think that the grain is clear and that's what i'm seeing. it's deep and went in on an angle so there's no way i can get to it with tweezers or a needle. can this cause infection? HOW can i get it out myself?

Grain of sand splintered deep into my finger?
I warn you, this is gonna sound completely crazy but I swear it works. Get a little piece of uncooked bacon fat, cover the spot and bandage it up well so that the bacon stays in place. Leave it there overnight.. Something in the bacon fat draws the irritation to the surface so that you can take it out with tweezers.

I learned this from my great-grandmother, who was the local medicine woman/midwife in the Ozark Mountains in the 19th century. I've used it several times on really stubborn splinters and thorns that I couldn't get out any other way.
Reply:Lol Alice K..... I'm going to try that some day!!

I got so mad at this exact same thing one time I took out my knife and mangled my finger 'til it was out.... I wouldn't recommend that.

Maybe a warm water soak would help?

Girls...Is this bad for your skin?

I use clean and clear deep cleaning astringent and have been for about 2 years or 1 and a half years. I like it because you look at you cotton pad and can see how great it takes away dirt and makeup. It works good and keeps away pimples. I sometimes feel it burning my face a little afterwards. It DOES have alcohol in it..its an alcohol cleaner I believe. So my question is, is alcohol based face cleansers bad for your skin? I want to have nice skin when i'm older so will this do anything to it? It is a harsh cleanser. I am 17 also.

Girls...Is this bad for your skin?
yes alcohol toners can age the skin... if you don't get bad acne, just a pimple here or there i suggest you switch toners...if i were you i would use witchhazel mixed with alittle water, you can get it at the grocery store and it's cheap in a big bottle...this will fight pimples and bacteria but it's not as harsh as alcohol toners...if you want you can then use a lotion with salicylic acid in it, thats what is actually fighting breakouts in your clean and clear not the alcohol...so something without alcohol with the breakout fighting power(try neutrogena multi-vitamin acne treatment-it's a lotion and you can use it all over your face)...most importantly to keep your skin young as long as possible...wear sunscreen!!!!!!
Reply:If its working for you and its not irritating your skin, then you might as well keep losing it. There's just a general worry that alcohol, overtime, may affect the skin and sebaceous glands under it, negatively. I don't know what percent or how much alcohol it uses, but you could check with your dermatologist or your doctor and ask what he/she thinks. Or you could reserach the product yourself and find out the amount of alcohol that is used in the product and whether anything else is used to perhaps neutralize it to a degree..

Hope this helps, good luck!
Reply:Its ok for your skin. The weird tingly feeling after you put it on means that its doing its job and making your skin better. I would keep using it to get pimples away.

If you dont like my answer then dont do the things i tell you to do :P oh and BTW im a dude :P
Reply:hopefully you are not alergic to it, if this keeps up or gets worse you should see someone about it. in fact just to be extra safe you should go see a dermatologist and he/she will answer all your questions. Good Luck!!!
Reply:All alcohol based cleaners are harsh so you need to make sure you keep your face moisturized with a moisturizer and not a plain lotion, otherwise you could develop dry skin and it can cause eczema in the long run.
Reply:alcohol dries out your skin so you could put a moisturiser on after
Reply:you should moisturize your skin every night to keep your skin look always fresh and young.

What is the best facial system to use for oily skin?

ive used the neutrogena deep clean system and the biore shine control system, which lead to dry skin. im willing to try other biore products or a whole new system, just as long as their easy to find at like target and stuff.

What is the best facial system to use for oily skin?
You may just need to use a moisturizer. Neutrogena products are very good. They have oil-free moisturizers specifically for oily skin.
Reply:I've tried the really expensive items and found that Mary Kay Oil Control Lotion is the best. Doesn't leave your face dry at all no oil break through either. Just smooth soft skin. If you don't know anyone who sell it, go on line to marykay.com and you will find sales.

Worth a try.
Reply:just use neutrogena deep clean and some moisturiser with it like in the morning use moisturtiser and before u sleep use neutrogena . For mosturise i use spectro derm workes like a charm

workes with me!

hope i helped!
Reply:Skin becomes oily because of over production of Sebum. Oily skin feels greasy throughout the day, even right after washing. In many cases, clogged pores are the culprits here and non-comedogenic products will help clean your skin without blocking pores. Try to use Lancome Pure Focus Shine Control it will transforms oily skin to a matte yet hydrated all day long or you may also use Phytomer OligoPur Balance Emulsion, it is refreshing and non greasy, giving your skin just a right glow
Reply:I used to have extremely oily skin and then found Aloette cosmetics. I use the cleansing system and the makeup. Its wonderful. I blot once a day and the makeup really stays put all day. Make sure that whatever you do don't change products; stick to one brand and don't wash to often.
Reply:i can't recommend a certain product since your skin is probably different from mine, but use a cleanser that isn't too drying, so that when you use it you don't feel squeaky clean or tight. Because if you clean your face too much and too often, your face will naturally start to produce more oil to counter the dryness from the excessive washing.
Reply:Proactiv works really well, some people say it dries out your skin, but I never had a problem with that, St. Ives apricot scrub is also great.
Reply:Try staying in the sun at the beach and your skin should turn smooth have fun.
Reply:I too find the sun does wonders for my skin on my face. Tanning beds too. Makes my acne clear right up. I am moving to hawaii, not really but i bet there i would havegreat skin all year
Reply:ugh..a lot of good answers but sweetty..

sometimes oil does help.. slow the aging process..

block dirt..

just dont overdo the cleansing stuff..

and scrub on your face??? not a good idea :(

Why does my skin take so long to heal?

I cut my hand on a pint pot about a month ago and although it didnt need stitches, it was a deep gash.

I still have an angry pink scar on my hand 5 weeks later.

Is that normal? Should the skin not have totally healed by now?

Why does my skin take so long to heal?
no, some scars stay for a very long time, so there's nothing wrong with you

i got hurt once and the scar lasted for years, literally
Reply:You should not eat too much sugar. Sugar makes the wounds heal slower. Cut down on sweets and sugar in tea. Then see.
Reply:eat more zinc
Reply:well..i guess it's normal dude............if u'r still tn convinced..go ask a doc.
Reply:Possibly it did need stitching, cuts can be deeper than realised.
Reply:it should of healed but there's probably something wrong with you or probably the scar is really bad it could stay there permanently.
Reply:is your scar still hurts? do you take some medication for infection or something you just take amoxicillin... you can buy this at affordable price visit http://www.drugstoretm.com/Online_Pharma...
Reply:see, different people have different amount of antibodies in them .the peoples who poses more antibodies aremore prone to diseases and their healing power is alsomore.intake of vaccines consulted by docters can be helpful.so,don't worry about it.
Reply:People who are diabetic have slower healing skin, as do people with red (ginger) hair. I'm not making this up - my son (who has ginger hair) had surgery and his consultant was surprised at how quickly the wound healed, considering, as the consultant said, that redheaded people have slower healing skin.
Reply:i dont know your age. but check you diabetise
Reply:if the wound is still 'angry', that suggests there's a bit of an infection in there.

What should I do about a deep crack in my foot?

I have/had a bunch of warts on my feet and have tried several ways to get them to go away. Consequently, my skin is very dry and rough on the ball of my foot and has developed two cracks. One crack is pretty deep and has just started to hurt. It's not bleeding, but it's definately deeper and red. I just started putting lotion on it. But is there anything else I should be doing?

What should I do about a deep crack in my foot?
Apply a moisturizing cream twice daily to the affected heels, such as flexitol heel balm

Use pumice stone to reduce the thickness of the hard skin.

Avoid open backed shoes or thin soled shoes

Buy shoes with a good shock absorbing sole

Never try to pare down the hard skin your self with a razor blade or a pair of scissors!
Reply:I think you should first put on something like an foot cream and if that doesn't help, go see a doctor...they can tell you the right treatment..
Reply:If the crack in your foot is that deep, you probably need to put something on it besides lotion. I would suggest getting over the counter triple antibiotic ointment and putting in and on the crack. Then I would put a large amount of vaseline, or good lotion on my feet and cover them with socks. Do this every time you are at home, and sleep with them on. The socks will hold in the moisture and also prevent you from falling from the grease on your feet. If you develop any drainage from the crack, redness of the foot, increase pain or streaks up your leg, see your MD immediately. Hope this helps!
Reply:First you probably have plantar warts and the only way to get rid of them, and you do want to, is to have them froze by a doctor.

As for the cracks, lotion is not going to do it. Try some Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (I add vitim E to mine) and bandage it. Also if you use waterproof bandage tape, tape it across the crack after you have pulled it together. The best way is to apply one end of the tape on one side of the crack and then pull tight across the crack and place the other side of tape on.

What is "mulatto skin"?

My friend is black we were at work when a guy came in he asked her did she have any asian in her because she had funny looking eyes. She replied no and he told her she was gorgeous but she looked like she had asian in her and insisted someone deep in her family was asian but didn't tell her.She has been asked if she was half hispanic and native american one of my friends say it's cause she has that "mulatto skin" i don't know what that is she isn't beyonce's color she is a tiny bit lighter than halle berry but has reddish hair she looks black to me.

What is "mulatto skin"?
In this case, I think your friend is just referring to her definition of what the skin of a mixed-race person should look like.
Reply:It means part white and part black.
Reply:Mulatto are those who are half black/half white.
Reply:Mulatto is just a light skinned black person.
Reply:mulatto is just 2 races.
Reply:It is bi-racial. partialy black and something else light colored.
Reply:Mulatto is the term called for people that have a mixed colored skin. Like black and white mix, mexican and white, mexican and asian and so on.
Reply:1 : the first-generation offspring of a black person and a white person

2 : a person of mixed white and black ancestry
Reply:She could have West Indies in her background like I do. There were irish people sent there to be slaves and they were mixed with the people there.

That was VERY rude of the guy who kept insisting things about your friend, someone he didn't even know.

Mulatto skin is a mix of black and white skin. Comes from the french and spanish down in New Orleans.
Reply:It means she is part white and part black. The reddish hair most likely comes from her white side.
Reply:Mulatto means offspring of one black parent and one white parent.
Reply:The term "mulatto" is used to describe a person of both Caucasian and African descent, or having one parent that is white, and another parent that is black.

It comes from early history, during the expansion of Europe into other countries. As Europeans and Africans (usually as slaves) became integrated into a more mixed society, there was a rise in the mulatto class.

Your friend is probably described as having "mulatto skin" because she does not look 100% African, just like how the mulatto people are half black, and half white.
Reply:It comes from mulus in Latin. It was were we got the word mule as well which is half donkey half horse. But mulato means some one who is half white half black, or describeing someone that has light brown skin.
Reply:Mullato is a term for someone of mixed white and black Blood.

Mestizo is someone of mixed Spanish and Native American blood.
Reply:Part Black and part white or Part Black and Part some other race. It means light skin color for blacks which means that they are half black and half another race.

Need some help on completeing my skin cleansing regime?

I use Effaclar foaming cleanser for a deep clean every morning afternoon and late night.

I play sports so in combination with it i use clearasil whenever needed(the pads)

I find neutrogena rapid spot gel is excellent for any hormonal pimples(around the time of the cycle), but i feel theres somthing yet missing.

I don't really want to use a moisturizer because my skin isn;t that dry at all.. I want my face to feel more radiant with my cleanser. I love my cleanser dearly because it keeps me clear most of the time, but i feel like my skin needs one more thing.

What can i add on in my regime?

Need some help on completeing my skin cleansing regime?
Cleansing, toning and moisturizing will give your skin a radiant, healthy glow. Toners remove excess oils, dirt and cleansers left behind after washing and pH balance your skin. Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner is a good one. It's oil-free, non-comedogenic, hypo-allergenic and very gentle. Moisturizers aren't just for dry skin. They help keep your skin hydrated and hydrated skin will give your a more radiant glow. Neutrogena also has oil-free moisturizers that are light-weight and absorb quickly. You can still use the spot treatment when needed and rapid spot gel is a good one.

I have dry skin and acne... help?

ok know it isnt that commen for people with dry skin to have acne.

i wouldent say its excessively dry, really just normal.

but my face wont ever get oily.

i suffer from mild acne, just on my forhead and the creases on my chin.

they are white heads, but they dont ever surface and they are way to deep to pop.

how can i get rid of this?

as of a couple days ago ive been using murad acne complex kit.

what else can i do?

does waching your face twice a day really work? and taking of your make up before bed?

I have dry skin and acne... help?
Do NOT take Kate B's advice. Putting your face in a steamer can and WILL cause spider vains on your face, and beleive me, I don't know one person who wants that.

As far as the acne goes. Try a SIMPLE cleanser. SIMPLE is the key word, you don't want harsh chemicals going onto your face to 'clean' it, because many of the harsh chemicals will leave residue on your face and what not, which will cause more acne.

May I suggest a cleanser from Paulas Choice? Google 'Paulas Choice' and try a few samples, they are cheap!
Reply:You really need to let your face relax!!!! Using too many harsh chemicals that are in the face washes and "acne rid" type products are not good for your face. I have about the same skin type. More dry than oily and occasional break outs on my chin and forehead area. The best thing I have found is to use gentle face cleansers such as ponds, or dove or purpose. These were recommended by my dermatologist. Also, don't over wash your face because that causes dryness. But, do wash your make up off each night.
Reply:bathe in cold water, then cover your face with peanut butter, it's hard to get off, but it's said to work. egg yolk is another alternative.
Reply:ive had allot of problems with bad skin ,every ones different but heres what i do : use a simple cleaner , one that you put on to cotten wool and it gets rid of dirt , every morning and evening ... taking make up of is realy important ... i think it leaves your skin feeling cleener any way , a gritty scrub is very good ... once a day min ... allso a facual steamer is good , you can buy them but to be honest i just use a pan of steaming water lol ... try not to use tones of facial treatments if its not realy bad ... try not to use make up for about 2 days and see if that makes a difference

hope i could be of some help xx
Reply:What products have you tried? I've used proactive and really love the results. You have to use it on a consistant basis but I saw results in about a week. Its a little pricey but I'd say well worth it.
Reply:The first thing you must realize is that an acne breakout is like arriving to a crime scene about 8 weeks late! You can use a spot treatment to help out - but you really need to address the problem before it gets to the breakout stage.

One of the biggest things that acne sufferers don't use is ...

moisturizer! I know - it sounds weird. Your face is oily - why would you moisturize?

If you've dried your skin out with products, you skin will produce more oil to balance itself out. However, if you use a moisturizer after treating your face, you add the vitamins %26amp; minerals your face needs.

If you are using something like murad, remember it will take about 8 weeks for the full effects to be seen so don't give up!

HELP!!! Anyone knows how to remove deep lines from the under eye lid?
I know that you mentioned you want to try and stay away from anti-aging skin care products. However, early 20's is the perfect time to start. I'm 27 and started using anti-aging products last year. If I would have know then what I know now, I would have started in my early 20's. You don't want to start using ANTI aging products after wrinkles and lines occur. Most lotions, cremes, and cleansers on the market contain mineral oil, the molecular structure is too large to penetrate the pores of your skin. These products will sit on the top layer like saran wrap, get wiped off over time, and give you little to no benefit. You need water based products that are hypoallergenic. Arbonne has a great anti-aging skin care system (1 of which is an eye cream) that is specifically formulated to decrease deep density lines, lighten under eye circles, and reduce puffiness. Research shows that 6 months continued use of the system will give a 68% decrease in deep density lines and wrinkles, however, you'll start to notice results in a week or two. These products are all ph correct, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, never tested on animals, formulated with animal bi products, water based, and contain 9 key anti-aging ingredients. I would be happy to send you a free sample if you would be open to giving it a try.

1 inch deep gash... now what!?

I was riding my dirtbike and I wrecked... The peg on the bike put a 1 inch wide and approximent 1 inch deep gash just below my knee cap. I rode back home and im not sitting on my desk. There is no pain and the bleeding has stoped now. What should I be doing now? So im sure I need stiches, or will I? I pushed the skin back together and right now its just taped. How much do stiches cost? I dont have insurance sorry to say. :(

1 inch deep gash... now what!?
Get in the shower and clean the wound really good.

Wash it with soap and try to flush it out really good with water. Once you are sure it is very clean use an antibiotic ointment on it.

Then make sure it is dry and bend your knee to make sure the skin will be stretched to it's limit. Pull the cut shut and then put small drops of Super-Glue on the skin to glue the cut shut. If done right it won't come open and it will heal really well. After a few days if you have any bad swelling or red streaks coming from the cut, go to the doctor because it is getting infected. Without insurance an ER visit will cost you a fortune. Definitely over a thousand dollars. Just do it yourself. If you don't want to use Super-Glue then use butterfly strips from the drug store. You can leave the wound open to heal from the inside out but you have to keep it very, very clean and maybe even pack it with a little guaze and change it every day. I would just Super-Glue it shut. Keep the Super-Glue on the outside of the skin though, don't squirt it into the wound. Just glue the outside skin together.

This method is used by many people. Especially in the wilderness were there are no doctors. It's an old survivalist trick. Now even emergency rooms are using liquid stitches. It's a skin adhesive like super-glue instead of stitches.
Reply:keep it clean and watch for infection I had something similar to that happen to my leg just above the knee cap and all i got from it was a scar.
Reply:you should probably get stiches for a 1" deep cut
Reply:You need stitches. See a Doctor. It needs to be cleaned to avoid infection.
Reply:i dont think stickes are that expensive. if u dont get stiches it probably wont heal right. and i also think u should get insurance soon.
Reply:You need stitches. Go the the emergency room at the Hospital. Let their administration staff work out the costs, they have ways.
Reply:i think u should stitch it. not too costly, i think.
Reply:Watch for an infection. Keep it clean. At the first sign of an infection go to the doctor. It would be cheaper to go to the doctors office then the emergency room.
Reply:If you live near a free clinic or a university medical center, give them a call and ask if they do stitches for people without insurance. In the meantime, keep it clean and covered and if you see any signs of infection get to an ER immediately.
Reply:The problem is the location of the cut. Bending your knee may open it up. if you can tape it tightly enough so it will not open up, you should survive. As long as the bleeding has stopped, it should be okay. Make sure you keep it clean. you can buy what they call butterfly bandages. they will help keep the skin together. You might want to wrap your knee so that you can't bend it.
Reply:There is no way you can get real good advice on your injury from someone who can't examine you, even if they are a doctor.

But rule number one is to make sure the wound is CLEAN. You did not mention washing it but you should have washed it real well with an antibacterial soap.

If there is any hint of dirt still left in it you do not want to get stitches. Stitches will just trap the dirt and germs and you will be asking for trouble. Just putting antibiotic ointment on it and a sterile dressing would be better than stitches if the wound is not completely clean.

If the gash penetrated the joint or the patellar tendon, and you get a joint infection or infected tendon sheath it could be real serious and painful.

You need a tetanus shot if you have not had a booster recently.
Reply:stiches are the best way to prevent the wound from getting infected....

i work in trauma icu-see plenty of nasty cuts and open wounds...

the doctor that does the stitches will thoroughly clean the wound out with a normal saline wash to make absolutely sure there are no reminents of dirt or germs inside the cut itself before stitching it up...

you'll probably only need 2-3 stitches-they take about 2 weeks to heal and then can easily be pulled out. you might also be able to use a special glue-like material called dermabond-the doctor will apply this directly over the cut to seal it closed-it will dissolved once the cut is healed....

if you choose not to get stitches, you run the risk of the wound getting infected and you'll have a pretty nasty scar b/c the cut won't close evenly.....

stitches are not overly costly-usually around 300.00 if done in an urgent care of emergency room, less if done in the doctor's office....

but i would definitely get it looked at-infection risk is higher if the cut is left open
