Do you know of any good homemade tricks to getting rid of acne bumps effectively?

I have bad acne, and when I get it, it gives my skin deep, dark scars. Not to mention, it itches a lot and even when I try not to scratch it, when I sleep I scratch my face up bad. It can never really heal, and my cell phone gets hot too which irritates my cheeks; which are the most roughly affected areas. It was mainly on my left cheek and now my cell phone heat has irritated my right cheek with little, red, rash-looking bumps on my right cheek. Anyways, are there any ways to get rid of these bumps within a week or so possibly? I need an effective method, something homemade and easy to do with a 5-10 minute skin primping daily morning routine.

Well, it sounds like you've got multiple issues going on.

You have acne severe enough to cause 'deep, dark scars', but you also have little red rash-looking acne caused by contact with your cell phone.

And it itches so badly you scratch in your sleep?

First, acne doesn't itch - so either you are also experiencing an allergy, or you're using an acne cream so drying that it's causing your skin to itch.

Either way, it sounds like you need to get a dermatologist involved. Accutane is excellent for acne severe enough to scar as you describe. Retin A (and cutting back on your cell phone use) should help the rash-looking acne, and the itching should stop when you change the products you're currently using.

Good luck -
Reply:i heard that toothpaste works.but ive never tried it.also a lot of my friends use proactiv. Its not homemade but it really worked for my friends.
Reply:An exfoliating scrub might help. If you don't want to buy one try mixing sugar and water to a rough, gritty paster and scrub with that.
Reply:this might sound like really crazy but like when u wash ur face in the shower..mixed baking soda and oil for olay [ the bar soap] it totally worked for me!~
Reply:When I was younger I used to have some problems...you can mix oatmeal with water and put the paste on your face for ten minutes to absorb oil before rinsing off. Facial masks of honey and apples are also helpful. I also tried mashed tomatoes. Olive oil probably helped me the most. I know it seems weird, adding more oil to your face, but it helped with the irritation, and olive oil didn't clog my pores at all. Dab some on before you go to bed, and in the morning, the good oils will have absorbed. Also, you can take a look at what you're eating. A lot of processed foods have preservatives in them that irritate your skin.
Reply:use orginal colgate toothpaste (the kind without any gel in it, only the white paste) and apply a thin layer to entire face (except around eyes) before you go to bed. it will harden overnight, so in the morning, either take a warm shower and gently rinse it off, or use a warm wet washcloth to gently scrub it off. but most of all STOP itching! it makes it one hundred times worse!

(by the way, the toothpast mask works- I've done it, and it works because it dries up the oils that cause and sustain acne.)

Reply:Try using a homemade facial mask, there are lots of websites about how to make one. Or make an organic scrub. I heard honey works as a spot treatment. And toothpaste, but I found that toothpaste doesn't do much for me.

Also, you might want to invest in some type of organic scrub like Burt's Bees. Most of the ingredients are natural and are good for your skin.
