Toxins in Skincare? No FDA warning?

I'm a product junky, and I love all the type of skincare, makeup, body products. Ok, so I came across this website called "skin deep" and it lists a thorough breakdown of products, the ingredients and the risk of cancer after long time use. For example, I looked up one product Estee Lauder Idealist, it stated that one ingredient which was rated in the product as a 16% factor to cause cancer. Thats alarming. I'm surprised that there are no safety labels, no fda approvals, not just for Estee Lauder but all the companies in the world that use chemicals in their products such as clean and clear, avon, johnson and johnson baby products...and so on.

Here are some of my concerns:

1. Should I be worried or this website is exaggerated?

2. dont the products need to have chemicals in them to perserve the product?

3. Do I now pretty much avoid all products so I wont be in contact with chemicals ?

website: http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep2/

you can look for ur product on there

Toxins in Skincare? No FDA warning?
I looked up several different brand names on the list and noticed a note that said:

"INFORMATION ABOUT PRODUCTS OR INGREDIENTS ON THIS PAGE HAS NOT BEEN REVIEWED OR APPROVED BY EWG AND MAY BE INCORRECT. The ingredient and product information on this page was entered by a consumer into EWG's database for personal, private use only; this draft profile is not publicly accessible from EWG's online website. The accuracy of product/ingredient information displayed on this page has NOT been verified by EWG nor the manufacturer, and neither party is responsible for any errors, including typographical errors incorrect ingredient names, or any other misrepresentations contained herein."

I wouldn't worry too much. If you have questions about products ingredients, you might be better off going directly to the source. It's really your greatest chance of getting the best info.
Reply:I have that website on my favorites. I seen all the things that are harmful but people are using these products anyway.

I have stopped using a lot of products shown because I have 2 children and want whats best.

I have been going through this website that does not contain chemicals for their products if interested heres the link

http://myladybeau.myarbonne.com

they contain no chemicals

Here's a Riddle?

I am never quite what I appear to be. Straight-forward I seem, but it's only skin deep, for mystery most often lies beneath my simple speech. Sharpen your wits, open your eyes, look beyond my exteriors, read me backwards, forwards, upside down. Think critically and answer the question...what am I?

No inappropriate answers, please.

"Unlock This Damn Door"

Miss Kitty Russell was in her bedroom when she heard voices on Front Street......... FAMILIAR voices!! Matt Dillon, her former boyfriend, and Sunshine MacGillicutty, HIS present girlfriend, and the BANE of Kitty's life!! She ran to her window and peeked out from behind the frilly curtain.

Matt : " Now sweetie. You just ride on back to the farm. I'll be home in a few hours........ I'm hungry for you, woman.....So be ready!!' He smiled and gave her a quick kiss.

Kitty, to herself:"If she says 'HEE HAW' one more time, I swear I'll......"

Sunshine:"HEE HAW, MattBaby !! I'm ready NOW!!!!" And with that, she spit out her gum, jumped in his arms, kissed him passionately and rode off in a cloud of dust!

Matt tugged on his jeans and whistled "Dixie" as he continued his evening rounds .

Kitty:" Sunshine! (3.) You're the ring around my bathtub, you're the hangnail of my life !!"

Kitty descended the stairs that led to the Long Branch Saloon and noticed old Doc Adams talking with Festus Haggen. She smiled and sat down with them.

Doc:"What a sight for sore eyes! Festus here was just telling me that he's going to buy us a round of beers."

Festus:"DOC!! I said no such thing! Whyyyyyyy, (6.) If the devil danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine !!"

Kitty laughed. Doc just rubbed his face , as was his usual custom.

It wasn't long before Matt walked in, surveyed the room and then came over to their table. He had just sat down when the swinging doors to the bar flew open. In walked (2.) Black Jack Fletcher and Mississippi Sam !! Everyone in the saloon stopped talking. Matt got to his feet......"(1.) Go back to Texas and Cheesy French Fry Lake, you two good for nothing cattle rustlers!!"

Black Jack:"Now Marshal, you know we done served our time for that. We're jest law biding citizens now. I've had a steel plate put in my head after that time you wounded me. We ain't gonna cause you no trouble. Right, Mississippi Sam?"

Sam was too busy feeling up one of the dancehall girls to respond.

Matt:"Uh huh........ I'll just BET you're law biding! I don't want your kind in town. "

Black Jack:"What are you trying to say , Dillon? "

Matt cleared his throat ....."Get the hell outta Dodge!!!"

(He loved using that phrase whenever possible!)

Mississippi Sam turned to face him......He had a pock-marked face that would scare the devil himself...... "Get lost, big man!!"

Matt:"Mister......(4.) Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone. Now GET OUT!!!"

The two desperados went for their guns. Matt fanned his pistol, killing both with just one bullet. The bullet had hit Black Jack on his steel plate, ricocheted and then lodged in Mississippi Sam's heart.

Festus:"Hell of a job, Matthew!!!"

Matt tipped his hat and strolled out of the bar.

Kitty , who had been hiding under the table, got up and brushed herself off. She watched Matt leave, knowing he was going home to Sunshine.

Kitty:" I've got (7.) That 'It's all over' feeling (all over again)."

Matt made record time to the farm. He ran up to the screen door but it was locked.

Sunshine smiled at him from her side......(Bonus)"This good girl's gonna go bad if you don't get yourself in here! Give us a kiss ducks!"

Matt:" (5.) I would kiss you through the screendoor but it'd strain our love, baby. Unlock this damn door!!"

Sunshine giggled and unfastened the latch. Matt scooped her up ,threw her over his shoulder and ran to the bedroom!!

And they tell me that for miles around, Sunshine MacGillicutty could be heard shouting, "HEEEEEEEEEEEE HAW !!"
Reply:Thank YOU, Kayboff. These phrases just screamed for a farce, Dodge City/Sunshine MacGillicutty style!! I had so much fun writing this. Report It

Reply:If you think those are tough, you must not get around much.

If you think those are phrases, look again. Five of the seven are complete sentences.
Reply:"Hon, I'm home," she called out. There was a rukus going on in the bedroom. She rushed down the long hallway into the master bedroom and found her beloved husband Jack in bed with her supposed best friend, Elaine. " Oh, my stars!! You low life Black Jack Fletcher, who is this Mississippi Sam? Get yore *** out of my house, both of you, GO!!!"

Jack realizing that he was in deep "do-do" whined, " But Babee, you're the love of my life, this was an accident."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard this before you know. But Jack, this time, I can truthfully say, 'You're the ring in my bathtub, the hangnail of my life.' I suggest that you take your silly *** %26amp; go back to Texas %26amp; Cheesy French Fry Lake."

"Aw...Babee, don't talk that way about my hometown, I loved it there. Come gimme a little smooch."

"No way, Jose'--I'd kiss you through the screen door, but it'd strain our love." She answered back sarcastically.

Elaine still sitting on the bed with the sheet pulled up covering her naked body. "Jack, say something. Don't cozy up to her, you said I was beautiful and you were through with Wanda. You even told me that, "Its all over" feeling, (all over again), was what she had done to you. you said you never loved her anyway...Jack...Jack?...SAY SOMETHING...ANYTHING!!"

"Beauty? Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone %26amp; you'd have to multiply that by two million. Get out of my house, COW!!!"

Elaine wrapped the sheet around her body %26amp; stomped pass Wanda.

"You can keep the sheet, I don't want it anymore. And Jack, I don't want you. GET OUT!!!"

"But Wanda, Babeee, I don't got any money. Hell, if the devil danced in empty pockets, he'd have a ball in mine," he pleaded with his wife. " You're my angel darling."

"GET OUT YOU SLIMEY SO %26amp; SO!!!"

Jack grabbed his jeans %26amp; stormed out.

Wanda was furious %26amp; a sneaky, mean idea came into her head. " I'll fix old stupid Elaine---Two can play this game." She began dialing the phone, " Let's see, 729-4583...Hello, Bob? Remember when you %26amp; Elaine came over, last week? and you said you thought how sexy I looked? Were you serious? Really? Well, Hon, this good girl's gonna go bad. did you ever hear the phrase, "Good girls go to heaven %26amp; bad girls go everywhere?" Well I just caught my old man in bed with your old lady, doing the " Wild Monkey Dance." Sure, meet you there in ten minutes...

Why do people ask all the "Am I pretty?" questions on here?

For one it's hella annoying because:

a)The person either knows that they're beautiful and just looking for compliments from complete strangers

b)The person has a low enough self esteem to where they think they're ugly enough and have the need to take a pic. of themselves just to show the whole world how ugly they are NOT

c)Gross disgusting freaking perverts are on here...the list could go on.

Truth be told, beauty is only skin deep. The person who marries you isn't gonna be caring how you look after 20 years, and if they do, then something's wrong. I hate being a teenager.

Why do people ask all the "Am I pretty?" questions on here?
I agree.

Sometimes, it really is the case you presented in "a."

Other times, it's the case you presented in "b," and if they're self-esteem is that low, then strangers on the Internet won't truly make them feel better.
Reply:OMG I completely agree!

It so anoying!
Reply:blame the media

when we only see the most attractive 1% of people

then everybody feels ugly
Reply:being a teenager sucks, yeah...

our generation is being called the "parentless generation" and coming with that is low self-esteem.

we look for it in tons of other people- i actually have another set of parents that do what my "real" parents should've been doing.

i agree that people shouldn't be posting pictures of themselves on here... online people telling you you're pretty aren't gonna fix a self esteem problem.
Reply:Low self esteem, and they just want reassured. It's not a crime.
Reply:I hate it when they ask that question. You're right about option A often times they are bragging. It's just like the ones that ask " I weigh 92 pounds and I wear a size 00 am I fat?"
Reply:i guess i feel a little more sympathetic. kids today have really strange lives and don't do a lot that most people take for granted. kids don't play anymore -- they have computers and lonliness. they have questions about the outside world. instead of distancing yourself from them why don't you try to find a random way to be nice to them. if they are ugly tell them their jeans fit great or something stupid like that. its not that hard to make someones day. i have a really hard time viewing anyone as an annoyance except for suv drivers on their cell phones with a jelly donut in the other hand.
Reply:you just answered your own question
Reply:i am right there with you!!

it is soo annoying

there is like 50 posts of girls with the "am i pretty"..."rate me on a scale of 1 to 10"

the list could go on

Can we name any famous hollywood star that can best be described as ugly?

Ugly means by initial appearance. We all know that looks are only skin deep. I can't think of any that when you first see them your first reaction is almost to be physically sick!

Willem Dafoe is another one, makes a great villain for movies though. And William H. Macy isn't the greatest looking guy, either. Judi Dench hasn't aged well, but god damn, there's a fine example of talent.

Amy Winehouse is not pretty at all. But with a voice like hers, who needs looks?

Does anyone have neurofibromatosis?

I have the lumpy bumps all over my body including back, stomach, torso, face, etc. My legs are not too bad. Most of the time I deal pretty well with it....but sometimes I just hate myself because of it. You know the looks, the stares, the questions, etc. I have spent many a night crying over cruel things people have said to me. Why can't people see beyond skin deep and want to know what is inside the person. After all that is all that is really important.

Does anyone have neurofibromatosis?
Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic neurological disorder that affects cell growth in nerve tissue. NF produces tumors of the skin, internal organs, and nerves that may become cancerous (malignant). It also can affect bones, causing severe pain and debilitation and may result in learning disabilities, behavioral dysfunction, and hearing and vision loss. There is no cure for neurofibromatosis.

Types

Neurofibromatosis can be inherited as an autosomal dominant trait (a parent with the disorder has a 50% chance of passing it to an offspring) or can result from a spontaneous genetic mutation.

Type 1 neurofibromatosis, also called von Recklinghausen NF, is transmitted on chromosome 17 and is caused by mutation (or rarely, deletion) of the NF1 gene. This type causes multiple areas of hyperpigmentation (i.e., birthmarks) that appear shortly after birth. In late childhood, a few to thousands of tumors appear on the skin (called cutaneous lesions) and under the skin (called subcutaneous lesions). These tumors may become cancerous.

Type 2 neurofibromatosis results from mutation (or rarely, deletion) of the NF2 gene and is transmitted on chromosome 22. In this type, tumors form in the nervous system, usually within the skull (intracranial tumors) and spinal canal (intraspinal tumors). Tumors on the eighth cranial nerve (vestibulocochlear nerve), which are sometimes referred to as acoustic neuromas, are most common. This type causes hearing loss and loss of sense of balance (equilibrium), usually during the late teens or early 20s. These tumors may become cancerous.

Schwannomatosis is a rare form of NF in which multiple benign tumors (schwannomas) form in peripheral nerve fiber cells (called Schwann cells). Schwannomatosis does not cause neurological disabilities or malignant tumors. The hallmark of this condition is chronic pain, which can occur in any part of the body, depending on which peripheral nerves are affected.

Incidence and Prevalence

Neurofibromatosis is the most common genetic neurological disorder that is caused by a single gene. It affects more than 100,000 people in the United States. Type 1 NF affects 1 in 4000 people and is usually diagnosed during childhood. Type 2 affects 1 in 50,000 and is usually diagnosed in early adulthood. Schwannomatosis is rare.

NF occurs throughout the world and affects men and women of all races and ethnic groups.

Risk Factors and Causes

Neurofibromatosis is an inherited disease caused by one of two genetic processes. In 50% of cases, a parent passes the defective NF gene (i.e., NF1 or NF2) to an offspring, resulting in autosomal dominant transmission. The NF1 and NF2 genes have tumor suppressor function. Rarely, neurofibromatosis is caused by deletion of the NF1 or NF2 gene.

In the other 50% of cases, a spontaneous genetic mutation occurs with no known cause, no hereditary link, and no family history of the disease.

Other disorders (e.g., epilepsy, scoliosis) have been linked to NF.

Reply:yes i have type one and so does my father and brother. i understand about the looks i took on a name in high school of giraffe. it hurts and as of now im am 5months pg and faceing the fact that my child may have nf i hope in a way he/she doesn't so my child don't have to face what we both face everyday. but if my child does i wont hold them back form school unless they choose to be home school.

Have you ever struck up a friendship with someone on Y!A ...?

and as soon as you saw a picture of them and they weren't what you were expecting did you start to treat them differently?

I know someone that this happened too! Why is it that people have to judge other people by their looks? They say that beauty is only skin deep and yes I know the rest of the saying... ugly is to the bone, but people (men and women both) have no control over how their face is going to look! unless they have plastic surgery and why should it have to come down to plastic surgery to be excepted by others?

Have you ever struck up a friendship with someone on Y!A ...?
I don't understand it either. Most of my friends look like me. I am not what I would call pretty in the face either. Most people name their best physical attributes.I would say my eyes. Most people say that about me. But I am beautiful from the inside out. As far as plastic surgery. I would prefer someone who is natural. Unless is medically or psychologically necessary for that person. If I had money to do that. Would I ? No.

I sent them some photos of me and was lucky enough to have them think i wasn't unattractive.

We are still good friends.
Reply:have tried to start friendship with some in YA but so far have nt succeded.

but yes looks do matter when u want to meet them too after ntro thru YA .
Reply:Because that's the way we are. I personally expect a pic/webcam before I chat with a stranger just because I like to associate an attitude with a face!
Reply:I've not had that problem but I do know that 90 percent of people nowadays are so concerned with looks and how the person they are with makes them look they've forgotten about the most important thing, the love that comes with a person. Girls are so into looks they starve themselves to make sure they look like they should, get surgeries to make their man happy. Well I say if a man doesn't like you for who you are then there is no reason to stay with him.

Here are a few of the of the poems i wrote, i hope u like them but i think they are a little cheesy(im only 14

and when i look into your face,

i see the true meaning of beauty and grace."

i look in your eyes and you hold my gaze

i behold your beauty and i'm truly amazed

i didn't think it was possible but i guess its true

i didn't think anyone could look as good as you do

beauty is only skin deep and your soul is so pure

you have a wonderful personality of that i am sure

you smile and cry and not afraid to show emotion

you have a wonderful laugh heard above any commotion

we're like cookies and milk just us two

Why are so called beautful people persuaded that there outward looks determine the quality of a relationship?

have you ever noticed that people that are stuck on good looks of their partner or how much wealth a potential partner has or is capable of having determines the success of a relationship. Most of these type of people never have a clue of what true love, happiness, or a good sex life is. Because they are hung up on looks rather than the quality of a potential partners ability to love, give emotional support and share quality time. I would rather make love to what some people would consider an ugly woman , than to make love to an outwardly beautiful woman that basis her decision on good looks and money. beauty is only skin deep is not just a cliche, it is a fact. me and my wife has been married for 26 years, happily, imagine that, and we aren't even good looking. Compare that to all the failed beautiful people's relationships and marriages that failed and ask the question, does good looks really matter. It only matters to those vainful people that can't get off being with a real person.

Why are so called beautful people persuaded that there outward looks determine the quality of a relationship?
well if my nonexistant wife was ugly, i wouldnt have to worry about her flirting or getting hit on. just one less problem to deal with... lol
Reply:To the guy who posted above me...they actually have a song about that..lol.

it's old, but funny.

uh, yeah, in the end, personality is a must. but to get to that end, you have to at least try and look your personal best.

that's my take.

creeping

Is intelligence a turn-off in a relationship? Women like a dumb, good-looking bloke....i am average looking..?

I was trying to explain to this girl on a date that looks are skin deep and that i was looking for a person i could live my life with......not a person i use for lust.

Then, unfortunately i mentioned that i hated ignorance and made a fairly bizarre statement, to which she was gobsmacked......I said in reference to ignorance that "Jesus christ was crucified on wood from the tree of knowledge, so that shows how far we've progressed and how the more we know (we think!), the more we recognize that we are ignorant."

She was kinda shell-shocked........

Never rang me again :(

Is intelligence a turn-off in a relationship? Women like a dumb, good-looking bloke....i am average looking..?
When i first met my husband , I asked him a controversial question to which I was really looking for an answer, and was impressed by his clearness in defining a very complex situation.

22 years later, asked at a dinner table what i believe to be my husband's best quality, my answer was, his ablitiy to see new solutions and clarity of mind.

Now, perhaps your date was not shocked by what you said but how you stated it... a bit more humbleness, perhaps, could have helped.

Many intelectual persons feel slightly superior. it is good to remember that Jesus chose ignorant fishermen as Apostles.

To be ignorant is not a choice- it is a lack of options. I am inclined to dislike "those who could and don't" for they are the ones who have conditions and the moral obligation to be pro-active and put in more than their grain of sand.
Reply:Oh yes I just love being on a date with a guy that can't form half a sentence and once he does contribute something to the conversation it's about sports or his car(consisting of more nonverbal communication like showing me how exactly he scored or making the sounds of an engine than actual words). Let's not forget the blank looks I get when I start politics(' so where is this Cambodia again?') or books('Yeah I know that one. The table in my dorm has one leg shorter so I use it so it won't wiggle'). Ah a definite turn on.
Reply:ignorance and stupidity are the turn-offs. i like to have a man that i can hold an intelligent conversation with and also learn new things from him. looks ARE only skin deep. and I take brain over looks.

How long do cuts take to heal?

I accidentaly ran into a door and got a cutish thing on my forehead...how long will it take to heal? it's just skin deep...

How long do cuts take to heal?
Heh... I've done that once. It hurt quite a bit, but it only took a week or so to heal. Just put some antiseptic on it, and don't pick at the scab. If it's a very large cut, then you may want to call your doctor. However, if it's a small cut, then put some antibiotic on it (Neosporin, some doctors may also give you prescription ones if you have skin conditions) and don't cover it with a bandage. I've tried, and unless lint and dust keep sticking to it, then it just makes the healing time longer.
Reply:If you don't pick at the scab it should be all better in under a week.
Reply:yeah, just don't pick at it when it is healing over. Then it would scar and not look good on a forehead. And put some kind of ointment on it....vitamin E works well.
Reply:If you keep it bandaged, 8-10 days. If you don't keep it bandaged it will take a couple days longer.
Reply:This is not the first cut . I guess you need some support. Make it soap clean before vitamine E and bandages. I hope you dont get too wild or stoned. If there is a problem go ahead and email me.
Reply:two weeks.

Reply:No, it does not hurt to think about the points you raise. I personally did not like the ********* exhibited in your intro as it distracts from the strong message you eloquently conveyed. Perhaps, unless you are totally frustrated, disillusioned, impatient, impertinent, or don't give a damn, next time let your words speak for themselves. Those who understand will, those who do not will tell you how wonderful you are anyway. That's part of the "beauty" of America.

Why does everyone emphasize so much on looks?

I see the beauty in everyone and everything. Physical looks are only skin-deep yet people are obsessed over them. People who work out excessively and spend hours to look good. I don't care how i look i just am who i am. i don't need to prove to anyone or care what people think. what are people so addicted to looks?

Why does everyone emphasize so much on looks?
well since the majority of people are, it is apparently human nature. so if you have beef with that, take it up with God.
Reply:people spend so much time on what they look like to be happy about themselves. That's the way some people are
Reply:while girls can appreciate the occasional piece of eye-candy, it's biologically proven that men are visual creatures- and that many ppl of both genders enjoy sex. put women in skimpy clothing or w/ a pretty face and it sells. so in turn-the images and put out there and gooo-ed and gawww-ed over. sickening, i know. looking at something's easy-discovering things and thinking requires more effort that ppl won't as readily expend.
Reply:Because people want to impress other people. If everyone was like you, the world would be a lot calmer and nicer. People would be way happier and have better jobs. I really like your attitude about it. But I hope you aren't NOT working out, people need exercise for their health. NOT always for their looks. I am just pointing that out, I don't really know if you don't work out or if you do work out you just mentioned it.
Reply:It's because of the media and magizines. Plus the fashion industry is a multi million dollar industry and somehow makes its way into every corner of everything. People are easily brain washed so when they see a million ads and commercials for these sorts of things it sticks. Plus celebrities have started anorexia trends which is making being super skinny a new trend.
Reply:like it or not, first impressions do matter. i hate to say it but a lot of people judge
Reply:Wow, that's a loaded question. It's been beaten into our brains. It's human nature. Our looks are what attracts us to someone. Personally, if I think I look good, I don't care what anyone else thinks.
Reply:because when you open up a magazine or watch tv all you see are these size 2 models and you begin to think thats what your suppose to look like but what people dont understand is that everybodys bodies arent made to look like that. Also because of the peps we like to call the mean girls or plastics every one once to be them because there so popular and pretty and they frown upon the people that are not as skinny or as pretty as them. Thats society now.
Reply:definitely has to do with the media. There is an image set subconsciously in everyones mind on what is perceived as looking good or hot or whatever, so people strive for that. The media is messing up peoples heads...especially younger generation following the media right now, into the music and the fashion, little girls are wearing skirts and tights before I even knew what those were....make up too. People are obsessed with attracting others because of what they will see on the outside....personally though, I don't care how hot you are, if you can't have a normal conversation with someone it doesn't really matter what you look like. But anyways, I would definitely say people are so addicted with their looks because of the media.
Reply:First impressions depends on looks.
Reply:I agree. I just don't like how people are treated differently just because they either look ugly or hot. But, sadly that's how people kind of do a quick judgment of you to figure out what kind of person you are.
Reply:i agree with you to a certain degree. However looks is the first thing you see when approaching a person. its not there personality or there insides . that comes with time of getting to know someone.

So looks is always the first thing you see.

Please help me.?

ok im not really pretty, cute,or anything like that. but i REALLY want 2 be. i have heard people saying beauty is only skin deep and stuff and ive tried 2 go by that. but its gotten hard. i want to be pretty really badly but i dont know how. i was told that there are very few ugly people in the world just those that dontknow how to be pretty or something like that.i want to knwo how. kinda like that thing on princess diaries where she was unnatractive at first but then found a way to be pretty. anyways i need help with this so please do help. also just to let u know ive seen these other things and they have stuff to do with abercrombie and stuuf so i wanted to let u know i am more emo or gothic and i want to keep it that way. so can u try not to suggest things like abercrombie or anything. please and thank you

Please help me.?
maybe if your close to your mum or friends you could both

get a manicure, haircut, massage- anything

that will boost your confidence and make you feel good!

looking in the mirror and saying stuff like i am beautiful

will help- sounds stupid i know lol.

you just need to be friendly and confident that's all there

is to it. maybe make up to enhance your natural beauty

cause I'm sure you have it! :D

good luck x
Reply:if your brows don't please you you can trim them in a fine toothed comb and small scissors starting at the outer edge
Reply:it is definitely skin deep. boosting your confidence will make a huge difference. so first, i would recommend talking to a stylist about hair and make up. they can tell you what kind of hair style would not only look great on you but also satisfy your emo/punk vibe. she can also make small adjustments (for example, if you have think eyebrows like i do, she can shape them a bit! with beauty, sometimes the smallest things make a BIG difference!). and finally, she could tell you what color and shade of makeup would look great on you. with a bit of creativity and trial-and-error, you could find an awesome emo look. i recommend staying away from VERY dark colors with the make up. usually it will wash out the rest of the color in your face! try a smokey eyed look that has enough darkness to draw the eyes up to yours but has color so it brings out your eyes.

but MOST importantly, BE YOURSELF. find a way to be confident in yourself, something that makes you feel good. because kindness, even physically (which a lot of people don't know!), shows up in your beauty.

good luck!

Poem, let me know your thoughts, thanks.?

Rays of light shine of a summer's morning rise.

Through my bedroom window you sneak in

and wake me with the a.m’s glow.

As a thief you steal me from deep sleep,

caressing warmth skin deep.

Embracing fine white fibers upon this bed

and on my head, a kiss you lay.

Igniting the day, warming my soul

I welcome your warmness.

Will pardon you of a dream you stole.

As you will forgive the creeping night

taking your light.

Rays of light shine of a night's starlight.

Reply:DEEP POEM. VERY DEEP ; i like it though -- it makes you think
Reply:I don`t like that you try to mix hamlet`ish poetry with nowadays...
Reply:Needs a little work. a.m.'s glow.
Reply:I like the first two lines, but the use of a.m. kind of gives it an immature air. I just think that you could use a better word than that. I'm not really sure what the fine white fibers are, but I wouldn't use that, be more specific on what you're talking about there. I don't like that you used things relating to the word warm so close together in the second stanza, consider replacing one of those words. I think you should do something more with the last line, as it IS the close of your poem, and I still don't like the fact that you use light and then starlight so close together. This poem has very good potential though, so when/if you work on it, please email me the finished product.

Illegal Immigration: an issue of race?

okay, so most of you people say that you hate the illegal immigrants for the fact that they broke the laws.. which, even I, think is an understandable argument..

but I believe that most americans only look skin deep when it comes to this issue..

if it was a problem with canada: twenty-million english speaking white people conveniently moving themselves and their families into our country, would you care? or would you even notice?

I think that a lot of you people really need to look past the language barrier and the color of skin and you will see that the latino immigrants are just looking for a better life.. one that they can't afford to get legally because of the horrible wages of their home countries...

I'm all for the amnesty movement.. they want what everyone else wants... a better life...

Illegal Immigration: an issue of race?
Very Good Question !!!

This is in fact true. There are many people from Poland who are illegally in this country and nobody cares as long as they have blue eyes and blond hair.

Don't get me wrong . This people are hard workers and my respect to them. There is "Other" people who make the differences.
Reply:Jews?
Reply:Stupid.....I am a minority myself and I have been called N***** by Mexicans.... they have said "im not going to serve that ( n word) is that OK with you? if anything theyre racists to me
Reply:I don't care what color they are.

I do care that they are stealing people's jobs here rather then fix the problems in their own country. You ever hear of the term "scab worker" that is what the illegals are.

In our country we formed union's to combat the abuses to our working class. We demanded job safety and wages that could support a family. Scab workers came in and threatened that. The scabs often came from the same racial groups as the union workers. People killed each other over this issue.

Now Mexicans (and other groups) are just stepping in to benefit from everything our people did. And we aren't supposed to be angry?

RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, WE WANT WHAT IS OURS BY RIGHT.

Instead of all this protesting and boycotting here, stock up on supplies to take home and MAKE MEXICO TAKE CARE OF ITS WORKERS.
Reply:It is NOT a race or nationality issue - it is a LEGAL issue.

Yes - everyone tends to think of illegal immigrants being hispanic. But when over 90% are, it tends to put a face - or "race" - onto the issue.

It is the same thing that in movies every single serial killer is a creepy looking white guy. Most serial killers are creepy looking white guys, so that is how they are "pictured".

Again, it is nothing more than a legal issue. I am sure there are those that see the issue as a way to express their bigotry, but I think that percentage is rather small. Like the illegal immigrants from other nations of the world.
Reply:If they're looking for a better life that's fine with me but come legally. Mexico brutalizes people at their border allowing no one to pass through. Also Mexico would never allow illegals to protest in their country. Heck, no country in the world would allow those things to happen and neither should we. There is a reason we want legal immigration and that's so we know who is coming here and for what reason which I believe is very reasonable in todays climate....
Reply:Ask an Englishman. They have been coming to this site complaining about the Polish flood ing their country. There are a few who does attack illegal immigration due to skin color, but most do not.
Reply:I know it's hard to except but the amnesty bill was defeated By the will of the USA citizens that's what we wanted an got. It's gone, no more,a none issue. Why keep talking about it like it's something that's going to appear again. Race or color we do not hate anyone,we love all, that's why so many are welcome to be here legally. It's illegally that we have issues with.
Reply:Please stop using that lame argument "If it was a problem with Canada" crap!!! Why don't you use the same argument %26amp; say that if 20 million Africans tried to "invade" the United States, every single boat would be stopped in it's tracks. Mexican's are considered White. Americans are not racist towards Hispanics, but you can't say the say thing when it comes to the Black race. We still feel it to this day. It really makes me sick to think that you try to play the race card when you really haven't experienced racism at all. This isn't an issue of race!!! It is an economic issue. Let's see 20 million Africans illegally get by... That is when you will see an issue of race. What I am trying to say is... America does have it's issues when it comes to racism; but... the illegal immigration issue is not one of them!!! Stop playing the race card!!!
Reply:Sorry, but you are wrong. Of course there are a few who think that way.

Myself, I just know that they are damaging our economy, and they are keeping wages low, and they are breaking our laws. You want to tell my Mexican wife whose parents immigrated here legally 5 years before she was born, so she is a citizen, that I am racist against Mexicans? How about telling her parents who I love dearly as they are the best inlaws anyone could ever ask for?

It is not a race issue. If the Canadians come across and cause the economic distress that the Mexican illegals cause...YOU BET I WOULD WANT THE DEPORTED!
Reply:In other words, you accept it is about criminals....but continue to claim racism anyway with absolutely no proof?

Exactly who is the racist again?

The better life argument is very sweet. But either come here legally--or make a better life where you are. If you are willing to risk death crossing a river or desert or riding a dangerous train to get here..why aren't you willing to do what it takes to risk changing a bad environemnt in your nation of origin?

Because there you don't have tax paying americans subsidizing your sorry, leach off the American tax supported infrastructure to the tune of $40billion a year. Because your country of origin doesn't provide those types of benefits to anyone.

You are here to steal our lifestyle from us. When you are done, you will turn america into the 3rd world country you left. You are bankrupting us and destroying us. Just like happens at the place you left. You won't be satisfied until the whole world is brought down to your level.

I resent your lame attempt to make it a race issue with no proof whatsoever. It is oh-so-easy (and intellectually lazy) to pull the race card it--you can't prove it, we can't disprove it, and so we will as a result piss all over each other in the process.

Not so very helpful......much like your question.
Reply:it aint just the language and skin color....it's that they all have 20 kids!
Reply:Consider this:

Liberty over Independence, in the minds of the American people and their leaders prior to 1776 was expressed in the closing words of an Address (to the American people) submitted to the Continental Congress on February 13, 1776 by James Wilson as follows: "That the Colonies may continue connected, as they have been, with Britain, is our second Wish: Our first is--THAT AMERICA MAY BE FREE." (Emphasis Wilson's.)

According to the 1776 immigrants to the America's - no nation had the right to keep a free man from his God given right to make a better life anywhere on earth - so what the fux up with the bitchin?
Reply:I'm just about sick of this... "oh what if Illegals were white, then you wouldn't have a problem" -it's not about race, language, religion, disability, or anything else you can try and come up with.. it's about making sure my Government is securing our borders and making sure that me, my family, my friends, my fellow citizens, and legal immigrants are safe.. it's about making sure that everyone has an opportunity to come into this country that want a better life.. but you have to stand in line and wait your turn... no butting in line.. please listen to me IT IS NOT A RACE ISSUE! it's about legal and illegal and coming into this country without stopping to check in is ILLEGAL
Reply:What race are we talking about? Hispanics? That is not a race, it is a culture and it just so happens 80% of the illegals are Hispanic. I don't want illegals here from anywhere. I am not for amnesty. Not now , not ever.
Reply:what part of illegal don't you understand?.
Reply:You are spot on..... When these people say immigrant, they mean "Mexican"...why? Because of skin color.

You can't spot an illegal Canadian or Russian or Czech.....their skin is white and everyone assumes you are "one of us".

But Mexicans - and Asians are readily identifiable.......

Racism at it's purest. Judging someone by the color of their skin......that is the definition.
Reply:You are right that we are against all illegals. What you forgot to mention is the overwhelming number (in the millions) that are entering from Mexico.

We don't have millions of Canadians sneaking in. If we did and they were causing the same issues that the Mexicans are, then we would be out to shut down the northern border.
Reply:i believe there is a small group of racist anti-illegals out there, but i believe the majority arent racist at all. Im anti amnesty, and it doesnt matter what race or language you speak, you broke the law.

If you support a better life for people, how on earth can you support amnesty?

what happens when you have a huge increase of low skilled, uneducated labor?

If all of the sudden you have 20 million (or so) people looking for jobs, do you honestly think employers are going to offer incentives to retain workers?

your high paying construction job, will no longer have to give you health care, dental, vision, or even a decent pay. They can afford to get rid of you because there are 12 more people directly behind you wanting that job.

This would cause a crisis across the united states. if you want to protect wages: "can't afford to get legally because of the horrible wages of their home countries" how can you support amnesty? the wages in this country would drop faster then you can imagine. we would end up like their home countries simply because a few people 'wanted to help' without looking at the dangers.

i just dont understand why the pro amnesty people think amnesty is going to help these people.
Reply:Oh sweetie I think you need to open you eyes to see what is really going on.. The illegals come to the United States and trash our land, won't speak our language and expect to get everything for free. They go into the department stores and trash everything. They get "knocked up" knowing that they come come to the United States and give birth to illegal immigrant that they can't even afford and then the hard working UNITED STATES citizens have foot the bill. ONE MORE THING.... If you are not an U.S. Citizen, then you don't have ANY right in the UNITED STATES.... Go back to Mexico!
Reply:I think you need to buy a clue!
Reply:I asked a question of what to do with the non-Hispanic illegal immigrants and the answer was resoundingly to deport them. There were a few who were against Mexicans only but they were by far the minority.

Racial bias does not hold up.

Any one heard this song cute and furry? Its an Eq2 song?

They all laugh at me because I'm cute and Furry

Thinkin I'm so cute and Furry

Wanna be so Cute Furry

Thinking I'm so cute and Furry

Big Pains being cute and furry!

Worked real hard to be seventy

Not too easy for a cat like me

Kerran kitty standing up six feet

purrin n lickin all the chicks I see

As a kit I picked up a rusty sword

Practicing on squeaky toys and boars

Momma told me to fight with words

Daddy said that was quite absurd

(Ratonga)

Worked real hard so I could be

Looked apon so fear-ful-ly

Ratonga step off from the streets

When I put my plates on and go to play

I hear snickers out there everyday

They look down at me, even gnomes

Say I'm too cute, shoulda stayed at home

(K) I got claws and I can bite ya

(R) I got spirit and Heart with Might, ya

(K) might wanna watch out where you step

(R) notch in my sheath, records I have kept

(K) of the Dragons that I have slain

(R) while you laughted and caused such pain

(K) But by tonight you'll know our name

They laugh at my efforts, I'm so cute and Furry

Thinking I'm so cute and Furry

Big Pains being cute and furry!

(Kerran)

I heard Cute is just skin deep

But the furr adds another steep

ob-sti-cle from head to feet

Punch you in da head if I hear one more peep

Bout the nice tail on my behind

Hey kids if you dont mind,

stop with the cans tied to my appendage

I'm busted up and payin for mend-age

(Ratonga)

Cause I spent my night in a deep dark cave

lookin for the Rep I crave

Wouldda been lost if not for my power

kept us fighting hour after hour

So stop with the snickers and scoff

ev'ry night i'give what I got

Pool of Blood stream down my trail

all ya do is pull my tail

(K) Will ya stop with the Catnip spikes

(R) Cheese and Cookies, got more I likes

The Truth behind beauty?

Many people say that beauty is only skin deep. Some say that it's the skin that makes beautiful. There are all sorts of philosophies on what makes a person attractive. What I'm not looking for is a comparison of what people think is "sexy", but more of a from your life experiences, what conclusion have you come to on beauty.

Here's the question I would have you answer:

If given the choice of two people whose outer beauty doesn't match their inner beauty, would you choose the physically attractive, but relationally dull ... ... or... ... the person short in physical beauty but endowed with inner beauty?

When answering, I ask that you also state your gender and age range:

%26lt;20

20-30

30-40

40-50

50+

Thanks in advance to all who offer well considered responses.

The Truth behind beauty?
The truth behind beauty? ... It truly is in the "eye of the beholder".
Reply:Beauty is relative from person to person

inner beauty, to me, is more important in the long run
Reply:This made me think of that saying: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"...

I would think that although the person may be beautiful even gorgeous on the outside, nine time out of ten that usually fades with age. It would probably be better to be with someone who you are happy with and that their inner beauty not only is amazing but makes you happy.
Reply:I would say inner beauty, but because of the way society is, I think a lot of people would still choose the outer beauty. But once again,I should only be speaking for myself.

Reply:i would definitely choose the person short in physical beauty but endowed with inner beauty. you can only hold on to your physical beauty for 40 years or so from birth, whist inner beauty does not fade through time, in fact the more it's used and honed the more it is refined. there's no way im spendin my life with a woman whose relationally dull.

im a dude 20-30 yo.

ps. this question sounded like a survey for some research paper. lols, if i am mistaken forget i mentioned. if it is lols! ^_^
Reply:more detail

is this on a desert isle? Just for marriage? there are many aspects unexplained.
Reply:I would chose someone who had inner beauty. Over time, I would begin to find their outer beauty. On the other hand someone who has outer beauty and nothing to offer personality wise begins to become physically repulsive.

Are Ugly People the Only Ones that say...?

Beauty is only skin deep. I mean, that's deep enough! Does anyone really care if your left kidney is beautiful?

Are Ugly People the Only Ones that say...?
They only care if you are an organ donor.
Reply:yes they are.
Reply:ewwww!!!! your rude
Reply:no, people just like you say it too.
Reply:UGLY is a personality trait and a character trait. It has nothing to do with the arrangement of your face (or your kidneys).
Reply:you will be ugly and old one day
Reply:No. Beautiful people say that too. Vain people probably don't.
Reply:Ugly or old, hon. That's it. If you're good to look at, no one cares if it's only skin deep - unless they have to live with you. Then some nice would be handy, too.
Reply:ugly to me is having a bad attitude!
Reply:most people don't look good when they get old.
Reply:I have a torn Kidney, but i think its kinda cute...
Reply:yes..
Reply:yes they are.
Reply:whats the definition of ugly?.... it lies in the mind of the beholder!... it is what you see feel and percieve. whats ugly for one is beautiful for others and vice versa. i hope you got an answer to your question
Reply:Thats mean....I dont think anyone is ugly..we all are people, so why judge by looks?
Reply:No I think nearly everyone says that.
Reply:LOL...pretty much sums it up
Reply:Hey, I do not care what a person looks like. What a stupid question.
Reply:I don't agree with that. I know many beautiful people inside and out. One in particular gave me very good advice when I was young.

"Looks are temporary, you could be in an accident or fire tomorrow and be scarred for life. You have to be made up of a LOT more than your outer appearance. Will the people who love you now still love you if your looks are gone?"

This was a very beautiful lady that was full of class; and everybody loved her inside and out.
Reply:Yea, I don't think they're talking about the beauty of someone's kidney.

Your skin will decay someday. It'll get wrinkled, and you'll be less "beautiful" then than I'm sure you believe yourself to be now. So, maybe there are other, more important concerns than the surface. It doesn't last, so why put too much stock in it? There are more important things to like about ourselves than our looks.

So, no, "ugly people" aren't the only ones who say that. And if I'm ever so lucky as to be around beautiful people, I'll be sure to get one of them to back me up.
Reply:No, everyone says that about a good looking person that is an ********
Reply:Burn!!!! Take that, Janet Reno!
Reply:Beauty is only skin deep...

But ugly goes all the way to the bone.
Reply:Yes.
Reply:There are many"beautiful' people who say exactly that.Haven't you ever met someone who was "beautiful" and then you got to know them and discovered that they were shallow or self-centered.Your perception of them changes.Look deeper.
Reply:Hell no. Real people are the ones that say that. You could be the best looking person in the world, but if you have a bad attitude, that makes you ugly. Also, if you're not the most attractive, if you have a heart of gold, then you're beautiful. It's all heart and soul and that's not said by an ugly person.

Would/could u love some1 who has a disfigurement?

If so what are you limits, I’m curious for the opinions people who consider them selves to be beautiful in the supermodel sense (and yes I know every one is beautiful and its all skin deep and all that stuff so don’t start ranting at me).

I want to know could you in you heart of hearts say you would?

What if they had skin with some sort of disease (not contagious) would you date them or if were severely disfigured. I want honest answers.I believe I could but I guess you cant know for sure until your in that situation.

Would/could u love some1 who has a disfigurement?
I am glad you asked such a good question.I have suffered with the skin condition psoriasis for over 30 yrs now,all over my body, and i hav'nt had a relationship in the past 16 yrs when it started to get worse. It's because i would not expect any woman to go to bed with me in this condition-it just would'nt be fair so therefor no relationship,as easy as that. Its not easy-but its something i have learned to live with,on the other hand if it was the other way around it would'nt bother me,as i think its the person that love is based on.i dont know, but i do know i could have done without this annoying damn condition-as any sufferer will tell you!Good Q.and good answers.thank you.
Reply:honestly i would need to be in the situation which i am not. i would tend to say no but then again you cant help fallen and loving someone can you, no matter what they look like so i dont know.....if i loved them and their personality thats all that counts to me not what they look like.
Reply:To be completely honest, I don't think I could date someone who had a serious disfigurement. This doesn't mean I couldn't love someone like that though. It's not as though I'm totally conceited, but I think I would always feel as though I'm better than them in a purely skin deep level.
Reply:I don't consider myself supermodel beautiful so I may have to recuse myself... but here goes.

I fell in love a long time ago with a severely disfigured man,

He was a quadriplegic, had been in a terrible accident, which left him burn scarred over 60% of his body. He had lost an eye, and one of his hands.

And even though our romance didn't last I would say it was one of my more significant loves.

So I'd say, disfigurement or disability would not be a hindrance for me.
Reply:you said it yourself: you cant really know until you're in that situation. i say that love comes in many forms and unconditional love is... well... unconditional.

one inspiring story:

my new neighbors have 2 young boys together. the father recently contracted Lyme's disease... he can barely walk and his nervous system is messed up so his speech is slowed and hard to understand. the wife has stood by him through thick and thin.
Reply:if i got to know the person instead of focusing on their disfigurement then yes.

if i was strong enough to deal with other peoples reactions and comments then yes

if i was able let the other person know that i was with them out of love and not pity or guilt then yes

I'm not sure if i could actually do these things as i am not in the position but hopefully i am not the kind of person who judges a person on what they look like, but on the content of their character
Reply:It would probably be hard for me to begin a relationship with some one who was disfigured but I wouldnt say impossible since it has never been something that I have had to face. But if something happened to someone that I already loved it might bring a little bit of a problem but if I really love the person then my love for that person shouldnt change since I should be in love with the person and not the shell that they are in.

We look to much at the outside and not the inside and it really is pretty stupid. Its like buying a house that looks beautiful and not checking if it is full of termites when you could of bought a house that doesnt look all that hot but will last forever. Its hard tho to do. another thing that might stop me is the fact that if I were to fall in love with someone who had been born with thier problem and the time came we were to want to have children this problem could pass on to the children and that is not fair for the child. It is sad though because everyone should be able to have the experience of being loved and wanted and so many go through life never knowing what that is. Its a hard call to make. I can only say that I hope my love for the one that I am with is strong enough to not change if something were to happen.
Reply:my boyfriends cousin has!
Reply:Thats quite a hard question, whatever they look like you have to be attracted to them in some way. I may not be attracted to a person with a serious disfigurement straight away, but after getting to know them, i might be, it would depend on the person
Reply:Good question. I saw a guy in the Sunday Times magazine returned from Iraq to America, his face was melted off by IEDs and he was having a wedding with his childhood girlfriend, who in white looked very fresh.

Now this guy had no ears or lips and his face was flat and burnt off. I was thinking as I read it if he should have allowed her to "opt out", as it were. I would certainly have offered her an opt out. It was a sad read.
Reply:I love you, don't I?....Big nose.
Reply:well i love my husband an awful lot, i really hope i could love him with a disese or if he is disfured i cant really say but i do know god loves you no matter what you look like no matter where youve been or what youve done because he loves you unconditionally
Reply:This is a great question. I don't particularly call myself "handsome" (definitely not beautiful; I'm a man), and I am very divided when I think of an answer for this.

I think that it would depend on the disfigurement, but today's society is extremely dependant on attractiveness, so much so that Brittany Spears has shaved her head for (what most think is) beauty and attractiveness in today's society. (I personally don't think so, but, each to his own.)

I think that if one truly loves another, then the features of that person would undergo crystallisation (see below), and if I could see the beauty in the person (both physically and "on the inside"), then the disfigurement would undergo (I hope I'm using this phrase correctly) crystallisation. But, as you say, it's hard to imagine and it would depend on the degree of disfigurement.

Also, a girl whom I really like, to others, has a rather bad acne problem. I, however, have seen past that due to, yes, it's crystallisation again! To be completely honest with you, I think that my attraction to this girl is due to looking past the "problem", which I now find rather attractive, strangely enough, and seeing the actual beauty of the person without the disfigurement.
Reply:My boyfriend has big ears, he's bald, has about five poc marks on his face, has a lazy eye and quite crooked teeth!! He walks funny too.I consider him to be a 2/10 on the handsomeness scale if there is one! I myself am about an 8 and I met him online and fell for hisWONDERFUL personality. After getting over the original embarrassment of his looks, I was finally able to walk down the street with him, instead of hiding him from all my friends! I met him on line, playing a game ,so was drawn to his personality ,not his looks! Never thouht it was possible, but yes, BEAUTY HAS FALLEN FOR THE BEAST, and now he seems like the handsomest man in the world , cos I am in love!!!!!!!ps we live together now and everything ! Just to further explain, my boyfriend looks like the type of guy who if he came up to me at bar and offered me a drink I would tell him to FFFF OFFF!!!!!!
Reply:i have been with my woman for five years...

to be honest if she went out one day...lost her arms, legs hell everything and was left with only her torso i would still love protect and defend her...

i would never give up on anyone i loved though i would not want them to be burdened with me..i personally would rather die...

i am a giver not a taker....

i don't think i have a limit to be honest...i would adapt and move on and keep fighting....
Reply:Thats a question for sure, I think the circumstances would need to be there first. If you fancy someone physically, you ask them out and go from there, now in order to fall for someone with some kind of disfigurement, i think you would need to know, or get to know that person, then, when you had built a respect for what that person stands for and decide they have a respect for you, then you could become closer. I think it would always take a long time to connect, rather than the eyes meeting across a crowded room syndrome.
Reply:YES I WOULD,ITS THE PERSON THAT COUNTS.
Reply:it's a question we should ask our self's Before you commit your self to that person my partner has thyroid were the body makes water and it's sad because there;s a passionate loving woman who when smiling it has the affect of the sun warm and caring i care for her and she is like no other woman iv ever known but i cant get my head round it she never chose, and it's put a full stop in the bedroom I'm moving out but she's the best friend i could ever ask for,
Reply:It depends on how bad it was and if it was their face.

If someone was a midget, a giant, had a missing limb(s), or some other basic thing like that of course it would not matter. If they looked like Joseph Merrick or Grace McDaniels then it would be an issue at first, I could learn to love them as a person and eventually fall in love with their personalty but I could not instantly be seduced by someone who was had gross facial disfigurement.

I have though about this sort of thing a lot over the years, I am fascinated by deformity and disfigurement.

I would recommend the film "Freaks" by Todd Browning - it is about a beautiful woman who marries a freak show midget and tries to poison him to get his fortune. It is a brilliant film and features real deformed people as actors so is very honest about how deformity works.
Reply:Obviously I couldn't say 100% as I would have to experience the situation but my stance on people has always been and always will be personality first and foremost so there is at least a 50% chance I would in all honesty.

Hope this helps :)
Reply:some people might not even notice the disfigurement, the person might have a nice personality caring nature that shines through glad to say no everyone goes for looks
Reply:i always say its the personality that counts most ,not the looks ,and the right chemistry between people to have a loving relationship together, my partner is no oil painting but is kind ,loving ,funny , loyal and yes you can have a real good row with him when you fancy !!!
Reply:if it were a scar on the face or something small, i could but someone with a serious disfigurement would be hard for me to say yes to
Reply:Yes and No to this one. I think I could love a woman who was disfigured for what she was, not what she looked like. But these days it's all on looks...
Reply:In all honesty i cannot say how i'd be as it hasnt happened that i've met and fallen in love with a severly disfigured person. But if i was already with someone i loved, and if something happened that left them disfigured then yes i would still love them and stay.
Reply:As has been said... I would need to be in the situation... which I'm not, but I see no reason to think that I wouldn't be abl;e to... I do have friends who have disfigurements and other problems and i love them as friends and it makes no difference to our friendship that they have them...
Reply:it is one of the hardest questions no doubt.personally i think if you knew the person b4 hand this wouldn't be such a hard answer .
Reply:Believe me there are worse things than disfigurements.

I have been attracted a couple of time to men with disabilities; since I'm married already it was obviously a non-starter but if I'd been single then who knows. When I was younger date people who have mental health problems a couple of times; if you like someone then what does their appearance matter?
Reply:well i will really be very honest and strait no diplomatic answers or tell stories etc.

i know what is in yr mind..

if his disfigurement could be treated and recover to be a normal person and not to be contagious so i can tell yes yes be with him coz i feel that to LOVE him.. but if u felt that your are feeling sorry for him and want to make him in a better feeling about him self so you are driven..yes always think with your mind not your Harte and feelings. coz hart and feeling comes next!!!
Reply:yes i think beauty is often in the eye of the beholder.

i think many people can and do love someone with a disfigurement.
Reply:Everyone will react differently given different circumstances. I believe that if someone I loved (wife or family) had some form of disfigurement.

it would make my love even stronger. I could never see them hurt especially by me.

Cornish hen question?

What I usually do is mix some butter with rosemary and a little bit of garlic. Then, I put this under the skin and rub some all over the outside. I then take a quarter of a lemon and quarter of a lime and put them into the cavity with some rosemary. This usually makes an okay hen but it does come out a little bland and the flavor that is there only goes skin deep. What spices should I add or what could I do give it flavor all the way through?

Cornish hen question?
I know this problem, and solved it by brining the birds for 2-4 hours before roasting them. Use a simple brine recipe (e.g., 1 oz sugar, 2 oz salt in 1 qt water) to which you add some herbs and spices that you like. Some good ones to use are thyme, leek, crushed peppercorn, allspice and/or juniper berries, smashed garlic, star anise, and so forth. Experiment to find combinations that you like. You can easily brine a bird in a plastic bag -- just use a larger one for more birds. Be sure it's fully submerged.

Once I started brining my birds before roasting them they came out not only interestingly flavored, but very moist and succulent as well. I've never looked back.

By the way, this is also a wonderful treatment to give other poultry -- chicken and turkey -- and pork chops.

Buon appetito!
Reply:Rosemary salt and pepper garlic: i would try to use a little more and/or put it on the skin not under squeeze one slice of lemon no lime
Reply:you would need to do more of a marinade style, cut the hens in half and marinate overnight......

all your ingredients without the butter and add olive oil, red wine vinegar

Cornish hens

Here are some ways to quickly enchance Cornish game hens (or roast chicken). Start with four hens weighing 1 to 1-1/4 pounds each and a quick fix of your choice below. Roast the hens at 375 degrees F. for about 1 hour, or until the juices run clear when a thigh is pierced with a knife and a meat thermometer registers 170 degrees F.

Citrus Glaze

Mix 1/4 cup thawed, frozen orange juice concentrate, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, and 2 tablespoons honey until well blended. Brush the glaze over the hens during the last 15 to 20 minutes of roasting.

Asian Accent

Mix 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons chicken broth, and 1 teaspoon sesame oil. Brush the mixture over the hens and pour a little into the cavities before roasting as directed above.

Apricot Glaze

In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup apricot jam, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard, and 2 tablespoons honey. Roast hens as directed. Brush the apricot glaze over the hens during the last 15 to 20 minutes of roasting.

Mexican Spiced

Rub the outside of the hens with packaged taco seasoning and lightly spray with non-stick vegetable oil cooking spray. Roast as directed.

Lemon-Basil

Rub the outside of the hens with a cut lemon and brush with melted butter. Place one lemon half and sprig of fresh basil into each cavity. Roast as directed.

Mustard-Herb

Coat the outside of each hen with about 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Sprinkle with a mixture of dried tarragon, basil and thyme. Roast as directed. Deglaze the pan with 3/4 cup white wine and serve with the pan juices.

Garlic-Herb

Mix 2 tablespoons minced fresh garlic, 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh thyme, 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary, and 2 teaspoons finely chopped sage. Loosen the breast skin of each hen and rub one quarter of the mixture under the skin of each bird. Roast as directed.
