I just want clear skin.?

I am a teenager and battling the same insecurity most other human beings my age are:acne.

But, I take great care of my skin. I wash it every night before I go to bed with Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub and every morning with Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser. After I wash it, I use Olay Sensitive Moisture Therapy Cream with aloe. I am one of the most healthy teenagers you would ever meet, drinking only water and eating a good, healthy, balanced diet and I get my daily exorcise.

My acne isn't horrible, but it's enough to make me insecure. I don't have a face full of it but the acne I do have are, well, noticable. I also have blackheads.

I have heard all the success stories of ProActive, and I have also heard the horror stories about it. I don't want to hear any more of those stories. I want to know if there is anything out there for this healthy girl. I need something that works. Something that will keep me looking and feeling clean.

I just want clear skin

I just want clear skin.?
Since you're a health-concious girl who wants solutions and not more products that don't work and make things worse, click my image, click the link under my image for free acne routine and read the page. It's not products, it's a routine that will restore balance to your skin and get rid of the freakin' acne.

While you're in my profile, copy and past the natural mask recipe for a nice moisturizing and healing treatment for your skin...
Reply:ok
Reply:i think your doin all you can. besides going to a dermatologists and asking for a medication. its just a stage. people are worst than that dont sweat it. your doing fine. oil free foundation will cover it up and it is still ok for you to wear
Reply:I feel your pain.

You may want to see a dermatologist (skin doctor) and see what they would recommend.

I want clear skin too...
Reply:you can do laser surgery, if your parents are willing enough to pay. its an acne treatment. and you can go to a skin doctor. they could prescribe you something for your blackheads. using a lot of medication is not exactly "healthy" but i know that a lot of people would do anything to get rid of acne. but even if you get medicine, b/c ur still a teen ur hormones would still have you produce acne. eat lots of fruit, its extremely good for the skin. my teacher told me about how she makes a drink by mixing the right fruits together. watermelon, banana, apples, oranges, strawberries and mixes it all together. i think she adds some other kinds of fruit in it as well. she eats it everyday and her skin is absolutely flawless. she somehow made the right combination so it tastes amazing too.
Reply:I've had clear skin all my life and the only thing I have ever used on my face is water and dial soap, the yellow dial bar.
Reply:Same here. I got enough blackheads on my nose and pimple everywhere in my face to make me feel insecure about myself.

Acne is a broad term covering blemishes, blackheads, and whiteheads. This condition can strike at any age. While there are many preventative measures you can take to avoid acne with good results, here's how to treat existing acne so that it disappears.

1.Stop popping the pimples and zits. This will only risk encouraging your acne to stay due to inflammation, irritation, and possibly infection. Popping pimples or zits could also leave aresort. If a pimple comes up in a particularly bothersome place, learn how to target a single pimple. And if you're determined to pop, learn how to pop a pimple safely and properly.

2.Use a mild soap for sensitive skin. It can be designed for acne-prone skin or not, but you will want to treat your skin gently. You do not need harsh antibacterial soap, which can actually make your acne worse.

3.Remove dead skin cells regularly by ex foliating. Use a gentle scrub with natural defoliants like ground walnut shells, or use an over-the-counter chemical defoliants like salicylic acid and glycolic acid. Cocoa butter with ground walnut shell works well, too(It is a face wash.). Remember that over-ex foliating can actually increase the likelihood of acne by irritating the skin. Pat dry, rather than rubbing, since rubbing can cause irritation to the fresh skin you've just revealed.

4.Use a good toner. Spray onto face or wipe on with a cotton ball and wipe off with a clean, dry cotton ball. This gets rid of excess cleanser and tightens pores. Good, inexpensive choices include plain witch hazel for normal to dry skin, or 3% hydrogen peroxide for oily skin. 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol can also be used for severe oiliness, but it can really dry out your skin and irritate it more. Some toners are medicated, too, and this stage is the best for using a medicated product if you're only going to use one medication. Lemon juice is a good option, too.

5.Bacteria in pores is one cause of pimples. Reduce the amount of bacteria by using toners containing anti-bacterial agents like alcohol, peroxide and benzalkonium chloride, and by using creams that contain benzoyl peroxide, which kill bacteria as well as cause the skin to regenerate faster.

6.Maintain a routine. Most acne treatments take time to work. It usually takes between two and eight weeks before you see any significant improvement, so you are going to have to be patient. Once you've gotten your acne cleared up, it's important to continue with the treatment that's working so it does not return.

7.Understand that if all else fails, contact your GP. They may be able to prescribe specific mild antibiotics that can eliminate acne.

8.Keep in mind though, that the widespread overuse(taking antibiotics when you really don't need them or for something they don't treat) and misuse(not taking medication for the specified amount of time) of antibiotics has led to the development of multiple antibiotic resistant bacteria. That means that the antibiotics won't work for the things they used to (including your acne).

9.Keep hair off of your face. If you want to keep your bangs, then consider taking showers regularly or keeping your forehead clean with oil-dabbing cloths / clean tissues / etc.

Tips

*You may want to start a log outlining when you tend to get breakouts, or when they tend to improve to look for patterns that can help you treat the problems. Typical patterns include stress, and change in hormone levels (especially in women during the menstrual cycle).

*Acne medications may cause your skin to initially break out worse than before because all FDA-approved acne medications (benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur) are causing your skin to regenerate faster. This brings existing acne pimples already under your skin (but not visible yet) to the surface, which in turn causes a massive but fortunately temporary break out. Give the medications about one to two weeks and you will notice a big difference in the quality of your skin.

*You can also try Ciprofloxacin eye drops. Take 1/4 of a drop of the medicine on your finger (of course wash it) and apply it on acne or where it is prone to come. Don't put too much as putting too much has no benefit. Just a thin film will be enough. I works very well because ciprofloxacin is a wide spectrum antibiotic. Keep in mind Ciprofloxacin is a very powerful antibiotic used for serious infections. The widespread overuse and misuse(using for acne would defiantly fall into this category, as Cipro is used for serious infections like ANTHRAX) of antibiotics like cipro have led to the emergence of super bugs that are resistant to almost all of our most powerful antibiotics.

*See a dermatologist if over the counter remedies do not work. They specialize in skin care and can prescribe you medicines that help you improve it.

*Don't stress out! Stressing out can only makes acne worse. Find ways to stay calm in your life.

*Drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated can help your condition improve, because the "waste management" control system in your body requires a lot of water to do its job. Without enough water, the body has difficulty removing some waste products efficiently. You said that you only drink water, maybe you don't drink ENOUGH water heh? You need to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (depends of how old you're)

*Look for face washes which contain the active ingredient benzoyl peroxide. This is the key ingredient in some of the best face washes. use a 5-10% benzoyl peroxide of mild to moderate acne and 10% for severe.

*Try smashing one tablet of aspirin in a small bowl, then adding lemon juice to the mixture. Apply to the affected areas overnight. It boosts the healing process while reducing redness.

*Try putting toothpaste (paste, NOT gel) on your face, cover it with a bandage, and keep it on all night. When you wash it off in the morning your acne will look better. The astringent and surfactant nature of the toothpaste will help diminish the appearance of pimples. But the toothpaste has been known to burn sensitive skin of the face, so be careful. If your face does burn, stop acne treatments and work on healing your burn.

*Another way to zap pimples is shaving cream. Apply it to your pimple and it will dry it up. It disappears by morning, but wash your face after waking up.

*If nothing is working for you, drink four tablespoons of apple cider vinegar diluted with water daily. It works very well for some people and is worth a try. Another good solution is aloe Vera gel fresh from the plant, taken orally.

*You can also try taking a zinc tablet everyday.

*Photo therapy or blue-light therapy is an increasingly common form of treating facial or body acne. It uses light that interact with porphyries in skin bacteria to reduce bacteria production and rectify acne. Many dermatologists use this form of treatment in a clinic setting, but it can be costly and time consuming. Health Canada recently approved a new product that has the same therapeutic effect, but it can be administered by the individual.

*Get plenty of sleep! They don't call it "beauty-sleep" for nothing!

*dab garlic juice on emerging and mature pimples

*treat acne with benzoyl peroxide that are available in your local stores

*disguise a pimple with eye-redness relieve eye drops by applying to a Q-tip and hold on pimple for about 10-15 seconds.

*Mix a packet of fast acting yeast with enough tea tree oil to make a paste. Spread over emerging pimple and cover with bandage %26amp; leave on overnight because yeast will cause the pimples to rise out of the skin while the tea tree oil attacks it.

*Soak a cotton ball in warm salt water. Press on top of blemish for 3 minutes to dissolve the top. Then, dab a bit of honey on the affected area to deep clean the pore and draw out bacteria. Let it sit for 10 minutes

*Learn to live with acne: No one really wants acne, but it's hardly the worst skin ailment. It's likely you're the only person to notice. Learn how to use cover-ups such as tinted acne creams or makeup. Cover your forehead breakout with a breathable silk scarf.

*One thing you should do is change your pillow case(s) every day. That way you won't get any oil or dirt on your face again.

*If you wish use Proactive it works well!

Warnings

*A mild facial sunburn can help get rid of acne by accelerating the removal of pimpled skin, forcing the body to generate more skin faster, but this increases the risk of skin cancer considerably.

*Do not use too many different types of acne medication at the same time. It can cause more irritation and increase your acne.

*Consult a doctor if your acne is open or bleeding.

*Benzoyl peroxide-based products can (and usually eventually do) bleach hair and fabrics. Be extremely careful using them around brightly colored or dark colored fabrics, as you can end up with ruined towels and shirts. (You may want to only use white towels and sheets while using these products).

*Make sure you are not allergic to products/ingredients mentioned in this article before using them.

*Be careful with what prescriptions you take! Some oral prescriptions, including Accutane and similar products, can cause irreversible liver damage. Talk to your doctor or dermatologist before taking them.

*At the fitness center is where you can get tons of nasty acne always wear gloves and use lotion.

*Don't buy multi-step "active" style solutions. If you read the labels, they contain the same active ingredients that other over-the-counter acne medications contain: salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or sulfur.

*If you are pregnant (and pregnant women often get acne) consult your doctor be
Reply:go back to the dermatologist, the same thing happened to me, I was prescribed a product that irritated my skin so after trying for a few weeks I stopped using it and orderd proactiv. the proactiv did absolutley nothing at all so I went back to the dermatologist and he gave me a product that was more gentle and it has worked great (:
Reply:Sorry you're going through this. First of all i probably have the same type of acne you have which is mild to pretty clear sometimes. I have had some bad breakouts before and take care of my face pretty good just like you but of course i still had problems. I have tried proactive and no it does NOT work! Main problems with acne is oily skin and irritation. I would suggest Murad, its the ONLY thing that's ever worked for me. I have tried all the Clean and Clear, nuetrogena...yadayada... Murad doesn't irritate your skin. It is like proactive 3 steps... but it actually works because it keeps your skin balanced, not too dry or oily. It is however a little more expensive $30 to start but I guaranteed it will work or at least make it a LOT better.
Reply:Its A way Of Life , Its just one of those things you have to go through, just face it.

But the key is to acne, is to pervent it. if you pervent it, you wont have any problems in the future,

I have tried all the products you can imagine. they rather burned up my face or caused a breakout. But im using one now that seem to be working [ yeppie!] Its called Clean %26amp; clear Advantage 3 pack. It comes with a cleanser, moisturizer and the spot cream you might have seen on TV. If You want more information, go to their website.

If Not, Go to your local doctor and he will point you in the direction of a perscription and maybe if it serious a Dermatioligiost
Reply:proactive is the one made my face worse

Reply:Hello, you are doing the best you can but I would consider going to a good local esthetician. The challenge with derms is they don't always have the time to share with you the after ca re needs of acne sufferers. The most important items to do are cleansing, toning, exfoliating and moisturising the skin. The bacteria p.acne thrives in the clogged follicles. When the bacteria and the pus leak from the follicles into the surrounding tissue, pimples are formed. Find someone who is very good at extractions and make sure they offer blue light therapy.
