It split pretty deep. I go to the boxing gym and walk barefoot on the wressling mats (like everybody else, its a rule) and I think it must be athletes foot. I wonder however if it's something to see a doctor about if there is a lesion or a crack in the skin. It hurts, but it just happened today, and I have tenactin.
The skin below my toe just split, athlete's foot?
sounds like it. Those do hurt really bad, and you can pick it up anywhere but wrestlers mats are notorious for carrying icky germs like fungal infections. Use Lotrimin or Tenactin and in a few days you'll be fine. Also try to keep your feet clean and dry (white cotton socks, an extra pair if you sweat) and don't walk in any public place barefoot!
Reply:I have the same problem and I fell for you. I really recommend that because it just started to buy some cream over the counter ASAP, change your shoes, and try not to use the same pair everyday.
Also, dont take too long or it will pass to your other foot. As a rule try to alway dry your feet and use some powder after work outs
Reply:treatment for athlete's foot is pretty easy. for your case, wash antiseptic over the lesion to prevent other bacteria from entering the skin break. make sure your toes and feet are dry. tenactin or daktarin the area affected, i.e. under your toe, and do have some dry gauze to cover the affected area. slip your socks on and you can resume your boxing gym activities.
my best bet for the whole thing to clear up would be about 9 days (with skin intact and so on.)
Reply:Could be just get some blue star ointment and vaseline..this will make it feel better...going into a guys shower in college I caught it form those disgusting little puddles in the shower...yuk.
