what happens when you have a huge amount of skin over your ingrown toenail? what will happen when i go to the doctor? i thought the toe was going to heal itself but it didnt then skin grew on top of my toe and now im scared to go to the doctor and scared of what my parents will think of it. i really dug myself in a deep hole.

They may pull the whole nail they did that to my step son he did the same thing cut straght across not curved to the quick.
Reply:seriously they are going to have to amputate your toe and you will walk funny for life as this will impact your balance go the emergency room now! LOL
Im kidding the y probably will give you a general anesthetic to numb the area cut off the skin and the o;d nail and allow a new one to grow in probably,...because there is probably fungus and infection under the old nail.
Understand that that white stuff between the nail and the skin is the cuticle,.. get one of thos burgundy called cutile remoer and you can push and trim the cuticle.... that needs to be removed so the nail can breathe
go get a professional manicure so u can see what it is they are doing then you can do it your self an maintain never haveiing this problem again once you start to have it fixed.
Additionally where white cotton or cotton dress socks to absorb sweat repeated wearing of polyester socksonly keeps bacteria in and around the foot and doesnt allow it to breath properly making it smell and everything else.
But tell your parents why are you afraid ? They will take u to the doctor to get it fixed

Reply:ooh, ouch! Go to a doctor before it gets any worse. It could become infected with Gang-Green, and then they'l have to cut you're whole toe off.
