What's my skin tone & am I "warm" or "cool"?

I am bi-racial (mexican/irish) and have yet to figure out my skin tone, so I avoid most color (clothes, lipstick, eye color, etc.). My (natural) haircolor is a very dark (level 2 or 3) ashy brown. The only foundation I have found that matches exactly is Prescriptive's yellow/orange 02 (I have very light skin, but am not "pink"). My eyes are a medium green/brown hazel. The only clothing colors that I feel confident in (aside from black) are deep jewel-toned reds, greens, and blues. I need help with skin tone so I can start wearing makeup (especially lipstick) and maybe try a new hair color. Department store counters have not been helpful and provide me conflicting info (warm, cool, and various - or even no - undertones). Also, I was sitting in a conference last weekend and I felt (looking in the conference hall mirror) that my skin had a gray cast compared to other lighter skinned people. I was wearing light green and cream. Help please:)

you are cool, the ash hair, brown in your eyes gives it away. stick to the jewel tones, thats what is correct for you. a plus since thats what you are most confident in right?
Reply:Definitely a winter (cool), since you know you look fantastic in deep jewel tone colors. You might want to get the Color Me Beautiful book to show you what colors you can wear in the winter category.
Reply:well you can always wear neutrals, they work either way. that would be your best bet. if you are really wanting something more, then all i can say is maybe try some different things out and see what works best for you. i am able to wear both warm and cool shades, i think it depends alot with what the shades are and how they are applied. good luck, but if all else fails try wearing some nuetral shades and see how that works for you.
Reply:I know this prob won't help your answer with what you were looking for, but what I always go by with me is not worrying about cool or warm colors. I go with what makes me happy and what I think looks good on me no matter what season it is or skin type I am. Anotherwords, go with colors and makeup that makes you happy and makes you who you are. If you like red, then wear red, if you like purple, then wear purple, same thing with makeup. I like doing this because it draws out my personality. I hope this helps.
