Ugly skin?

my skin there are pores, big pores and it looks really bad on my skin. It doesnt seem smooth. I also got indented acne scars (not deep)

what can i do to get rid of these big pores that make my skin look really bad and also these indented scars?

im currently using tretonoin aka retin-a alsp im using vaseline deep conditioning cocoa butter.

i also tried mederma but that doesnt work for me

help please thanks much

**someone recommended glyoic or w/e skin peel is that the right product for me?

thanks a lot

Ugly skin?
Do not use glycolic acid products while using Retin-A. Both are exfoliants %26amp; you risk taking off too much skin.

Keep using the Retin-A %26amp; give it time to work. Retin-A also encourages collagen production but it takes a while for your skin to heal from the acne.

Apply sunscreen every day because your skin is more prone to sunburn. Use a lighter fragrance free moisturizer if possible. (ex. Oil of Olay, Cetaphil lotion)
Reply:Well proactive works great for anything really
Reply:I wouldnt recomend you any of those products without confirming a doctor. The doctor will no whats right for you and they will tell you which product is right for your skin, wheather a medicated product or your normal average ones where you could find anywhere?
Reply:I agree w/ the person who said not to do peels, it will only take off skin and make your problems worse. Try this instead,

try applying cucumber juice from fresh cucumbers. Run a peeled, fresh cucumber ( buy the one that comes in a plastic wrap) through a juice maker and use it to wash your face with every morning instead of a regular cleanser. . Pour the juice into a deep plate and dunk and soak each side of your face in there for a few minutes . ( first one side and then the other). After that pour it on the palm of your hand and smoothe it over your face.

. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash it off w/water only

This will make your skin softer, smoother and also help w/oiliness as well as tighten your pores. It also helps to soothe and heal skin. It also draws out skin's impurities such as blackheads, etc.
Reply:Don't use vaseline on your face it is not good.

Have you ever used or heard of Arbonne?

They make 3 face regimes. One is for acne the other for the 16-29 year old and the 30 ++ I have noticed personally that my pores are a lot better (not as large, and cleaner)

It has a hydrating wash, toner and creams that self adjust to all skin tones.

Reply:I have big pores too and oily skin. Unfortunately, you can never get rid of pores. They are there..forever. You can reduce the size of them slightly. I have had success with using a facial scrub once a week. I also don't use cleansers or astringents. My routine is: Ponds Cleansweep towelettes morning and evening, followed by Olay complete lotion for combination/oily skin. Once a week, I use Avon ANEW Clinical Micr-Exfoliant. Since I started doing this (about a year ago), my skin is much less oily, my pores appear smaller, and I rarely have acne. However, if you are already using Retin-A, you should consult your doctor or dermatologist before starting any other kind of regimen.
Reply:Go to a day spa and get a microderm abrasion treatment, or a set of treatments. That will help with any acne indentions or current acne problems. Your esthetician will also know what to do about the big pores as soon as she sees it. If that is too expensive, than just go once and make sure you talk the esthetician up and get all the verbal advice you can plus one treatment.
Reply:Trust me, no matter how many products you may have tried that failed, you can safely and naturally eliminate acne, shrink pores, and lose all acne scars without getting a chemical peel or using glycolic acid. From the time that I was young, until the time that I was adulthood, I suffered from severe acne. I had acne and scars all over my face; and I also had blackheads all over my back. But, don’t be dismayed. Your story does not have to be the same as mine.

Avoid alcohol, acids, and chemical solutions. Alcohols, salicylic acid, Retina-A, and benzoyl peroxide, actually dry the skin; and because they are synthetic, acne-causing bacteria become immune to the chemically created solutions. Why? Because chemical solutions are created to treat the type of bacteria they sought to treat that was in existence when the solutions were made. Unfortunately, bacteria are living organisms and they learn to mutate quickly. When mutation occurs, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide fail. They also are harsh on the skin and create more scars.

Home Remedies

#1: Try opening up your pores by steaming you face. Pour hot water in a bowl or in your basin. If in a bowl, heat the water in your microwave for about 3-5 minutes and place your face over the bowl for 10 to 15 seconds. Do this three times. But, be careful not to scald your face. Take some ice cubes out of the fridge after doing this and rub them over your face.

#2: Scrub your face with baking soda and lemon juice. This is probably one of the most inexpensive, but pore-tightening and effective washes that you can use.

If you are not the home remedy type, or you would like to purchase something that will work even faster at shrinking your pores, then I suggest you buy Beauty 4 Ashes Large Pore Shrinking Kit. It is filled with several pore shrinkers, including citrus fruits and essential oils that tone the skin and tighten and unclog the pores, like sage oil. It works. Probably within 1-2 months, you should notice a difference in your pores, especially on your cheeks. You can find in some drugstores and online at www.discoverb4a.com.

Lastly, if you wear makeup, I would suggest you use less, or apply it only when you go to a big event so you can give your pores a chance to breathe and not stay clogged. This applies even if the makeup says that it does not clog pores.

Which daily facial cleanser is better for my skin??(combo skin %26amp;dry, flakey cheeks)?
Check out www.redqueencosmetics.com

You can read what the products do for your skin. Pick what best fits your need and you will see your skin transform. I know this because I have seen it work.

Products to look for: Nourishing foam cleanser, Purifying Foam Cleanser, Hydrating Toner, the concentrated mask is Fabulous as well.

Over the counter products have cheap fillers. Look for something that is natural and formulated for and by Dermatologist/Plastic Surgeons.

Stretch marks and loose skin on tummy??????

hi, i had my baby 3 months ago, but am left with quite deep stretchmarks below my belly button and slightly loose skin, is there anything that can be done to improve either of these, like tightening up the skin and fading the stretcharks.....

please also tell me your experience

thank you x

Stretch marks and loose skin on tummy??????
Palmer's Coca-butter for the stretchmarks. but for the loose skin tightening up only comes from the physical exercise. and stimulate the toning with the lotions.
Reply:just work out, or get sugery....

hope i helpedddd :]]]]

best wishes for your baby :]
Reply:I am only 13 but i am going through the same thing with the strech marks.. i am not pregnant.. try useing coco butter
Reply:I had my second child 4 years ago. I have horrendous stretch marks and lose skin. I am slim and toned everywhere else but there is no cure, other than surgery for the lose skin. The stretch marks do fade in time and I think there is some sort of lazer surgery you can have to get rid of them. A tan helps also. Sorry to be negative but its the truth im afraid. All the best for you and your new baby
Reply:Time
Reply:cocoa and shea butter helps with these issues can be purchased from many chemist

best is the combined cocoa and sheabutter but if no luck finding this together buy seperate bottles and mix the cream then apply

two boys who gave me a huge bump and left me with stretch marks looking like london underground map

i use cocoa and shea butter i find it great and it smells lovely too also good for softening skin so why not use all over

good luck
Reply:For the stretch marks get some bio-oil it is made to fade stretch marks and scars, i swear by it, it is so good. It costs about £8 for a small bottle but it lasts a very long time. i use it for my operation scars on my legs that are really bad and it does work. For the slightly loose skin try doing sit ups and more walking, it tightens and tones the skin it worked for me. Hope these ideas help you in someway GOOD LUCK :)
Reply:One of the most effective surgeries for women with stretch marks on their stomach from a pregnancy is a tummy tuck. The tummy tuck gets rid of extra skin and fat, making the stomach tighter and nicely shaped. In the process of this skin removal, stretch marks below your belly button are usually removed as well.

Another option is laser surgery. This type of stretch marks surgery is generally only for people whose stretch marks are still colored red or brownish. If your stretch marks have faded to more of a flesh color the laser will not be able to detect them. This surgery is effectively able to remove damaged skin and stimulate collagen growth, but may not always completely eliminate stretch marks.

Laser surgery can also become incredibly expensive. Each session can cost as much as $1000 or more, and depending on how quickly your skin reacts to the surgery, you may need multiple sessions of laser surgery before your stretch marks fade or go away.

If you are interested in more effective ways of getting rid of stretch marks, you can read abt them from this site: http://stretch-marks.my-fashion-house.co...
Reply:Hi there.. Don't feel too bad.. Your baby's only 3 months.. you're probably still breastfeeding.. and have realised that having a baby changes not only your entire life.. but your body..

Look on the bright side.. you have a beautiful baby.. that's priceless..

I myself... have the same issues... stretchmarks and loose skin above and below my belly button.. I exercise, watch what i eat and am back to pre-pregnancy size (if not smaller). I even went to see a plastic surgeon re: a tummy tuck.. and after seeing the pictures of scarring after a tummy tuck - i could not go through with it.. plus it was going to cost $10k.

Not all women have the same problem with stretchmarks and loose skin.. it all depends on the elasticity in your skin.. (it's in your genes).. no amount of cream or oil (during pregnancy) could have stopped stretchmarks and loose skin..

In time.. your stretch marks will become less obvious,, your loose skin (if your lucky) will bounce back (and if not)... then you could always consider your options..

Give yourself some time to adjust to being a new mum.... it's all worth it at the end... ;)
Reply:The most effective way to handle this problem is to follow a proper care routine that prevents their occurrence. You can either use olive oil, flaxseed oil, vitamin E oil or cod liver oil for the purpose of massage. Check out http://useinfo-stretchmarks.blogspot.com... for more useful info.

Skin Products?

What should I use for dry skin on my forehead, nose, and cheeks? I have the Neutrogena Deep Clean, but that doesn't help with dry skin! HELP!

Skin Products?
I have very very dry skin, and i have found the only thing that works for me. At a store like alberstons they have a natural isle and they have oils and such included in that isle- look for anything called jojoba oil. Then get a good face moisturizer ( i use olay beauty fluid) put a layer of oil on your face and then the moisturizer, i know this sounds like it would make you break out but the oil is amazing, just google it if you don't believe, people rave on and on about the stuff. Anyway, if my skin is too dry i just do that at night in a thick layer and in a couple days my skin isnt dry anymore!

good luck!
Reply:Get the Hydrating Creme Concentrate from Bee-Luscious. It is all natural and oil free moisturizer. It hydrates your skin. Most moisturizers just cover up the dry skin with a bunch of oil and really does nothing to help your skin. The Hydrating Creme is different. It really helps!

Reply:pom - c or hyaluronic acid from ww.athomeskincare.com. hyaluronic acid is the net miracle moisturizer, if you dont believe me google t, unbelievable. best price is on athomeskincare.com

What is the best drugstore cleanser for oily and acne prone skin??

i have some pimple scars..from popping :S which i know i shouldnt be doing.... oily skin and a few pimples. im looking for something that clarifies and cleans AND that actually works.

IM CURRENTLY USING clean %26amp;clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser BUT its for sensitive skin....Ive tried neutrogena oilfree acne wash( made it worse) %26amp; cetaphil in the past.

..I heard that clearasil cleared up my friends' friend skin up..unno about it though...

What is the best drugstore cleanser for oily and acne prone skin??
try st ives apricot scrub the one for oily/acne prone skin it has sacilyc acid in it ( =
Reply:nuetrogena acne stress control foaming wash it treats blemishs and prevents new one from forming it's great!!
Reply:OMG you have to use clean %26amp; clear oil absorbing sheets..

they are fantastic.
Reply:Nothing try a soap called flora from El grullo Mexico its really good its won prizes in Spain it removes acne and lightens and tightens face.
Reply:i use St.Ives. it's for oily/ance prone skin. i don't get pimples that much but it makes your skin soft and pimple free! it works great. try it!!
Reply:DO NOT TRY PRO ACTIV, YOU'LL ONLY WASTE YOUR MONEY, try, ACNEEFREE, it's the best, helps me.
Reply:Have you tried Stridex pads? What about using a sugar scrub or other abrasive cleanser to remove impurities, cleansing with cold water to shrink pores, let your face air dry %26amp; then apply a light moisturizer. Not applying any moisturizer will further promote your skins oil production. Your body will actually react like you have dry skin and try to produce more oil to protect it. Good luck!
Reply:well i would say use neutrogena but seeing as you said it made it worse. i would try aveno:) it worked for me.. i use pro-active now and i know its expensive.. but it really does work well.. hope you find something that works!:D

Reply:I used to have lots of acne, but then i got clearasil ultra daily face wash. That really helped. I also use the vanishing cream, and sometimes the tinted cream.

My face is really clear now, so maybe it will work on you.
Reply:Neutreogena has the best face washes. I have one called Acne Free Face Wash. It's in the orange bottle. For $3. I use it twice a day, once in the morning, and once at night.

Clean %26amp; Clear has an astringent. It's this liquidy thing in a bottle for $3. You just pour some on a cotton ball then gently rub it onto the acne areas. You do this 2-3 times a day. It dries up the skin (only works for oily skin acne), clears the pores, and gets rid of all the dirt. I got great results in as little as a week.

No, Clearasil didn't work for me at all.

Don't use Proactive either. It doesn't work. I spent so much money on it.

Don't use anything with those morning burst beads in it. It really irritates the acne and will make it red and much worse.
Reply:i tried a lot of acne washes, but the small content of acne medicine in them was actually making my skin worst. Because it dries your skin, and when your skin is dry it needs to make up for lost oils. ( the good kind of oil) . So it overproduces oil which led to my acne. So i found a gentle water based cleanser Evian. instead of harsh " exfoliating beads" ( which can tear your skin, and cause acne too) i use a simple soft face washcloth ( gently) to exfoliate and my skin looks sooo much better and healthier. when the weather is dry i use a light vitamin e lotion, really light tho. Or nicole miller light face moisturizing cream ( very very good) remember that everyones skin is different. i even went on proactive and it caused huge grey dry scaly patches on my face. so i stopped using it. Everyones skin is different., and you might need to try out a few different cleanser before you choose one that works. Or even a dermatologist ( but my doctor put me on a topical gel which made my skin sooo much worse) Also if i drink 8 glasses of water a day my skin looks great too!!! good luck!!
Reply:I always used a cleaner called Sea Breeze. It's strong, smells good, and it's been around for years. Then use the acne Rx after that.
Reply:I used to have the worst skin ever. I'm still oily but I don't break out that much. I've been using clean and clear morning burst face wash for about 2-3 years and I love it. It doesn't dry out my skin or anything, it feels great. After I wash my face I use clinique moisturizing gel, it's good for oily skin because it doesn't have oils in it. And I also use ponds face cloths after a long day and a quick clean up. if you have a pimple, don't pop it use like on the acne spot cream. I use the clean and clear on the spot stuff, dries it out right away and I don't touch it so I don't get scars. I'm planning on being a dermatologist so I've learned a lot haha. good luck.
Reply:I use St.Ives Apricot Scrub. It keeps my skin clear
Reply:Try St.Ives Apricot Scrub. It works really well on my skin. Also Neutrogena Clear Pore Mask/Cleanser is really awesome.
Reply:try using VMV superskin #3 for oily skin.it dries up pimples and control oil in skin because it has clindamycin combined with retinoic acid .Not only it dries pimples,it makes scar unnoticeable because of retinoic acid. pores are also unnoticeable.for facial wash try derm A tretinoin for acne prone skin.this removes excessive oil on face and gives smoother flawless face.try this two.it really works!!!!!!!!!!!

NOTHIN WORKS SOO HELP!!! tell me a prouduct that works %26amp;/or to help my skin THANKS!!!

HELP bad Skin!!!?
Try this from Mary Kay:

Velocity Facial Cleanser

Velocity Facial Moisturizer

Mary Kay Acne Treatment

Use the facial cleanser once a day, then the moisturizer three times a day, then the acne treatment once or twice a day. It'll clear up within a few days.

Trust me, I know. =P
Reply:hey.

i had the same problem, but it was mild not bad.

what i do, is i take a bowl of hot water and add salt to it. [however much you'd like] then, i wash my face with it as if it were regular water. Then, i add a whole bunch of salt to my face [when my face is still wet] until my face is covered in salt. I leave it on for 5-10 mins. Then, i rinse it with COLD water [to close my pores] and i take toothpaste and dab a bit on the spots where i have blemishes. This works because the toothpaste drys out your zit completely. just try not to put it on zit-free areas or it will make your skin EXTREMELY DRY!

it sounds crazy...but thats what i do when i get breakouts, and it helps.

%26lt;333 good luck!
Reply:Have you been to a dermatologist? I think they would be able to help more than anyone on here. If not, go to www.dermadoctor.com and check out her products. I use her KP Duty products religiously and they are absolutely amazing. They might have something better than ProActive (I've heard many dissatisfied customers complaining about that product).
Reply:try dermalogica, it's a little more expensive than the other products out there but it really works. The medicated clearing gel or the special clearing booster are great products from the range that you could try.

good luck.

:]
Reply:Any product(s) with Salicylic Acid 2% will definitely

help. Ask any dematologist.

Use it twice a day and you'll see results in

3 weeks.

Good luck with your skin.
Reply:I had the same problem with proactive. I went to my local macy's and talked to the professionals at the clinique counter. I started with the normal 3 step process and it worked but not 100% so I went back and they had me upgrade to the stronger clinique for difficult skin. It has worked wonders on my skin. I don't get pimples much anymore and it even got rid of some of my scarring. Everyone's skin is different and the people at the counter can tell you exactly what you need. Check it out.
Reply:Order Proactive. If it works for jessica it will work for you!

Is it bad to cut the dead, blisterd skin off a 2nd degree burn..after it healed for a few days first?

I recently recieved some 2nd degree burns. (heat burns, not chemical or electrical) They blistered up really badly. After about a week of healing I decided to cut the dead skin off half of them so I could put some neosporin on the actually wound...to help the healing process. I didn't do them all just in case it was a bad idea. After doing so, I realized how deep it was and how tender the new skin is. Now I'm unsure if it's a good thing or a bad thing. On one aspect, the dead skin is just getting in the way anyway and will cause even more of a scar(I think)...on the other hand I have no clue what will happen by removing it. I hear that when soldiers in Iraq come in with really bad burns they cut the blisters off.....but I'm not sure if it's true...nor if it's a good idea in my case. What should I do? Should I leave it or go ahead and cut the rest off too? If I should leave it do you think I should go see a professional? (I don't like going in unless it's serious)

Is it bad to cut the dead, blisterd skin off a 2nd degree burn..after it healed for a few days first?
If it were me, I would cut it off too. Just make sure you keep putting neosporin on it and don't get it dirty.
Reply:dont pick em or youll end up with a nasty looking scar!
Reply:Scabs PROTECT! Leave well alone. You open up the unhealed skin, you open up the superhighway to bacteria.
Reply:blisters form to protect the skin underneath. leave them alone! keeop putting neosporin on the ones you've cut off so that you can prevent infection.
Reply:Just leave it alone! it will heal by itself!
Reply:cut it off, cut it all off. then your hair and who knows where you'll stop
Reply:if you want some advice on enthytihng fashion, love, illneses email agony_auntie101@hotmail.co.uk
Reply:How awful. Let your body heal itself for chrissake. The dead skin is protecting the wound underneath.
Reply:no its not good. Common sense should have told you that!
Reply:use some aloe vera jelly/gel and vitamin E oils.
Reply:When I was a scout, they always said to leave the blisters alone. The dead skin will wear away on its own. My personal rule of thumb is, if it hurts, it's probably a bad idea.
Reply:Leave the skin where it is. The skin underneath a burn is very prone to infection and it is weak so it needs time to heal and needs to be protected from germs and infection. The best way to protect it is to leave the dead outer layer of skin on the outside. Keep the skin clean and dry and and try to protect it the best you can from getting knocked or damaging that top layer of skin. Your body is very good at looking after itself and when the skin underneath is ready then the dead skin on top will naturally come off. Admittedly this won't be pleasant, but best to leave your body to do what it knows best.

As for seeing a professional, the rule of thumb in the health service here in the UK is that if the burn is larger than the palm of your hand you should seek medical advice, if not you should be able to home medicate. If in doubt pop along and speak to your pharmacist.
Reply:YES its bad!!!! The tender young skin underneath is not ready to be "exposed". The burn patients you hear about are a totally different caes due to hygiene concerns, internal medicine, etc. You need to protect that living (and quite sensitive!) tissue from sun, "dirt" and germs, and abrasion. If you have areas you cut the skin away, keep them treated with Neosporin or the like and for Heaven's sake cover them up. Some people don't know this but the skin we can see is already dead and acts as a shield for the skin underneath. Good luck and heal quickly!
Reply:The purpose of the skin growing back is to protect from infection. Don't pick at it!!!!

Is orange skin and bleach blonde hair with brown roots the new standard for beauty?

Everywhere I go it seems that there is several groups of girls who bleach their hair, don't keep up with the bleaching so their brown roots show, and use fake-tan products that look....fake.

Surely, deep down inside they know that their natural skin and hair color looks the best, or is the new thing to look this way?

Is orange skin and bleach blonde hair with brown roots the new standard for beauty?

Small bumps under skin?

For years now, as I can remember, I have little lumps that are hard under my skin in random places on my body. Here is a list of where some are:

- Right forearm near elbow

- Left arm on underside a little closer to wrist than elbow

- A little bit under my left ribs

- On my inner thigh of right leg

- Behind my right ear

I think that's all of them. They don't hurt, unless I push on them a little and then it's a bit of pain but not much. You can push them around under the skin some, but not far really. They are hard, but not quite rock hard, and seem to be right under skin level or maybe a little deeper.

I haven't had any negative side effects to make me think it's any kind of sickness, I figured they were just natural. What made me post here is that the one behind my ear is new, so I was wondering. Also, I have a high intake of calcium in my diet, just for reference.

Any ideas?

Small bumps under skin?
I have had these since I was about 14 (im now 45) and have just recently had a new one appear I have about 10.

here is what they are.

A lipoma is a slow-growing, fatty tumor situated between the skin and the muscle layer. Often a lipoma is easy to identify because it moves readily with slight finger pressure. It's doughy to touch and usually not tender. You could have several that persist for years. Lipomas can occur at any age, but they're most often detected in middle age.

A lipoma isn't cancer and is usually harmless. Treatment generally isn't necessary, but if the lipoma is in a bothersome location, is painful or is growing, it should be removed.
Reply:maybe cysts... dude go to a doctor

Fairly deep cut, no stitches...?

I got a pretty deep cut on the palm of my hand at work two weeks ago (deep enough to see the fatty layer below the skin) and didn't get stitches. I basically stabbed myself with metal rod and it peeled back quite a chunk of skin. It left a flap of skin that was making it difficult to keep it clean so I removed that part but stopped at the thicker part that was still partially connected. I've kept it clean and it hasn't gotten infected but now that part is sticking out alot and the skin itself is numb like it is dying. The exposed fatty part is healing, but the wound basically isn't closing back up. What should I do?

Fairly deep cut, no stitches...?
Well, I guess you know by now you did need stitches. See your doctor as soon as you can.
Reply:Make a visit to the doctor, you may have to have the next layer of tissue excised so that it can properly heal together. They may even be able to re-cut, then stitch it for you. You should get it checked asap, as you are losing viable tissue as it continues to degrade.
Reply:they won't stitch now but it will heal in do time just keep it clean if in doubt check with the doc
Reply:i got get stitches and a tetnis shot, you need stitches because you dont want extra bacteria gettin in there and making things worse
Reply:You need to see a doctor ... there is possibly nerve damage and you may require a skin graft to cover the defect (the open portion of the wound) .... seek professional medical advice
Reply:Go to the ER it sounds like you screwed up your nerves. You seriously should have gone to the ER right away.

Neutrogena deep clean products?

which neutrogena product(s) are good. i have normal and kinda oily skin. 3 things i have my i on are...

deep clean facial cleanser.

deep clean invigorating ultra-foam cleanser.

deep clean gentle scrub.

Neutrogena deep clean products?
The gentle scrub is really effective. It cleanses the skin but also exfoliate it at the same time.I don't like the foaming cleanser because it dried out my skin.
Reply:It works I have it!:D

Reply:keep in mind that acne starts to develop up to six weeks before you actually see it. You need to use a product continously for that amount of time before you may see results. I would suggest either keep w/ the product you're using or switch to something specialized for your sking type. My skin is the same way, it used to get really oily and break out occasionally. I use noxema, and it works great for me. You just have to be patient, becuause it will take time. I know that sucks, but unless you want to pay forty bucks for proactiv or get a prescription, just wait.
Reply:You may be experiencing a lot of stress or your hormones may be changing at this point. There's really a lot of reasons you are breaking out.

Reply:I'm an esthetician, which means I do skin care for a living. I would say it depends on your age. MURAD is a very good line, but expensive. Check out their website and only use as directed, it is strong (i.e. if it says leave on for 10 min, don't leave on for 20!). Some of my younger clients do well with Neutrogena products. I would recommend an oil-free cream cleanser. A gel cleanser can strip you of oil, making your body produce more. If you can afford it, go get a facial and ask your esthetician for at-home care advice. She may refer you to a dermatologist. Good luck, be patient and DON'T PICK! Scars are worse than pimples.
Reply:ok, i have have typed this so many times, i hope this is worth it.

Step one: go to walmart and go to the section with stuf for ur acne and pick two things out. face wash (i use aveeno) and any kind of acne solution u want (i use a product from Clearpore, its blue liquid that u put on ur face with a cotton ball).

Step two: one of the most important things about getting rid of acne is wash ur face twice a day, morning and night. do that with the face wash

step three: to make sure the acne solution u picked is right for you, start using it only once a day. if ur skin isnt peeling or all flaky then it is working, and u should start using it twice a day right after u use ur face wash. if it is bad, then the only solution is to go back to walmart and keep on searching until u find something that works for you

step four: DO NOT PICE AT UR ZITS. it will only make them worse. this is about as important as washing ur face is.

step five: if ur acne is extremly bad, have a doctor prescribe something to you. once you get the prescribed stuuf, use normal acne solution in morning and prescribed stuff at night (u still wash ur face twice a day). if skin is not peeling or flaky after a couple of days, start using both products twice a day

i hope all this helps u to get rid or ur pimples.

p.s. it might be about a month before u start seeing real improvement (sry, but its the truth) so dont freak out if all ur acne isn't gone in a couple of days. and don't use any makeup or that much hair styling products, both will make ur acne worse.

hope this has helped

Reply:Okay. First of all, a good product with Benzoyl Peroxide will kill bacteria on the skin and help dry out existing acne. I tried the ProActive solution and found it BROKE my skin out WORSE. The best product with Benzoyl Peroxide is Thomas Peter Roth. They have BPO 5% Acne wash,

BPO 2 1/2 % Acne Pumice Scrub (once or twice a week) Aloe Tonic Mist (replaces your astringent and neutralizes skin ph) and a great alpha hydroxy moisterizer. I bought mine at the salon where I got my facials but Heres the website:

http://www.peterthomasroth.com/index.htm...

Okay. Now I use a product called Jan Marini. This is a Glycolic Acid based product. This has been the best for my skin. It made me break out, lots of little whiteheads, but this went away after one week. Because this product is so exfoliating, it makes EVERYONE break out at first, bringing up whatever is in the deeper layers of skin. This has by far been the best, second choice for me is the PTR products. Also I got the Jan Marini product where I get my facials. Heres a link:

http://www.janmarini.com/skincaresystem....

Okay... these products are professional, and a little expensive. However, one purchase of the systems would give me 3-4 months of use. How often do you buy products at the grocery store or walmart? It is worth it to spend the money on some good skin care products. Also try to get a professional facial once every month or two, and listen to your estheticians advice, you will never regret spending that money. Email me if you want to talk more.

What's Up With My Skin?

My skin is sensative I think and combination as well...I have like 4 pimples if that but the thing that makes my skin look bad is the blemishes and texture/tone. When my pimples go away they leave blemishes that are hard to get rid of and I am up for the challenge but don't know what to use. The pores on my nose look big/deep if you know what I mean. The skin on my uppercheeks next to my nose looks the same. Every 1-7 days I try a new face wash and I know that is half the problem I am not consistant with anything. Salycic acid makes my skin look funny so I thnk it is too harsh but I don't know what else to use for blemishes. Peroxide has no effect on my skin (crazy hugh). Immediately after I wash w/ some things it makes my pores close and look smaller but in a couple hours they go back to looking ugly. What can you tell me what is up with my skin and what products can I use I love Dove by the way but I think I may need something for the blemishes. Also how do I properly clean my face?

What's Up With My Skin?
Drink more water!

Reply:uhhhh.. wow. like the biggest question ever! seriously, i think this is a question you need to see a skincare professional about. my mother suffers large pores and believe me, there are solutions! .. just not on Yahoo answers.

this really seems like something you need to see someone professionally about. there are plenty of skin clinics around so it's not an issue. if your willing to spend a decent money on keeping your skin beautiful, which you may need to do, than invest in natural products (if you can afford), which i strongly recommend.

i really hope this helps you!! good luck!
Reply:um... if you aren't over 40 yet

then dont worry about "sagging and wrinkles"

that's a bit early to worry about all that

=)

and it's a good thing that you use new face wash, i have heard that helps skin and nourishes it =)

um... i wouldn't recommend any new products until you see a demortologist

b/c it's weird that your skin doens't improve after peroxide

also try using soap, like natural material made soap

i used to have a lot of acne

and now i use soap instead of facial wash from jars

since then my facial skin has been better (actually much improved ) hehe

hope this helps

ps. still i'd recommend you seeing a demertologist

that way you get professional help
Reply:First of all, Don't wash your face with hot water. Always use lukewarm water. Your face is probably so oily because its so dry. i know that's not how a professional would explain it but your face produces oil to moisturize. You need to be using a good moisturizing lotion in the morning at at night. In time, this will help reduce your oily skin problem. Also, it should reduce pore size. your pores are so big because they are producing so much oil

The face washes you are buying at Wal-mart or any store of that sort, are bad for your skin and making the problem worse. invest in a good face wash. Ultimately everything you are doing is drying out your skin and therefore you are producing more oil.

Go get a couple treatments from an aesthetician. They are better than dermatologists and cheaper. Talk to them about your problems and they will be able to educate you. they will also have some great quality face washes and moisturizers. I have a friend that is an aesthetician and I have been seeing her for quite a while now. Before i went to her weekly, I had larger pores and very oily skin.

***Everyone on here is telling you to go to a dermatoligist. This means they all know nothing. Don't waste your time with them, go to an aesthetician. They treat the skin with natural methods, not harsh drugs that will make you suicidal among other things

*** I'm reading other peoples' answers and I am complerely unimpressed. If your skin is oily thats exactly why you need to use a good moisturizer after you clean your face well morning and night. Always wash and rinse with luke warm water. Not cold, but just warm enough that its not cold. i am very passionate about this topic and you are getting a lot of bad info, and then some basic info. yes drinking water is important but not going to make a noticible difference with your problem. Once you correct the oiliness and get a great cleanser, you are going to notice you skin start to feel more firm again and that will reduce the look of the lines you are talking about.

Also, flax seed oil helps reduce pore size, you can get it at GNc or wal-mart for that matter in tablet form. Here's what is said about it: "The essential fatty acids in flaxseed oil are largely responsible for its skin-healing powers. Red, itchy patches of eczema, psoriasis and rosacea often respond to the EFA's anti-inflammatory actions and overall skin-soothing properties. Sunburned skin may heal faster when treated with the oil as well. In cases of acne, the EFAs encourage thinning of the oily sebum that clogs pores.
Reply:girl if your brown like me u can't listen to white folks no offense different king of skin. get a gentle cleaner and a mild scrab. and i light toner. clean you skin twice with the cleaner in the morning. once to clean and than to get any exra stuff. than use the toner only on the dark spots. than at night use the clearner than the scrab. use a light mosterizer. ( i spelt it wrong but u know what i mean) if your face is oily don't need to add so much. your skin is cloged thats y u have open pores and don't use hot water use warm but more on the hot side not to hot. than when u rinse ure warm but not to cold it sends your skin into a schock from hot to warm. wash in gentle circles.
Reply:Drink lots of water and invest in skin care products (creams, face wash) from some reputed companies like zenmed or murad.

The shot that goes under you skin to check if you have somthing? PVDD? what is it called?

my question is , the shot thats supposed to go under your skin to make a bubble under the skin and should go away if you dont have somthing. What if the nurse puts that shot deeper than just under you skin, what would that do? my last shot i had that was done right it went away in the same day but this time she screwed up and it is a knot and hurts. Will anything bad happen?

The shot that goes under you skin to check if you have somthing? PVDD? what is it called?
PPD TO TEST FOR TB ANTIBODIES PRESENT IN THE BODY. THE SHOT IS CHECKED IN 72 TO SEE IF THERE'S ANY SWELLING. ONCE U GET THE SHOT AND IT COMES OUT POSITIVE(SWELLING OR BUBBLE) YOU WILL BE SENT FOR XRAYS OF THE LUNGS AND CHEST TO DECTED TB PRESENT IN THE LUNGS. GETTING A POSITIVE PPD DOESNT MEAN U HAVE TB, IF U HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO THE BACTERIA AND HAVE THE ANTIBODIES IN YOUR BODY U WILL HAVE A POSITIVE PPD. TB BACTERIA TENDS THE HIDE IN THE BODY FOR A LONG TIME AND ITS HARD TO FIND, ONCE A PATIEN HAS A POSITIVE PPD IT WILL BE POSITIVE FOR LIFE. TREATMENT FOR A POSITIVE PPD IS LONG, 9 MONTHS OF TAKING A DOSE OF ANTI-TUBERCULOSIS MEDS DAILY.

GB VACINE GIVEN TO THOSE BORN IN HOT CLIMATE COUNTRIES CONTAIN A KILLED OR WEAK BACTERIA OF THE TB, THE BODY THEN WILL DEVELOP ANTIBODIES AGAINST IT. THOS WHO HAVE RECIEVED THIS VACINE IN THEIR COUNTRY WILL HAVE A POSITIVE PPD, BUT DOESNT MEAN THAT THEY HAVE TB.

... KIND OF HARD TO EXPLAIN. JUST KNOW THAT AS LONG IS THERE'S NOTHING SHOWING ON YOUR XRAYS U SHOULD BE OK. KEEP IN MIND THAT THE TB BACTERIA TENDS TO HIDE FOR MANY YEARS THAT'S WHY TREATMENT IS GIVEN EVEN THOUGH THE LUNGS XRAYS COME OUT CLEAR.
Reply:the abbreviation is actually ppd which stands for purified protein derivative. it tests to see whether you have been exposed to tuberculosis. if you have been exposed it will react with things like redness and swelling, then further tests like a chest xray need to be done. it won't do anything harmful if they inject it further than right under the skin, but the nurse should have done it a second time on another site like the other arm to make sure the results would be accurate. since it was injected deeper than it should have been, it may hurt and develop a bruise but shouldn't do you any harm.
Reply:The shot is called ppd which is to test you for tuberculosis. It is also called a tb test or mantoux. The nurse should have slipped the needle under your skin at an acute angle and the fluid should make a bubble under the skin of your forearm. If you had the shot elsewhere on your body it was most likely a different immunization. Some immunizations given in the arm or thigh can cause a similar reaction to what you are describing. If you need to go back within 48 hours to have it checked it is the PPD. If not, it could be the MMR (measles mumps Rubella). If it is MMR then warm compresses and gentle massage should make it go down within a few days.

I have a patch of rough, hard skin on the sole of my foot?

Its not that big but its deep as ive already pick some hard skin away. Are there any home solutions that I can put on it so I can remove it

I have a patch of rough, hard skin on the sole of my foot?
go and see a teropadist. i cant spell sorry.. they can cut it off or soak in hot warm and then kind of scrape it off fith a knite or a pad you can get from the chemist
Reply:Get a foot file and try and file it down. Best to treat is using Eucalyptus foot cream to soften the area. Having soaks in warm water to soften the skin then apply the cream after drying with a towel. Wear sock (preferably cotton), eventually it will be easier to file or just become soft.
Reply:That is a calous. Use a pumice stone to remove it.
Reply:why not just moisturise it and put on some socks over the moisturiser...the same can be done with vaseline but do it at bed time as it may cause slippery feet!!!u can also use a nail file and file it down gently before hand
Reply:Don't pick at it, because it's hard to grow back and you can get an infection. They are just callises, put some good lotion on, and cotton socks. Everyone has em` though.

I got the "Origins" product for skin care, how do I use it???

I have three bottles:

1/ "Matte Scientist" (Oil controlling lotion)

2/ "Get Down" (Deep-pore clay cleanser)

3/ "Oil Refiner" (Skin purifying tonic)

Can someone show me how to use those (I appreciate if the explain as specific as possible)

Thank You

I got the "Origins" product for skin care, how do I use it???
Most often, the order of usage should be a cleanser, followed by tonic, and then finished off with lotion. The cleanser is often used to purge dirt out of pores and to skin surface, the tonic then wisks it away leaving skin clean and tightens pores, the lotion then moisturizes (the tonic might strip skin of essential oils which need to be replenished). You should complete this kind of regimen before bed and use a light cleanser in the morning.

When specificially referring to origina products, please see the following:

1)Get Down (Deep pore clay cleanser): HOW TO USE: As a cleanser: Squeeze into palm of hand. Swirl over dampened skin with fingertips. Rinse. As a mini-mask: Apply a thin layer to face, avoiding eye area. Leave on 1-2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Pat dry. This product is for oily/combination skin.

2)Oil Refiner (Skin Purifying Tonic): HOW TO USE: Shake well. Sweep over face with cotton ball after cleansing. Repeat until cotton ball comes away clean. Avoid eye area. This product is for oily skin.

3)Matte Scientist (Oil Controlling Lotion): HOW TO USE: Apply over cleansed face, morning and night. Avoid immediate eye area. This product is for oily skin.

It looks like you have the perfect set for oily skin - as recommended by origins.

Good luck!

Got hurt. the wound, not very deep, has closed. just a scab. do i need to worry about infection?

as in does it necessarily mean that if the wound has closed, i can stop worrying abt it? it still itches a bit. another deeper one is taking some time to heal but there's no pus or anything. the scratches on my shoulder are not deep at all. just a bit of skin got peeled off (there was quite some bleeding though). by a gilette razor. looks like it's closed and healing. no pus but it hurts a bit on pressing and i keep imagining my arm is feeling funny. is it just my imagination? can i stop worrying about it?

Got hurt. the wound, not very deep, has closed. just a scab. do i need to worry about infection?
You do not need to worry, Once a scar turns into a scab this means that the scar is healthy and slowly healing at its own pace.

Just don't think about it, after a couple of days you will not need to worry.

You may have a bruise on your wound but this cannot result in infection it just may hurt if you use your hand too often, Or push your muscles in your hand to hard.

It shall heal in time.
Reply:yes
Reply:keep it clean and try to keep it dry for at least 1 day and put aniseptic powder on it.
Reply:if you are cutting then you have a probelm? if you have a scab, and it is iching it is healing don't pick it
Reply:as long as it's not red around the site, or oozing, you should be fine. a little redness is ok (inflammation as the wound heals), but if it expands, that's not good. itching is normal for a healing wound.

good luck!
Reply:the scab protects you from infections and sometimes they itch. so no, nothing to worry about :]
Reply:Be careful not to scrape off the scap or else it will scar. That hapened to me.
Reply:i wouldnt worry too much if i were you just put savlon on open cuts or some type of cream like that and if your still worried or the itching carrys on then get ur doctor to check just in case, i hink its just a matter of time though.
Reply:is the skin around the scab bright red? If not, you're fine. As long as you cleaned the wound...

Sounds like you're paranoid... :-)
Reply:I would think that you are fine. Cuts always itch and have redness around them when they heal. You should keep nepsporen on it.
Reply:If it itches it is healing. As long as it is not red, swollen or hard around the area I wouldn't worry.
Reply:Itching is normal when it heals. If the wounded area starts swelling up, go to a doctor. I had a deep cut on my leg once that I treated at home-about 5 days later my foot started swelling. I went to the doctor, got antibiotics, then it was fine. But it was getting infection.
Reply:I would stop worrying about it, you got cut it should be painful to the touch! As long as the healing is progressing and scabs are forming you should be ok. I would make sure that it stays clean and that you let it breath as long as the skin stays red around the scab and does not start to turn white and firm you will be fine. If it does turn white around the scab and when you press on it, the indention stay for over 10 seconds I would just pop over to the doctor for further investigation.
Reply:Hi I am slightly worried how you became hurt did you hurt yourself? Anyway check on your tetanus inoculation just to be on the safe side. I presume you cleaned the wounds well to begin with. Try not to worry the body is amazing at how it heals itself. When a wound is healing it is often itchy this is a good sign. Take care see your doctor if you need help
Reply:Check for a red line running up from the scraped/ cut part. If you have one get to a Dr. right away!

If you're not infected ( red or pus) any more, try putting some fresh aloe to help healing and keep from scarring.
Reply:the itching is from heeling

sorry you got hurt..but , like and wound you need to take care of it the right way and don't let clothing irritate it.

i would use a ointment like neosporin + pain relief or some infection defense cream (also make sure it's some type you can use or have used before) or ask a pharmacy person to help and remember to take good care of your body so you don't have scares later in life
Reply:You don't need to worry about infection unless you wound is red around the scab, warm to the touch or oozing fluid. Keep it clean and apply antibiotic ointment (neosporin, polysporin)after every cleaning and cover with a clean bandage. The itching is a sign of healing.
Reply:Surface cuts do bleed more then a deeper cut sometimes. Not really sure why you have these razor cuts in those particular areas though. (Non of my business).

As long as the area is not red and inflamed you should be fine. You also stated no puss which is a good thing. The reason you feel the itching is because the wound is trying to heal. (Happen with a surgery scar as well).

I'm sure you can back down off the panic mode you have put yourself in and move on. But before I close, remember this if you convince yourself that something is wrong, you will convince your Brain that as well. If you can calm down your train of thought about worrying about this issue the weird feelings will soon go away as well. The more you scratch it, the worse the scar will look once it's healed. Let it be and all will mend itself.

Best of luck to you
Reply:wounds will itch that just means that they are healing. most wounds will have slight pain when touched because of damaged nerves. They will also have some redness. if the wounds get more painful, start oozing, or start to have a nasty smell call your doc. As for the paranoia. If it would make you feel better tohave a doc look at them go ahead. you can always use neosporin to help them heal and keep them from getting infected. Mederma helps heal scars. Be sure to keep them dry and don't pick at them you'll make them worse.

How did you get the other wounds?

If you need someone to talk to I am here.
Reply:Stop WORRYING! You're like me a hypocondriac [I spelt that wrong, sorry. ] You just need to calm down.... I get scratched all the time and as well as poked, stabbed, etc...

I always rub anti-baterial hand wash [that nasty smelling stuff hospitals use when you first go in to stop germs spreading].. It'll hurt like hell but it cleans the wound. But peroxide kills the skin in the wound so save that for when you see puss. Slather on some neosporen [or some other cream for healing cuts] and put on a band-aid or gause pad with tape [if its a big wound].

Resist the urge to SCRATCH! You'll only remove the scab and make it worse. Take some allergy pills and relax. And again don't worry about things.. But there's a fine line between being worried, paranoid and ignorant.

My brother punch his boss' door and hurt his baby finger, never went to the hospital 2 months later his hand still hurt, went to the hospital and found out he broke his finger but now the tip of the finger [2/4 of an inch] was literally gone, it shattered.

I fell in gym class about 8 years ago and landed painfulling on my knee. My mum was paranoid and took me to the hospital even though I told her it was nothing.. They did an ultra sound and everything and like I told her it was nothing[but I got some good pain pills out of it haha]

Don't worry but don't be ignorant to your injuries. If you worry too much it could turn into something worse [it's always that way].

Don't worry be happy!

Why is my son's skin peeling on the bottowms of his feet?

On my son's feet his skin is peeling on the tips of his toes, and like in the bend of his toes, in the bends of his toes its really deep it's not dry its moist skin.

Why is my son's skin peeling on the bottowms of his feet?
Skin cells die by the millions daily. So, our skin tends to die off and peel for different reasons.

1st possible cause: If your son has been in the pool or the ocean lately, the water and the sun will cause the dead skin cells to raise and peel.

2nd possible cause: If there is no way that your son has been near water lately, then he could be dehydrated. Peeling skin (especially on hands and feet) is a definite sign of dehydration. Make sure he gets lots of water and urinates frequently.

3rd possible cause: You sons skin hasn't peeled away the old dead skin in a while and you haven't noticed it. Sometimes it's perfectly normal to have peeling skin, because the new skin cells are pushing their way to the top to get oxygen.

If you think any of this sounds plausible, use the suggestions and lotion up his feet, if not, call his doctor.
Reply:Could be weather related or a skin disorder. Contact your sons pediatrician or a podiatrist.
Reply:It could possibly be athletes foot.
Reply:Has he had any fever lately? Sometimes, the fever will cause the palms of your hands and the bottom of your feet to peel. Also, my son's was caused by the rubber in sneakers. Even the expensive ones did it. Got him into loafers and the problem went away. He would still wear the sneakers, but only a FEW hours at a time.

Deep puncture/cut near wrist?

I was cutting something, Xacto knife slipped and landed near my wrist, deep cut/puncture. the top layer of skin came off..beneath it was withish.. then lots of blood.

I washed w/ soap, alcohol then an antibacterial ointment and a bandaid.. blood is sort of coming through the bandaid.. I'm pressing down on it.

no pain and its small.. maybr 1/4 - 1/8 of an inch.. I'm concerned because it's near veins.. what to do? It's late now, only ER is open.. but I doubt that's necessary

Deep puncture/cut near wrist?
I got cut with a huge cake knife while cutting brownies, I thought I was gonna die, it was a deep puncture near the thumb (palm) of my hand, it bled for a while but you'll be okay, just keep applying pressure and change bandaids if you must, it's good that you cleaned it too. my puncture didn't close up for about a week! If you cut a vein then you'd really be bleeding for a REALLY long time, but something that small isn't so bad.
Reply:if blood is 'sort of' coming through the band aid than i wouldnt say you have anthing to really worry about. just keep it covered and clean, If you're worried about blood loss.. you need to lose ALOT of blood before it's dangerous. If you were losing to much blood, you will start to feel dizzy/ light headed and get discoloration of the face, if you notice this dial an ambulance.. but honestly from the way you've said it I doubt very much that's going to happen,

It won't take long for the blood to clot and the bleeding will stop
Reply:I would go to the ER. The reason is that the wrist has many nerves, veins, arteries, ligaments and tendons. The cut may not look big on the outside, but if it is deep, there could be some long term damage not readily visible at the moment. You could get an infection. The whitish is probably tendons. Don't fool around with it.

A small "dent" in my skin has appeared on my face. Why!????

A small dent in my skin - about 3-4mm wide and about as deep as a sheet of paper - has appeared ony my face. It's just to the side of my nose imbetween my eyes. I have only recently noticed it, so it must only be within the last week or so that it has appeared.

It is not very deep at all, but it is noticeable. I do not get spots in this area, nor do i sunbathe/use sunbeds, so it is not an acne scar or skin cancer!!

My question is:

1. WHy has it appeared and what has caused it??

2. What can be done to level off the skin? I'm not being funny, but would a very light abrasive like extremely fine sand paper or a pummice stone help smooth off the skin and get rid of this dent/hole?

3. Or shall i leave it and will it eventually fill out??

Thanks!

A small "dent" in my skin has appeared on my face. Why!????
Fill it in with cement. You can pick a small bag up from B%26amp;Q for a couple of quid.
Reply:I'd go to the doctors anyway just to have it checked. If it doesn't go you can buy special make up- the kind that is used for acne marked skin. I'm sure that would work on the same principle. Could it be some sort of wrinkle?
Reply:I suggest not using anything on it. Your best bet is just to check with a dermatologist. It is quite possibly nothing to worry about.
Reply:Dont use a pumice stone as this will damage the rest of your face and leave you with a nasty rash which would look bad. Use some foundation for the moment and in a few weeks see if there is an improvement in the original hole as the skin can heal itself too.
Reply:If you are worried about it go see a dermatologist. It is probably nothing.

Does our skin pigment change over time?

I was wondering this because i have noticed over time that when i get a deep tan from being out swimming, my skin color goes from being really dark and to orange and then slightly tanned, and doesn't go back to it's original color( i have fair skin) and it seems to stay that color. And every year, the same thing happens, except i get darker. So i guess i have a sun tan, all the time then? What's the explaination?

Does our skin pigment change over time?
i've maintained my original fair skin color by using a good skin lightening product and sunscreen.. no matter what we do, you can't keep your original skin tone because the sun's UVA and UVB rays darken our skin, penetrating even in the shade... depending on how active you are outdoors, will determine how much tanning you'll get each year.. during winter, the skin tends to get back close to its original skin color.. but summer months are when the sun is at its hottest, which contributes much to tanning.. people of color like asians, african americans have more melanin content and tend to get darker.. white americans and caucasians have little melanin content that's why they had to go through artificial tanning..

if you want to lighten skin effectively, here's a good article about it -
Reply:ya, regular swimming and sun rays may change your skin colour .

Help on a deep dark tan that is natural??

i want a deep dark tan. i have very fair skin and i am NOT using lotions!! and don't pull the skin cancer on me either!! can ne1 help??? i have around 1 summer.

Help on a deep dark tan that is natural??
I also have very fair skin which cannot achieve a good tan out in the sun. However, I got a very nice tan using a lay down bed at Baja Beach over only a months time....but I did use a hemp lotion which really helped to get a "deeper" tan and it helped it last longer.
Reply:use baby oil or crisco or vegetable oil. But expect freckles and discoloration spots on your face to start as early as 30...
Reply:If you don't care about cancer, how about premature aging? too much sun causes sagging and wrinkling. Aloe vera gel will help minimize the short-term damage, but no matter what you use, the long-term damage will show up years later.

How do I get a lead marking out of my skin?

As I was running for my phone I stabbed myself with a pencil. It was recently sharpened and embedded itself into my thigh. It didn't break skin or anything, but it did go deep enough to leave a marking just beneath the surface of it. I've tried scrubbing it out, but it won't come off. Can anyone help me?

What is causing my skin pain?

My skin hurts!!! Feels like I had a deep burn and ANYthing that touches it hurts like crazy. This has happened several times over the last three years or so. I can't stand it! Now it is affecting more than my upper arm(s). Now it is hurting my forearms, hands, back, neck, chest, and face. Are there any physicians that have dealt with this? What is the cause? What is a cure or reliever?

What is causing my skin pain?
You need to see a dermatologist, it could be a number of things, including lupus. Make sure you tell them you have a bad rash when you set up the appointment, otherwise they will tell you its a 5-6 month wait. If they won't give you an appointment this week, call another dermatologists' office, heck, ask that one to refer another office that is less busy.

Astringents on oily skin?

I have particularly oily skin, so i bought this Clean%26amp;Clear Deep Cleaning Astringent....if i put it on in the morning, will it keep my face less shiney throughout the entire day or just for a couple of hours?

Astringents on oily skin?
Depends on your skin and depends on your astringent. Generally it should be enough to keep you shine-free for at least five or six hours. Past that, you might have to reapply.

Clean and Clear also makes oil absorbing sheets. Those things are a godsend! Basically they're little sheets of paper that you wipe the oily areas of your face with and it just sucks up the oil and leaves your skin completely matte looking. They're awesome! I use them to blot my face during the day, when I can't wash it, etc.
Reply:Clean and Clear is great for oily skin.. I have combination skin oil and dry, so I use witch hazel and it works great. Plus you can get a large bottle for less money that clean and clear.
Reply:it should work all day. and i too have oily skin
Reply:seabreeze
Reply:I also have oily skin, but I find astringents full of alcohol make the problem worse. Since your skin dries out when using astringents, skin then reacts by producing more oil to combat the temporary dryness. I think the best thing should should do is to get a light weight moisturizer (such as aloe vera gel). I would also recommend MAC blot powder to keep your skin matte throughout the day.

Ointments for fighting skin discoloration?

I am trying to find the best product to use on sun spots (skin discoloration.) I want to try Olay Deep Nourishing. Anyone else tried it or have suggestions???

Ointments for fighting skin discoloration?
Look for any of the following ingredients in your skin products for skin discoloration: retinoic acid, or AHA / glycolic acid. They will cause mild skin peeling that is barely noticeable and will leave skin even-toned, smoother, softer and younger looking.

These are not for everyday use, apply 2-3 times a week.

Reply:NO I haven't but you may want to try this http://cgarcia1.qhealthbeauty.com/produc...

The reason why I'm recommending you for this is because I have tried a lot of products before and nothing was ever as effective as this.

Dramatically and progressively improves skin brightness.

* After 2 weeks, skin is 37% brighter.

* After 6 weeks, skin is 65% brighter.

* After 8 weeks, skin is 76% brighter.

* After 12 weeks, skin is 116% brighter.

66% improvement in combined skin tone, clarity, and evenness of skin tone in 12 weeks. They also offer 100% money back guarantee I guess it's because they are so confident in their product. I use all their products and I have not returned one item back yet. Hope your stuff works and if not hope you find something as good as this.

Urgent please help got a DEep cut?

what should i do to prevent it to make it stop bleeding??

its pretty deep like i can lift my skin up and see the cut

oh man what should i do i let it run in water and pourd alcohol on it and now put 2 bandages on it and i made it tight

Urgent please help got a DEep cut?
...go to the doctor and get stitches...
Reply:Pressure will help stop the bleeding. You might want to go to the ER and have it sutured or bandaged. A tetnus shot would also be a good idea if you aren't up to date.
Reply:you need to go see a doctor urgent
Reply:Uh...u cant be hurting or bleeding that baaaad...ur typing! Go to a local clinic so that they can determine whether or not u need stitches.
Reply:Direct pressure to the area, using a clean cloth (a paper towel is good). Press (hard) it onto the wound until it stops bleeding. Press for a few minutes at a time before checking. When the bleeding stops, put antibiotic ointment on it and seal the flap with butterfly bandages (find at the pharmacy). If it hasn't stopped bleeding within 20 minutes, go to the ER.

The tetnus shot recommendation is excellent.
Reply:You need stitches dude. Don't joke around with something like that. Quickest way to get an infection and loose a finger.
Reply:you really need to see the Doctor about it and they will put snitches in it to help it and they might give u something for it to
Reply:Put allot of pressure on it. Good luck dude!
Reply:Direct pressure with clean cloth.

Elevate above your heart.

If bleeding, does not stop in like 5 minutes CALL 911.

In any case you WILL need sutures, so go to ER A.S.A.P.!

NOTE: DO NOT apply any type of tourniquet. If you do you could, cut off blood flow to your arm. And it will have to be amputated.

Drying skin with one other question?

For the past three days I have been using the self-foaming Neutrogena cleanser pads, Neutrogena toner, and Neutrogena moisturizer (all are the Deep Clean thing Neutrogena has). My skin has become a little dried out, and I'm not sure why. I have a Neutrogena Astringent (it's the Clear Pore thing Neutrogena has); although I'm not sure if using that instead of the toner will make any difference. Any advice? Also, for light pimples I use Clearasil Ultra pads. Now it says to cleanse skin before using. So should I use my Neutrogena cleanser then the Clearasil Ultra pads, then the Neutrogena toner, then the Neutrogena moisturizer?

Drying skin with one other question?
Yikes - you are over doing it girl. You don't need to use all of those products. Self foaming cleander, toner all dry out your skin, so does astringent. Please take my advice: If you are a teen you don't need moisturizer. You need a light cleanser at the end of the day and in the morning. Then just use something extra for pimples when you have some. You don't need anything else... companies just try to sell you all that extra stuff to make money. Just a light cleanser twice a day is all you need.
Reply:Perhaps what you're using is too strong for your skin and/or it's not for your skin type. If your skin is naturally normal/dry, then a toner is not for you as it contains alcohol which is drying to the skin. You want to use a freshener instead and always, always apply moisturizer as the final step in your cleansing regimen. Drinking more water would also be of assistance. I hope this helps Email me at nesa23us@yahoo.com if I can be of further assistance.
Reply:just get like a foaming cleanser to clean your face, and pimple pads to get rid of oh so embarrassing pimples. Less is more

Pigmentation is due to the deposition of melanin which is a coloring matter. The melanin is produced by specialized cells called melanocytes.

you can always use natural home-made masks, which don't spoil the skin like apples, peach.

and fruits like that but ....

WARNING:

a person can use anything on its skin if he/she eates it but!!!!

do not use sour things especially with acids, IT'LL BURN YOU!
Reply:Eeewww? There's nothing gross about this. grow uppppp

So the question-asker, I would definitly see a dermatologist (skin doctor) about this! They will be able to help you and figure out what's going on here.
Reply:Yes I also agree that you should seek professional help regarding this condition. I have added a link below which may or may not be of some assistant depending on what your pigmentation issues really are.
Reply:Are you fair skinned? If so then a serious solution for you (that is not a slow-working fade cream) would be a FotoFacial, a procedure done at most Medical Spas that uses a laser to pull pigmentation issues to the surface of the skin. I have gotten it to fade skin damage and freckles and it works very well. It requires multiple treatments but the pigmentation will lighten drastically after each one as long as you use sun screen of 35 SPF or higher every day without fail. You should be doing this anyway as it is the easiest way to prevent further damage. This is a great (though expensive) option if you are serious.

I spilled nail polish remover on a wooden table and it made a deep hole??

the acetone looks like it melted on the wood but it was still wet, and me being stupid, i passed the sponge to dry it and it torn the ''skin'' off and now theres a deep hole..what can i do?

I spilled nail polish remover on a wooden table and it made a deep hole??
go to home depot and ask for a thick, hard shell finish for wood. then just apply it on the hole until it is level with the rest of the table, if you get too much let it DRY and then sand it down. if it dries and is still too shallow, simply add more, make sure there are NO bubbles!

good question, hope this helped!
Reply:you are going to have top refinish the whole thing. sand it , stain it, and then refinish it. perhaps you would want to take it to a cabinet make or a woodworker
Reply:Now's your chance to make it a work of art! Get some fabric you like alot or maybe some walpaper that's not too crazy and cover the whole thing with it. You can add color to it. or you could just sad it and refinish it.
Reply:It depends a lot on what the table top was finished with . A shellac finish (french polish) can be repaired by using a solvent and a rubbing pad .

If it was polyurethane you might need to strip the top and refinish the whole thing if you want it perfect, or you can let the top dry completely, and feather the area with sandpaper , then apply a coat or two of polyurethane to the damaged area .
Reply:It sounds to me like the finish might have been lacquer and not varnish. About all you can do is refinish the top, and if you want the best results, that means the whole top. Don't just try to do the spot you ruined. Get some fine sandpaper, (220 grit or less) and sand the top until the finish is gone. Try not to get the stain. If you do you'll have to restain the whole thing too.

Once you have the old finish off, you need to find a high quality finish. Make sure it has the same sheen as the rest of the table. Put on a VERY LIGHT first coat and let it dry. When dry, lightly sand the top until smooth. Repeat this process for about 5 or 6 coats. If you can get a hold of an HVLP sprayer, that will put the best finish on for you, but they are expensive to buy. I suggest going to your local home improvement store and buying a package of 0000 steel wool for the sanding between coats. It is a very, very fine steel wool and produces a beautiful finish. Do not use a water based finish.

Good Luck, and keep the nail polish remover in the bathroom from now on.
Reply:Other than re-finishing it, you could try tiling it. Research tabletop tiling.

DEEP CHEMICAL PEEL, own experiances/docters etc?

hi guys

i am 20 y.o and have a badly scared face, acne and redness of ma face and i was told the only way to get ma skin normal is to have a deep chemical peel .

could anyone thats had a chemical peel please give me ur story of how it went, the results, side effects etc

thanx

DEEP CHEMICAL PEEL, own experiances/docters etc?
when you mention a deep chemical peel i assume you are talking about the phenol peel. This is a very deep and intese peel. This is normally used in severe wrinkling of the skin.

I would actually recommed having Fraxel done. It is a fairly new laser technology (www.fraxel.com), or you can have dermal fillers in each of teh pitted scars. and have medium depth peels (such as TCA peels and jesneer peel)

Eczema on face - will my skin grow back?

I had a bad case of contact dermatitis on my face. It kept flaking off for months. Eventually it made a hard crust with scaling and I lost more skin when that came off in December. The new skin underneath is pink and it's deeper than the normal skin so my cheeks have a rough, scaly appearance. The pink areas continue to expand, which I guess means the old skin is still coming off? The pattern of redness/pinkness changes daily. The new skin is still pink after 45+ days. Will it take months for my face to heal? Can my face still heal after it has been through so much?

Eczema on face - will my skin grow back?
Eczema doesn't often scar. Try to keep your hands off the area - that is new pretty skin and will blend in soon. Try the solution I recommend for helping relieve atopic dermatitis, eczema, symptoms to help your skin stay healthy as the new skin is very vulnerable to infection:

Coconut oil and vitamin E with some zinc applied topically should help.

Zinc supplements have also been shown to help improve this condition. Add some vitamin E supplements as well.

Atopic dermatitis is often caused by allergens, as I'm sure you are well aware by now. Here is an article that may help:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...

In addition, atopic dermatitis is often caused by chemicals in body care products. Please go here to see a list of common allergens in body care products:

http://www.sunflowernaturals.com/acne.sh...

Avoid any of the triggers on the pages mentioned above. After showering, apply the coconut with zinc to your skin and it should greatly relieve your symptoms.

I use a liquid zinc, available in most grocery stores or pharmacies. Don't apply the zinc directly to your atopic dermatitis, mix some with the coconut oil or, as I found out the hard way, it can sting. Just a couple of drops to a teaspoon of coconut. Add one squished gelcap of vitamin E also.

3 or 4 drops zinc

1 squished vitamin E gelcap

1 teaspoon coconut oil

My skin has loads of blackheads and i need some way to at least get them out of the skin!?

i need skin regiment to clear away some deep blackheads.. i neutrogena and exfoliate, im trying the salcylic acid medication for after i wash, anyone have anything positive about it? favorite brands for this sort of thing? thankss

My skin has loads of blackheads and i need some way to at least get them out of the skin!?
Heat some water. Pour it into large bowl. Hold your face over the steaming bowl and cover your head with a towel to keep steam from escaping. Let the steam OPEN your pores so you can clean them out. Be careful not to burn yourself.

This will take about five minutes to really open them up. Use a timer that rings.

Now your face will be ready to squeeze out the dirt and grease.

After you pat your face almost dry, immediately apply a mask; the pull-off one is best I think. It must be tight.

The mask will pull out the impurities from the pores.

Remember, dear you must be faithful in taking care of your skin.

Make sure you sleep with clean pillowcases every night.

And keep your hands away from your face as much as possible.
Reply:try biore
Reply:There are facial strips that you can get at your pharmacy that will bond to the blackheads and pull them out of the pores. One of the better brands is marketed under the label of Biore - in Canada, I don't know about the U.S. - and tends to be a bit expensive.
Reply:Buy some Biore Pore Strips. Apply them to your face. (Read the instructions carefully.) When you take the pore strip off, you can see the blackheads you pulled out. Hold it at an angle toward the light, you'll see. It's actually pretty cool. I use them often.
