Ugly skin?
Do not use glycolic acid products while using Retin-A. Both are exfoliants %26amp; you risk taking off too much skin.

Keep using the Retin-A %26amp; give it time to work. Retin-A also encourages collagen production but it takes a while for your skin to heal from the acne.

Apply sunscreen every day because your skin is more prone to sunburn. Use a lighter fragrance free moisturizer if possible. (ex. Oil of Olay, Cetaphil lotion)
Reply:Well proactive works great for anything really
Reply:I wouldnt recomend you any of those products without confirming a doctor. The doctor will no whats right for you and they will tell you which product is right for your skin, wheather a medicated product or your normal average ones where you could find anywhere?
Reply:I agree w/ the person who said not to do peels, it will only take off skin and make your problems worse. Try this instead,

try applying cucumber juice from fresh cucumbers. Run a peeled, fresh cucumber ( buy the one that comes in a plastic wrap) through a juice maker and use it to wash your face with every morning instead of a regular cleanser. . Pour the juice into a deep plate and dunk and soak each side of your face in there for a few minutes . ( first one side and then the other). After that pour it on the palm of your hand and smoothe it over your face.

. Leave it on for a few minutes and wash it off w/water only

This will make your skin softer, smoother and also help w/oiliness as well as tighten your pores. It also helps to soothe and heal skin. It also draws out skin's impurities such as blackheads, etc.
Reply:Don't use vaseline on your face it is not good.

Have you ever used or heard of Arbonne?

They make 3 face regimes. One is for acne the other for the 16-29 year old and the 30 ++ I have noticed personally that my pores are a lot better (not as large, and cleaner)

It has a hydrating wash, toner and creams that self adjust to all skin tones.

Reply:I have big pores too and oily skin. Unfortunately, you can never get rid of pores. They are there..forever. You can reduce the size of them slightly. I have had success with using a facial scrub once a week. I also don't use cleansers or astringents. My routine is: Ponds Cleansweep towelettes morning and evening, followed by Olay complete lotion for combination/oily skin. Once a week, I use Avon ANEW Clinical Micr-Exfoliant. Since I started doing this (about a year ago), my skin is much less oily, my pores appear smaller, and I rarely have acne. However, if you are already using Retin-A, you should consult your doctor or dermatologist before starting any other kind of regimen.
Reply:Go to a day spa and get a microderm abrasion treatment, or a set of treatments. That will help with any acne indentions or current acne problems. Your esthetician will also know what to do about the big pores as soon as she sees it. If that is too expensive, than just go once and make sure you talk the esthetician up and get all the verbal advice you can plus one treatment.
Reply:Trust me, no matter how many products you may have tried that failed, you can safely and naturally eliminate acne, shrink pores, and lose all acne scars without getting a chemical peel or using glycolic acid. From the time that I was young, until the time that I was adulthood, I suffered from severe acne. I had acne and scars all over my face; and I also had blackheads all over my back. But, don’t be dismayed. Your story does not have to be the same as mine.

Avoid alcohol, acids, and chemical solutions. Alcohols, salicylic acid, Retina-A, and benzoyl peroxide, actually dry the skin; and because they are synthetic, acne-causing bacteria become immune to the chemically created solutions. Why? Because chemical solutions are created to treat the type of bacteria they sought to treat that was in existence when the solutions were made. Unfortunately, bacteria are living organisms and they learn to mutate quickly. When mutation occurs, salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide fail. They also are harsh on the skin and create more scars.

Home Remedies

#1: Try opening up your pores by steaming you face. Pour hot water in a bowl or in your basin. If in a bowl, heat the water in your microwave for about 3-5 minutes and place your face over the bowl for 10 to 15 seconds. Do this three times. But, be careful not to scald your face. Take some ice cubes out of the fridge after doing this and rub them over your face.

#2: Scrub your face with baking soda and lemon juice. This is probably one of the most inexpensive, but pore-tightening and effective washes that you can use.

If you are not the home remedy type, or you would like to purchase something that will work even faster at shrinking your pores, then I suggest you buy Beauty 4 Ashes Large Pore Shrinking Kit. It is filled with several pore shrinkers, including citrus fruits and essential oils that tone the skin and tighten and unclog the pores, like sage oil. It works. Probably within 1-2 months, you should notice a difference in your pores, especially on your cheeks. You can find in some drugstores and online at www.discoverb4a.com.

Lastly, if you wear makeup, I would suggest you use less, or apply it only when you go to a big event so you can give your pores a chance to breathe and not stay clogged. This applies even if the makeup says that it does not clog pores.
