Why the fair skin girls are the preferred lot in almost all service industries incl ITand Airlines?

we have more than the majority dark skinned. why employment is restricted to fairer skin ? is the merit/talent also skin deep in india?

Unfortunatelly the colour of the skin is considered for all jobs which require you to flaunt yourself. This is more to do with all our cultures, around the world and not limited to india, that the colour black is associated with evil and dirty. The sad part is that our religious scriptures have even made fun of the dark skin(Lots of references to Lord Krishna being dark and made fun off) so there is very little one can do anything about it. Although, you are right, beauty is skin deep.

Reply:No.. apart from talents and merits, industry needs smart and beautiful personalities who can impress upon the customers .. IT and Airlines are two of many industries where fair skin girls are preferred over darker ones , other things being equal..





Even Hotel industries Tourism industries.. fair skin is preferred..


Even marriage , though it is not an industry yet but there only Fair skin gets preference over all other merits, talents, brains,





business survive on Profit and Profit can come only if customers are coming and feeling to come again and again and again..


So fair skin is used as a Magnet to pull the Customers.. This is practise is not limited or originated in India but is imported from Western culture where woman is used as a Product to market your other Product.. Booming Business , Vibrant India, World Leader in business.. all is supported with many such hidden Dark sides in the Light of Fair Skins' Glow

Reply:I dont know about skin color being a preference but good personality and healthy skin are always preferred.


You can have dark complexion and healthy skin as well as good personality, we have some film heroines who dont have fair complexion but still doing pretty good.
