Does our skin pigment change over time?

I was wondering this because i have noticed over time that when i get a deep tan from being out swimming, my skin color goes from being really dark and to orange and then slightly tanned, and doesn't go back to it's original color( i have fair skin) and it seems to stay that color. And every year, the same thing happens, except i get darker. So i guess i have a sun tan, all the time then? What's the explaination?

Does our skin pigment change over time?
i've maintained my original fair skin color by using a good skin lightening product and sunscreen.. no matter what we do, you can't keep your original skin tone because the sun's UVA and UVB rays darken our skin, penetrating even in the shade... depending on how active you are outdoors, will determine how much tanning you'll get each year.. during winter, the skin tends to get back close to its original skin color.. but summer months are when the sun is at its hottest, which contributes much to tanning.. people of color like asians, african americans have more melanin content and tend to get darker.. white americans and caucasians have little melanin content that's why they had to go through artificial tanning..

if you want to lighten skin effectively, here's a good article about it -
